  1. Thanks stephen247. Worked a treat mate. Your a legend. All the best this year with your SC.
  2. Thanks stephen247. Yes I didn't really clarify things very well. I just wanted to join the demonland group. Not the league yet. As per Choke's post the league will be finalised later. I still can't join a group. When I click the link I log in to the SC site then go to leagues then groups but I can't find anywhere where I can join the group. Very frustrating!
  3. Thanks Choke for organising the SC leagues this year. Stupid question but I can't seem to work out how to join the Demonland group. I am going to the groups section and and it wants me to start a group. I want to join a league, not start one. And where is the log out button??? I must be blind. Any advise would be appreciated.
  4. Caught the train down from Ballarat with my 2 daughters this morning. We were there for the first hour or so before heading off to the air conditioned comfort of the museum. The wind was fairly brutal this morning. My first observation was, like the opinion of most, JHK is a little ripper. Surely he's a fair chance for a rd 1 berth. His application and skill were second to none. We haven't really got that many pushing for that crumbing role in the forward line. I would pick him before Byrnes. At the risk of offending a few, one player that didn't really excite me today was Jack Trengove. I know it was reported he was injured last year but if you are injured why are you playing? Can't help but think he got games last year by virtue of being co-captain. I saw several skill errors from him this morning I expect from Nicholson (which I saw anyway). The wind wouldn't have helped but I didn't see others making the same errors. I so much wan't him to succeed so I hope what I saw was an anomaly. Other than that it was great to see the new recruits new and old. It certainly brings a new dimension to our side. I liked Vince when he was at the Crows and I love him now he's a Dee. Silky. Michie is a solid unit. Cross knows no boundaries. And I hope Tyson can live up to the hype.
  5. FB: GARLAND FRAWLEY TERLICH HB: GRIMES MCDONALD TOUMPAS C: MITCHIE N.JONES VINCE HF:HOGAN DAWES WATTS FF: TRENGOVE CLARK HOWE FOLL: GAWN VINEY TYSON INT: MCKENZIE CROSS KENT SUB: PICK 9 EMER: DUNN FITZPATRICK EVANS My worry looking at the side I selected was the inexperience of Viney & Tyson as the followers with Gawn as the ruck. I'm not convinced Vince would be suited there & Mitchie wasn't given the chance at Freo to show what he could do. I actually forgot about Howe so I swapped him with Kent & put Kent on the pine. Howe is definately first 18 IMO. Trengove too slow for a midfield role but he is co-capt (at the moment) so I guess he needs to be there. Needs to lift in 2014 though. Any constructive critisism would be welcomed.
  6. Ha. I'm with you HH. When I heard rumours about the Dees looking at Shane Savage I almost choked. And then he thinks he's too good to play for us. I would suggest Savage have an interest in ANY club that may look at him cause he's a bench warmer at Hawthorn. Enjoy Box Hill Shane.
  7. As it looks like Scott Selwood will be offered the captaincy at West Coast he's off the table. Surely we have a red hot crack at Dusty. This kid could be anything. Risky as it is when guys of this calibre are available, in the position we are in, put an offer to his management that will make him look twice. How much easier does it seem to bargain these days with a credible coach at the helm?
  8. Using Dreamteam stats as a guide Scott Selwood's average points per game has increased every year since his debut. That is a sign of a player increasing his output and impacting on games more. I personally believe Supercoach is a more accurate guide of a players output but it could be the same upward curve. And as someone previously stated he is only 22 or 23? This is a guy we could absolutely put in our midfield. And I would use pick 2.
  9. Am I missing something but what's with the hype about Taylor Adams? IMO he's this years Josh Caddy. I just don't see where this hype is coming from. I'm not saying he doesn't have talent but he ain't no Crouch or O'Meara. Yes we need mids & yes let's trade hard for mids but to use a high trade for him would not help us. Scott Selwood on the other hand is another story. A proven mid with a few seasons under him from a professional (ahem) club. Used as a tagger but gets his own ball like Carrazzo. (Not that we would use him in that role). He wants to return to Vic, we will have Roos and most importantly we may have half a chance.
