Great to hear Bate will be playing more of a full-forward role this season. It is a position he is very familiar with as he played there in U-18s. I think he is a far better option than Newton. Newton has to play in the VFL and prove his worth before any consideration.... However, I think Mr. Watts will be our more permanent FF in 2010....

I am a big wrap for Bartram and it is great to read he will be more of a midfield player with a license to run. He is probably the most fittest bloke in our team. No.3 is an elite number which will suit Bartram. Because I think he will become an elite midfielder....

I think these two players are in for a great year and will revel in these positions....

He'll need elite skills for that to happen, won't he?

I don't share your optimism and would be happy if he cemented a best 18 spot.

I do agree re: Bate though.

Unless Bartram can be improve his disposal and stop turning over the ball then I would expect and hope he is overtaken by better option on the list.

If Bates playing forward, I see him as a 3rd or 4th option up forward and not a KPP.

Bate looked to be moving more freely and faster with a degree of confidence on the weekend, I'm looking for him to give much more output this season. Bartram's game was highlighted by his 9 point goal. That was about it. He's one to watch this season, he must make inroads to cement his footballing career IMO.

Bartram and elite are two words that I find difficult to put together without a isn't inbetween.

I have my hopes that he becomes a solid contributor but he lacks the skills to ever reach the elite class.

    TRAINING: Wednesday 22nd January 2025

    Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force for training at Gosch's Paddock on Wednesday morning for the MFC's School Holidays Open Training Session. DEMONLAND'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS REHAB: TMac, Chandler, McVee, Tholstrup, Brown, Spargo Brown might have passed his fitness test as he’s back out with the main group.  Sparrow not present.     TRAINING: Monday 20th January 2025

    Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on.     There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks.     Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning.
