wrong. mclean, davey, green and maric are all better kicks. that said, murphy happens to be a midget that gets plenty of the footy and gets the ball in damaging spots on the ground and can drift forward to kick goals. great player

Freak when you say something is wrong, it's actually right more often than not. As it is in this case. Maric - you may have an argument, but Murphy is a better kick of the footy than those you mention IMO.. That's an unbiased view. Take your rose coloured glasses off next time.

The amount of times Murphy hits Fev lace out for a start. His kick for goal on the run, another. But I guess we will just have to agree to disagree ... there's no delusion on my part. As I stated before it IMO. I will also point out again that you may have an argument for Maric. He has very good foot skills from what I've seen, we are yet to see the best of Maric.

You are bang on in this case.

Marc Murphy is a great little player who should get better in the future but one criticism I would have atm, is his disposals.

Not saying he's a bad kick but he would be a stud if his disposals were cleaner.

Have not convinced me how he's any better then mclean, davey, maric?, Green/ Wheatley (both have footskills a tad overrated but not worse then Murphy).

But back on O'keefe. Pay him.

Hight Tower at it again.... having a crack at everyone!!!

typical........ carlton have no depth and are pooz....

i hope fevola does a knee, warnock gets split in two, Stevens continues to put on weight and carazzo goes back to the Fun factory!

Murphy is a [censored] kick. Carlton should have taken Ellis at #1.

Geez....compelling arguments

One of the reasons he was drafted at No.1 was for his sublime kicking and delivery as well as his poise.

Anyway, back on O'Keefe.....

I'd love to see his disposal efficiency from 2008.

Don't get me wrong I'd kill to have Murphy however I believe his kicking is average at best .

70.48% D.E. for 2008. Its actually below the AFL average 74%. Thought it would be better than the average.

For the record.... i know that O'Keefe is not in our age bracket and perhaps not in our $$$ range....

BUT........ putting that aside and of course if we have the $$$$ why the hell wouldnt we go after him if he is in the PSD??

he is in the best 22 players in the AFL and i would go as far as saying in the top five in terms of hard running and effort and he is a great role model for our young squad....

god if we can get him then why the hell wouldnt we???????

More entertaining than trade week

It's line in the friggin sand time

Screw the under 23 rule.

We need to land a big fish in the PSD.

We have pick one for christ sake & Jon Ralph writes an article in the Herald Sun today about

O'Keefe, Josh Carr & Ben Cousins & we don't even get mentioned as possibilities.

If we don't land a high profile out of contract player with pick one, not only will we continue to be the

laughing stock of the football world & the target of all fellow supporters smart arse comments we

simply will cease to exist in 5 years.

The time is NOW lets move heaven & earth to land ROK or JC.

Pick ONE - Let's get back some respect.

do you really think we'd be a laughing stock? I thought no one would care and just think we didn't want any of them (or in O'Keefe's case, didn't want to PAY)

Josh Carr might inject a bit of mongrel to the boys, i wouldn't be opposed to it, especially with the Bailey connection (... were they both at Port at the same time?)

BUT i think he'd retire if chosen by a melb club as the mail i've received is that he wants to return to SA for his wife's sake, and that's the only reason he left

And i'm sorry, but i don't think taking a 'big' name in the PSD will save the club. Personally i think taking ROK has more chance of killing it.

So you're saying that picking up one of the best players in the competition and giving the MFC 4 or 5 solid years of service whilst improving our impotent forward line dramatically instead of recruiting the 85th best 18 year old would kill the club. WTF??

Definatly have a crack at okeefe he is no doubt a star player: Imagine this: A foward line consisting of Watts, Robertson (even if it is for a year or two playing a cameo role also will take the best or 2nd best defender every week) Morton, Bate, Miller, Davey, Wonna, and then add the supurb overhead talents of OKEEFE. He fits the bill to what could really help us. Our list manager should contact his manager and guarantee him a spot on our list next year. He wants to come back to Victoria, lets bring him back to the heart and soul of football which is MELBOURNE!!

Oh for God's sake Mono. I'm getting pretty sick of seeing you slam every single one of YM's posts. It's more annoying than the posts themselves. Did you even read what he wrote? I agree with the whole post, except for Judd (who is still lightyears in front of anyone at Melbourne even with his injuries).

2024 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc. When he’s on song, he’s unstoppable but he did blot his copybook with a three week suspension in the final round.
