Does anyone know the training times for this week?

Good question. Up till now training has been at Casey Fields on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8:30am but there was no training on Monday (Australia Day).

The club website is silent about whether it's on tomorrow or Friday.

There's a special afternoon training session one day next week for Past Players and Officials but I don't know if it's open to the public.

Best to call the club and ask.

I wonder how the Past Players will go in their training session now they've lost a bit of condition. Some of the Officials might struggle too.

Saw em training at the Junction Oval today.

G'day agent_orange

Do you know what do they do at the Junction Oval on the days between the Casey training?

The Casey training lasts nearly four hours and is running and match fitness based. My assumption was that Junction training was weights based

cheers in advance

Guys,

Does the weather effect the chance on wheter the guys train at all?

If the mercury goes up as high as it has in the past few days, I think they will be restricting their time on the deck.

A poster on Demonology [MK08] went to training in the heat yesterday. here's a summary of his report:-

  • Clint Bartram and Brad Miller showed noticeable direction and leadership on the track;

  • Liam Jurrah was restricted to 200m sprints and laps and surprisingly found the going hard;

  • Jamie Bennell, Sam Blease and Cale Morton did running work while Cam Bruce, Simon Buckley and John Meesen left the track early (not injured);

  • Neville Jetta is exciting, agile, makes great decisions and his sidestep is as good as Davey's;

  • Robbo did strides and pool work by himself;

  • Addam Maric gets a heap of the ball when it comes to match simulation activities, and his foot skills are lovely;

  • Not impressed with Meesen - Jake Spencer looks ahead of him at this stage;

  • There was lots of tackling and physicality in the training. Nathan Jones and Beamer stood out in this area;

  • Jared Rivers and McLean are the smartest players on our list. We desperately need Rivers on our half back line again;

  • Colin Garland now looks comfortable with the MFC and AFL footy c.f. in the past;

  • The boys trained from 8.30am to 11am and were given no favours due to the heat.

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

    Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,

    GALLANT by KC from Casey

    The world “gallant” is not one that is readily acceptable to losing teams in our game of football so when it was used in the context of the Casey Demons’ loss to Sandringham in yesterday’s match at Casey Fields, it left a bitter taste in the mouth.  The Demons went into the game against the St Kilda affiliated Zebras with the advantage of playing on their home turf (not that this has been a major asset in 2024) and with very little else going in their favour. The Saints have close to a full

    MEANWHILE by Whispering Jack

    … meanwhile, at about the same time that Narrm was putting its feet on the accelerator to obliterate the long-suffering Euro-Yroke combination, I heard someone mention in passing that Kuwarna was leading Waalitj Marawar by a whopping 46 to 1 halfway through the second quarter of their game over in Adelaide. “What is football coming to?” I asked myself.  In front of my eyes, the Demons were smashing it through the midfield, forcing turnovers and getting the footy to their forwards who w
