Is it a foregone conclusion?

Will we pick up Jack Watts in the National Draft as it has been widely tipped? Or will it be Naitanui or Rich?

Or will Melbourne somehow lure Warnock from Fremantle from the financial grip of Carlton (commonly referred to as VISY Blues in some circles)?

If you had a wish list what would it be (ie like a list for Santa) come trade and draft time, what would it be?

Here's my list: -

TRADE: - Green & Pick 35 to Bulldogs for Pick 14 in return.

Daniel Bell and pick 67 for Adam Thompson (Port Adelaide)

DRAFT: - Picks 1, 14, 17, 19, 51

Pick up Watts, Zaharkis, Blease, Vickery (not necessarily in that order) and fluke quality with 51 somehow.

PSD: - Robbie Warnock!

GO DEES!!

Why would we trade Wonaemirri.

FFS, why does everyone think just because a player is a decent performer he should be traded. We need a core group of players to build our young squad around. There is no need to trade Green, Wheatley, Sylvia, Wonaemirri just for the sake of it. I was completely for Travis Johnstone's trade. It was a good offer and the right time to part with Trapper. And If it were to be the same situation for one of the players listed above I wouldnt mind but we cant just throw them away.

And why Podisadly, he's a decent player who has consistently done the job at VFL level but do you not understand the word youth. Google it, you might learn something.

1 - Jack Watts. We need a forward before a ruckman.

17 - David Zaharakis. Will probably be the best midfielder available at this point.

19 - Mitch Banner/Aaron Cornelius. Depending on where we want to go, these two will both become excellent performers.

35 - Jordan Roughead. I can see him slipping back this far. We need a ruckman.

Why the hell does everyone seem to think any trade we do will involve a pick and a player for a higher pick????WHY!!!And Wonaeamirri???? Yeah, lets give up a good little player for nothing. And Brad Green? Sure, if he doesnt sign, shop him around for the best pick.IMO he should be the next skipper so why trade him???

It's a good way to upgrade picks and in a valuable draft like this (Not only quality wise, but because of GC17 in years to come) we need to grab any decent picks we can get.

Is Didak worth considering , or Brad Fisher from carlton . Both may be on the trade table .

Didak in some quarters has been tipped to stay at the filth. However, recent talks with Ben Cousins with Mick Malthouse - allegedly - may or may not depend on Didak staying. Rhyce Shaw could be another development.

Edit: In relation to who may be on the trade table. Not insinuating that Melbourne should chase Didak or Shaw.

We dont need Didak. His an excellent player, but his off-field profile is not something the MFC need.

Brad Fisher is a so-so player. Reliable for a goal but very ineffective most of the time.

No to both.

Why would we pick up a 27 or 28 year old from the VFL (podsiadly)? Absolutely ridiculous, it does not fit in with our YOUTH policy for starters and the fact he has been on about 4 rookie list tells me he is not up too it.

Quite right. Podsiadly has been playing a number of years now at VFL level. If you were going to pick him up it would of been 4-5 years ago, even longer.

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
