Don't say it bub. Lord knows what all the winning culture people will think.

A real shame about Green... at least for him personally.

He probably does have a niggle of some description..Nothing underhand in that...no sireee.

Would it be improper to suggest we coulndt be opportunistic about it ??

yes.. definitely rest him this week.. might need a follow up , cautionary rest in about...ooh I dont know..say..maybe 4 games after that !! ;)

Hmmmm post-match injury appears to our very best player the week we play Freo eh?

How un-Melbourne

This means that Brock McLean could still win the Demonland b&f despite missing the last 7 rounds.

I actually think this might be true, because Green's influence was down this weekend, and he didn't play in the backline as per usual. Spent a fair bit of time up forward in a more stationary position.

Said in the article that it happened at the end of the game and he started the game in the goalsquare so your idea holds no water.

Yeah, probably should have read the article

He deserves a week or two off injured or not. Someone else can carry the team. Personally, I think the dees are going to send a very young team across to the west.

I am getting the feeling the dees are planning to play a similar season wind down to the eagles. Not that i am complaining, watching the kids develop is great for the future of the club.

Bad luck to him, as he's having a great year and is possible AA. Hope he recovers well and rests up.

Bring on Petterd!!!

I'm afraid that's not likely. According to Andy Lovell, Petterd played 80% of game time at Sandringham last week. I believe he has to be up at 100% capacity to get the recall to AFL footy.

List management ????

probably from the same people who on this forum said brock's surgery was list management.... he only had two screws in his foot...

damn people sometimes players get injuried

Next it will be OUT: Bruce (gout) indefinite

hehe

  • POSTGAME: West Coast

Following a disastrous 0–5 start to the season, the Demons have now made it three wins in a row, cruising past a lacklustre West Coast side on their own turf. Skipper Max Gawn was once again at his dominant best, delivering another ruck masterclass to lead the way.

  • GAMEDAY: West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have a chance to notch up their third consecutive win — something they haven’t done since Round 5, 2024. But to do it, they’ll need to exorcise the Demons of last year’s disastrous trip out West. Can the Dees continue their momentum, right the wrongs of that fateful clash, and take another step up the ladder on the road to redemption?

  • FEATURE: 1925

A hundred years ago today, on 2 May 1925, Melbourne kicked off the new season with a 47 point victory over St Kilda to take top place on the VFL ladder after the opening round of the new season.  Top place was a relatively unknown position for the team then known as the “Fuchsias.” They had finished last in 1923 and rose by only one place in the following year although the final home and away round heralded a promise of things to come when they surprised the eventual premiers Essendon. That victory set the stage for more improvement and it came rapidly. In this series, I will tell the story of how the 1925 season unfolded for the Melbourne Football Club and how it made the VFL finals for the first time in a decade on the way to the ultimate triumph a year later.
