Two former MFC Brownlow medalists who both love the red and the blue.

Don't forget that Woey didn't really want to go to the filth..it was just that his post-brownlow contract was savagely back ended we couldn't really afford to keep him anymore.

I believe that when Woey got married [during his filth career] most of the AFL related guests were MFC...where his heart lies.

He was also starting to plateau and deteriorate as a football and the brave and correct decision to trade him should have been applied to others at the senior end of list that collect their cheques and clog our list.

Its great he is doing whatever he can to support the red and blue. However I dont see a strategic role for him at MFC beside being a public face supporting our membership drive next year. he still has alot of connection with MFC supporters.

Good luck Woey.

He did his best to publicly ridicule the club at any opportunity he had while he was at Collingwood, how quickly people forget.

No one has forgotten. It serves no purpose to harbour on it

For the good of the Club's future I am happy to have him back in the fold to support the new administration. If can add support there are many supporters who are still fond of Woey and he may have some traction with them.

You miss my point, Woey has demonstrated time and time again that he talks first before thinking his actions through, I'm not sure someone of his level of intelligence would be of great benefit to a club in our position. Even as recent as last weekend he was making comments about 'barracking for Collingwood', he is hardly a Melbourne man like Stynes, Greg Healy, Gary Lyon etc.

Yeah I did sorry :(

I agree with your assessment though of him. Fantastic on the field in his early years but a little restricted off it at times!

I hope Jimmy is a vanguard to at least get more ex players to rally around and engender support for the Club.

Anything that gets past MFC players to help the club in any capacity is a plus in my opinion.

Something Garry suffers from is he's everywhere in the media, meaning people expect him to do more.

Anything that past players can do is very welcome in my mind.

Hope to see Woey around, how quickly we forget he was a favourite son, no, just joking, we always remember

Precisely. He is a Brownlow Medalist AND with the Melbourne Football Club. If he wants to provide assistance, then so be it. A lot of supporters still love him therefore, however he can help sign up members - let him help.

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
