Jack Grimes should be good to go in four to five weeks.

Says who? This list has reported such rumours for the past 4-6 weeks, including quotes from Grimes that he will be good in '2 weeks'

I don't have a good feeling about him ever playing.

So much for the reports he was going to be back on the list soon.

Beamer, Neitz, Robbo and maybe Rivers.

2 weeks in the VFL and then we should be letting him loose in the AFL. The young man lives and breathes Melbourne. Seriously it would not surprise me if he used to have a user account on demonland.com

Believe it. He has been out on the track @ the junction oval in the last few weeks doing light work, a first for his season I believe.

He was in the coaches box @ Sandy on the weekend, I've not seen him there before so it seems to me that he is nearing a time when he may get a light run in sandy seconds. It'll be good to see him go around.

From all reports will be worth the wait.

Stay tuned for a crowd favourite to be unleashed.

If anyone questions what this club stands for it will manifest itself in this kid. The boyhood dream of playing for a club that he loves. That is what the Melbourne Football Club stands for and what most of us that were never any good fantasize about.

My old man spoke to him at the Heroes function, told him that he would be 2-3 weeks away. He has been sufferring from stress fractures in his lower back, he said that the club believed that his kicking action was to blame. Unusual injury for a footballer, more commonly associated with cricketers, and in particular, fast bowlers.

Here's hoping he can get his body right and get a couple of games under his belt, would love to see him in the Red & Blue before the end of the season...

He will be a superstar!!!

Mark my words.

he is fearless. We will worship him the same way the kangaroos worshipped Glenn Archer.

Jack Grimes will be simply awesome.

Combine the way he plays with the fact he followed the Demons growing up, and you are gonna see a hell of a player.

What is the hurry??

The season is shot, why rush him back. If naything, we want to have an ace or two up our sleeve for next season. Unveiling a gun young player next season would be fantastic.

I hope he plays this year, but why rush him? Get him fit for next season!!!

For the love of all that is red and blue, what has gotten into supporters lately?

The kid is still going through puberty. He has been on the list for less than a year. He has a problem with his back and rightly so the club is being VERY cautious with him. How incredibly idiotic would it be if we rushed him, and caused permanent damage?

I believe that he is now doing a modified version of a pre-season, given he didn't do one at the start of the year and when he's finished, he'll be physically ready to play some football.

If it takes 2 weeks, if it takes the rest of the year, it will make no difference to his long term career at the MFC if we can manage his problem and get it right.

We're getting our arses kicked at the moment. Why inflict more pain on the child than necessary?!

Apparently Jack's younger brother is 10cm. taller, and equally talented. Also barracks for the Demons!

I don't think he's old enough for next year's draft, so we can't copy Perth and Adel. teams and keep Jack under wraps.

It'll be interesting to see how they turn out.

I'm happy just for Grimesy to ease back into footy this year and perhaps play a couple of games with Sandy, then next year concentrate on building his fitness level up and playing some consistent games, let's not burden him with greatness just yet.

I'll be making an effort to watch Grimesy this week.

I think he'll be something special, and I should have a match report for you all come monday.

Good reply Jaded. We have at least a few years ahead of us before this team will deliver.

2024 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc. When he’s on song, he’s unstoppable but he did blot his copybook with a three week suspension in the final round. 2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns. He showed great resilience in coming back from a nasty rib injury and is expected to continue in that role for another couple of seasons. It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield.
