Jimmy Stynes' Plan for The MFC

DEBT IS THE DEVIL IN STYNES' DETAIL

DEES DRAFT RESCUE PLAN

The articles don't really reveal anything new about our financial crisis and, despite the title of the first one, there' not much detail about Jimmy's plans to get us out of the shyzenhausen.

It's abundantly clear however, that change was needed because the old guard were going nowhere fast.

Yes, it shows we badly needed at change at the top, because we have had a dramatic turnaround from last year; from a small profit, to a forcast loss of about $2million.

The size of this loss indicates, that we again have let our expenses get out of control again, relative to our income.

From this Stynes article Two VPs for Dees

In other club developments, Stynes unveiled plans of a 'Debt Demolition' campaign on July 10, which he said would "see us debt free".

Very interested in the projected time frame of the debt free goal

How in the world are we losing so much money?

I didn't think our debt was 3 million before this year, and i don't understand how we'll lose a further 2 million this year. It's good it's being addressed though

The new administration will also look to refashion the club's logo. Stynes has refused to reveal his specific plan here, but has made it clear to his executive that he likes the Demon and wants it back.

THE MFC PLAN

6. Bring back the Demon.

Probably the least of our worries at the moment, but will it be the same Demon as before. Anyone got any inside info?

Interest Repayments would have a lot to do with our debt. Just gets Bigger & Bigger. That's why we all have to continually raise money over a few years at least. This is a long termer and we must Hang in

Debt servicing is the Albatross. Thats why Jim & Co know the solution to survival rests and falls with the abolition of debt. Then revenue can be spent on better things.

Its the ol story...it aint how you make it..its how you spend it !!

Does anyone know the status of the Bentleigh and Leighbrook clubs?

Do we actually own them or do we just own a share?

The reason I ask is the two venues must be worth a bit. Is it not a good idea to sell both and put that money towards our debt?

The way I see it we have two essential investment opportunities being Casey Fields and the new stadium.

Casey requires $600,000 which will most likely be put up by the AFL. We will then own land worth $600,000. A gift from the Council. The new Stadium requires about a $1.5 million investment which I believe we have raised money for already.

Now any other investment activities should be put on hold. Once debt is cleared and we begin to make a profit again then we should consider investing in a gaming venue etc.

In conjunction with whats already been said, I imagine that the turnover of such a high number of staff has contributed a significant amount. Cant see the club having budgeted for all the costs involved there.

No inside info, but there is a thread of designs on demonology (http://demonology.midnight.net.au/Index.PHP?Mode=Forum&SubMode=DisplayPosts&MessageThreadID=26315&BoardType=0).

I am awaiting approval from an application there a few weeks ago, so can't post my 'designs'. Frustrating.

I was going to throw them here and ask that someone with dual access shift it for me, but probably should start a seperate thread for that. We do, IMO, need to be wary of overly complex and/or busy designs.

I'm happy to post them up there for you. You can make a post in here / PM me if you want.

It may be a tad foolhardy.( given our precarious position ) ..but common practice is to borrow against the value of land ( hint) to build !! ;) We need 1/2 mill.. we're given a 1/2 mil assett...get them grey cells going !! :)

Thanks for that. I personally would like to see the return of the old Demon, with perhaps a few touch-ups.

Every little bit helps to wipe out the debt which is a noose around our necks.

Consider getting a few supporters/mates together to buy the $200.00 members only raffle ticket that's being hawked atm.

I've had two calls from the club already on top of the emails and now just need to persuade one more supporter to sign on for $50.00.

Apart from the big end of town that Jimmy's going to target, this'll help. And you may win something.

Then maybe not, but at least you'll know you've done your extra bit to help your club climb out of the mire.

Apart from the increased membership numbers in the last couple of weeks is there any news of large donations or sponsorships or was that all a bit of a pipedream?

Nothing we know of. Im sure Jimmy has a few things planned though with his debt-buster plan.

The Primus sponsorship is apparently worth a bit so I cant see us gaining a new major sponsor for a while.

  • AFLW REPORT: Port Adelaide

Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chances—plenty of them—but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Port’s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.