  10. Happy Birthday for next week Jaded. At least you stuck it out for the season. It's been bad for us all. You'll be back next year.
  11. Correct me if I'm wrong but we get picks 2 & 3? One of them must be used on a gun mid. Someone like a Dustin Martin or Rory Sloane. Throw the world at them. See if their club will bite. We paid overs for Clark but he is quality (barring his injury). People will say Martin's ill disiplined, or Dale Thomas is injury prone. No one is 100% guaranteed to perform as expected. We need big bodies to complement Viney, Toumpas etc. in the years to come. And we need some bloody mongrel!
  12. I know Pederson has had a poor start to the season but could we not develop him to play Frawley's role in the backline? I believe he did play a bit of defence in his limited games with North. Similar body. We need mids. It is vital. If we can trade Frawley while we can get something worthwhile then let's do it. Trade him for a midfielder. And our backline is looking fairly strong considering the blitzkreig they suffer every week.
  13. I was retrenched 8 weeks ago. I am also a demon for life, where the club direct debits from my account monthly. Suffice to say my wife & I are looking at cutting costs where possible. Why the hell should I keep forking out money I can't really afford towards this "club" anymore? They even sent me a letter a couple of weeks ago asking me to become a member. I bloody am! Have been for over 10 years. No idea.
  14. It would be awesome if we (via the AFL) could secure his services. But it just embarrasses me that the AFL needed to step in in the first place. I would hate to think what the AFL actually thinks of us. What a shambles this club is nowadays. But hope must remain so fingers crossed this rumour is true.
  15. Wasn't it salt into the wound that Brock Mclean caused Grimes's shoulder injury. And flogs McIrvaney(?) & Watson were defending him. We need a line in the sand game like Hawthorn vs Essendon. Bugger the consequences. Take out Mclean then Robinson. Throw in Waite for good measure. Led by Tapscott & Sylvia.
  16. One thing I don't understand is why the hell don't we ever man up? We are a god damn embarrassment.
  17. I'll never forget the family day in 2011 when I took my 5yr old daughter. We were meeting the players at Luna Park. When it came to meeting Tom Scully I wished him well for the season. He didn't even look me in the eye & he had this I'm bored out of my mind look on his face like a petulant teenager that's getting told off for something. I left that day thinking maybe he knows he won't be at the club in 2012. There was innuendo about his contract offer with GWS around this time. Nevermind. We got Mitch Clark out of it. Brent Maloney on the other hand was a gentleman. He was happy to chat with us & was even asking us questions about our day, talking about the weather, etc. I wish him all the best at the Lions.
  18. Interesting tweet from Grant Thomas 6 days ago re Ross lyon. "I can say with some authority that Roos contacted G Lyon & informed him R Lyon was available (would have stayed in Melbourne). Alas no follow up!" Garry was a great leader of our club & I think he's great in the media but he should never have been in involved in coaching appointments. I know it's spilt milk & we have Neeld & I back him & hope he turns us around but from what it sounds our procedures in appointing coaches stinks. Sheedy says he was actually interviewing us & was worried when he left about troubles ahead. Now reading this about Lyon seems like negligence of duty. Not to mention passing on Hardwick, Hinkley & Sanderson. Anyway the next coach MUST HAVE SENIOR EXPERIENCE.
  19. I can't see how Pederson keeps his spot this week. He obviously has talent winning Werribee's B&F last year but has done SFA in rds 1 & 3. Bring Gawn in for him. And Neeld has to tell Sylvia the only pill he has to worry about is Scully's head in knocking it off ala Grinter on Dermie in the 89 GF. Sorry if I have those details wrong. Feel free to correct me.
  20. I think HBF is Watts best position also but if you aren't applying any defensive pressure you need to think about your role. I would say to him Jack, you have the next 6 rounds. Show us something!
  21. I know it's a hard call but I think Barrett is right. We have stifled his career. Having said that, his efforts this year have been deplorable. I say we cut our losses, trade him & try and get a first round pick for him. Like everything else we seem to do, it hasn't worked, let's start again.
  22. If your talking about Nathan Van Berlo we have no hope. He is the captain of the Crows. But yes I agree Dale Thomas would be a great get.
