Sydney have some injuries who knows we could run over the top. hmmm yeah unlikely.

Hard to get a stat when you are in the green vest chook.

A lot of football 101 errors in the first half. This doesn't give some of our actually talented kids a chance to show what they may have. Even Lumumba struggles to look more than pedestrian with us because he never gets a chance to play to his strengths which has something to do with time and space and run. How do we expect the kids to do anything? Some of our experienced guys have been average at best.

Three goals gifted to glaring defensive errors. Not looking good.

Oh dear I think I started a joke

Eddie threatens to quit over equalisation proposals
Earl Hood replied to mdemonski2's topic in Melbourne Demons
Wish Eddie would disappear because he is stifling any progress in the AFL. Any idea floated that may effect Collingwood adverely is attacked ruthlessly by Edie through all his media outlets and the AFL Commission goes back into its hole. Gutless drones that they are. -
I see there was an article in the OZ newspaper today from the prime minister's chief business advisor Maurice Newman that climate change is a hoax driven by the United Nation's determination to take over the world and destroy democracies like ourselves. Is this guy in a straight jacket, no he is advising our leader and getting word space in the OZ. I was thinking you could cut Tony some slack because he is surrounded by idiots but then I thought to myself no you can't because Tony has personally chosen to surround himself with idiots. And then I thought about it yet again and realised that any leader who chooses to surround himself with idiots is a bigger idiot than any of the idiots he has surrounded himself with. Newman, Hockey, Pyne, Bronwyn, Hunt, Bernardi and on and on.

The Gatlin boys do you mean? We know their form, you know, what they did to Becky. I was thinking more the Gibb Brothers myself, how good were they? Unfortunately so many have passed on. There is only Barry, lead vocals and Lance, right arm orthodox, left to fly the flag.

Gee we could use another 10 Grouchos then to take the pizz out of our modern executive elites who take themselves far too seriously!

Well picked Jazza. Zeppo was a not just an actor, but a theatre agent, engineer, inventor, company owner and multi millionaire capitalist. As is well documented Karl was a lousy father and husband and relied on Engels for charity to keep investigating his theories. And Gummo was no chump either. Talented lot the Marx's!

Short memory. Neitz was no plodder compared to anyone. He wasn't the absolute best but gee wouldn't we love him in the team these days.

Sounds legit to me DC send through the contact number. I can then unload the superfund dollars and pump the money into this iron clad punting system. I can then retire early, I haven't time to wait for compound interest to do its thing. That is too boring.

But the industry pays its recruiters handsomely in the belief they can crystal ball it. Much like those grossly over paid fund managers saying they can beat the index average year in year out. Yes there are some truths, the odds are there is a gun somewhere in the first round, more so than the second round etc. but you can't predict pick one will be better than two etc.

Lewis was reckless, high and medium impact so he gets three with a discount to two if he pleads guilty. Hodge is deemed intentional, high contact and medium impact and gets three? Have I got this wrong? Doesn't reckless vs intentional get you an extra week or two? So Hodge should be given four minimum.

Essendon VFL v Casey Scorpions - Round 3
Earl Hood replied to KC from Casey's topic in Melbourne Demons
And pick 64 as well, not 4! -
Rod I have managed to do both but they are separate issues. One is about giving aid in a disaster, the other is a fundamental issue of injustice and let's face it the ultimate injustice we can do to someone, the firing squad. I don't get your point really, what we never question the misuse of political power because there is some disaster happening somewhere?

I am more than willing for the AFL to make an example of Hodge for the betterment of the game and the next generation of kids. Ten weeks?

My birthday had one zero in it not two DL!

Reminded me of my under age footy days when my team could thrash a side by 100 points then play the next side and lose by 100 plus. Very uneven competition based on the talent pools. The top sides had the pick of the local high or technical schools while the rest picked kids from their local churches or tennis clubs. AFL is looking very similar, with FA, top teams drafting kids out of contract etc more or less at will.

Hey Jumbo we know those guys are limited in talent but most of them want to have a go and dare I say would love to be there. Yes they will struggle and fail but you wont die wondering. I don't think we can say the same for Jack, we could all die waiting.

The Dogs have reinvented themselves inside two years. Father son has helped but Libba is out this year, as well as Wallis recently and they are playing better for it. They have lost half their experienced mid field in the last year or so yet replaced it through the draft and rookie system seemingly overnight. WHAT IS OUR PROBLEM? We still have a third world midfield after how many years? Anyone who thinks Jones or Tyson are A Grade mids had their opinion changed today. I love Jonesy but he is B grade against the likes of Fyfe and Dom is just average t the minute. Unless Dom finds his mojo we will again have stuffed up a first round draft strategy. But then whats new?

Think I will just watch on TV next week after a good dinner out after today's effort. We just are not in the hunt against the top teams.
-
We have lost a top 22 player each game since the seasons start. We don't have the depth to cover this, fair enough but why don't the top sides have a similar attrition rate? Of course the Dorks had a few injuries last year but in the end had a full and refreshed list for the finals, timing is everything for the top sides, for the lower sides there is no such saving grace. We are suffering big time at the moment and likely to lose Salem for next week with concussion.

I know we were flogged today but sitting there watching Jack basically run around chasing Freo players when it suited and being second in repeatedly but never making the play, rarely leading toward the ball carrier, rarely going up in a pack to try to mark a ball under pressure it all gets very hard to back him. I have tended to give him the benefit of the doubt because you can see the potential and we don't have much of his skill set but Its probably time to cut our losses. His 100th game reflects a player lacking all confidence but as others say a stint at Casey won't help because the media will be all over him and it only masks a basic flaw. He doesn't want the ball. I don't believe you can train that deficiency out of someone. Appetite for the contest it is called I think. When picking in the draft it is one of my non negotiables usually unless the talent quotient is huge. I wanted Hurley in that 2008 draft. Hurley has taken a while but seems to be getting there. At least he has a real crack. I may be proved correct in time as Nic Nat is still a project with potential.
