The logo is still a shocker! Whats with half of its face being covered up. I'm glad we have a demon back on the jumper

but i would have thought they could have come up with something a hell of a lot better than that.

i think it's supposed to be a cape curled around the face like a vampire

The logo ( demon ) looks actually better with a little white outlining.. Helps define it.. Cant see the club changing anything now though. I also prefer the MFC monogram on the red jumper.. alas !! :(( Still its at least better than the pyjama fiasco

This is the outline that I was thinking of.

I really wish the club went with the MFC monogram.

Out of the two jumpers I almost prefer the white one, but would love the monogram.

i see what u mean bizkit about making it stand out, but im not too fussed, i still think it looks good without it.

however, when it come to MFC Monogram vs Demon, i recon the Demon should be used. That monogram, whilst it is a big part of our history, is "boring" in comparison to a demon. I think the red jumper (and also the white jumper when it has to be worn) with the demon on it, will sell more than if the MFC Monogram were on it.

I also like the idea of the club having a more simple image. Rather than having two logos (like we do at the moment) and also a jumper with a another logo on it, it all becomes too complicated for everyone. That logo is part of our past, and it is good to use on documents, on merchendise or at MFC functions or pictures, i dont like it on a jumper because I cant see any benefits of using it.

It's official according to melbournefc.com.au - Dees' new clash guernsey unveiled

i've come to love it. and i love the white one aswell so wont be too upset when we are forced to wear that.

Why would we wear that white one? We've got an alternate strip, it won't clash with anyone that our normal jumper clashes with, so everything's fine. We don't a third, white jumper at all. I think/hope that was only created for the intra club match.

dont ask me. read the article on the website posted by deeman.

obviously the AFL dont think its sufficiant for one or two matches, so we will have to wear the white one then.

I really don't like how the Demon touches the AFL logo, really shouldn't be that close IMO

45, you have just made me have a great laugh. Have you been watching '[censored] eye for the straight guy' or something  ? Not calling you gay or anything (not that there's anything wrong with that), just having a laugh at the eye for detail. What shade of white do you think we should have as our away shorts to best match the red jumper? Should the socks and shoes also be colour co-ordinated? And do you think we should get all the players to have the same hair-do... Classic! (btw, not having a dig, just genuinely thought it was funny how much detail people notice... maybe that's why I don't do so well with the women...).

Haha I think you've actually thought ideas through, and were just looking for a medium to let them out

Well  , I did have some ideas re shades of white for shorts. I was thinking the cream, the bone, the white, the off-white, the ivory or the beige...

Sprung!

Barefoot would definitely go best with the beige option richie!

But on topic i think i can get to like this clash jumper, good to see the red and blue back!

Whilst it may be close, does it touch the AFL logo? I think it's ok.

Yes, although I prefer just the "twwwooooo" colours. Red & Blue. Thanks Richie.

I can't believe what I'm reading. After all this member backlash, the club has still conceded to the AFL and we still have a white strip. Now we have three jumpers! For Pete's sake! There aren't any clubs with whom our normal or red clash jumper will clash. I can't see the need for a white one, but the club has rolled over yet again.

Sigh.

I can sort of see this as an opportunity to market a different line of merchandise, if it's done correctly that is. All the clubs in the EPL have three strips, their home, their away, and an alternate strip, and i imagine they all see like hotcakes (obviously catering to a larger and crazier audience).

Personally i prefer the white one, the demon sinks into the background of the red one for my taste. Still i like them a lot more than the silver [censored] we wore last year!

Posted

I liked both versions but think the red potentially clashes with Adelaide and Brisbane - the AFL might force us to wear white in those games.

I'd buy the white jumper. Then again, I bought the silver purely because it was a melbourne jumper...

Posted

i disagree with any suggestion the demon needs a white outline.

while it may look good in a computer generated image, or 'up close' in a photo, i think it will just blur the lines when the jumper is worn at full motion.

R Refuse to accept our traditional jumper clashes with Adelaide or Brisbane (or Fitzroy for that matter) Its AFL driven rubbish that if said enough people will start to believe. Changing Jumpers only makes it easier for teams to be moved to different places. That is the long term agenda. I can always pick a Demon Jumper and my eyesight has never been Perfect....

Exactly. Adelaide's clash strip is predominantly red, and they would have the exact same clash problems that Melbourne has. And despite anything to the contrary, we don't clash with Brisbane.

I know the point you are trying to make, which is all the more powerfully made by the little bloke with the rolling eyes, but the AFL has got brisbane and adelaide to wear alternate jumpers against us in the past - why wouldn't they make us wear an alternate jumper against them? In fact I'd expect the AFL to do so.

We just need to take the Collingwood stance.. !! truly.. we either wear our REAL strip...or the clash one.. has worked for a long long time. ;)

Those two jumpers are surely enough.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
