Subjective, but I think football was at its height in the era of massive rotations preceding the first cap (during which we were [censored] and probably otherwise distracted), which was introduced due to concerns over increased injuries, and not congestion. And now we have another spike in injuries? Plus congestion is as bad as ever. Also speculation, but if I was a tired mid I would jump on the ball and tie it up rather than attempting to burst from a stoppage. Less likely I have receivers running past as well. But doing so reduces goal-scoring and opportunities for a moment of rest in between, and also increases contact and the potential of injury.

I don’t see any Demon doing anything to Maynard. We won’t want suspensions and nothing less than a suspension worthy act is worth doing anyway. Pushing and shoving is meaningless and just wastes energy and is distracting from the game. The best thing we can do is win by a landslide and then a marking attempt which accidentally knocks Maynard out is the best quinella.

Fisherman's Bend is slated for intensive high rise development, hosting training facilities there is very unlikely. Parkville is Carlton's turf, good luck with that. Caulfield is an option, a definite possibility and ticks many boxes, its why MFC are pushing for this. I can see it happening because it appears MRC want the Dees there.
