  1. This new one will be the fourth Macca's in Ballarat. It's to service the new suburb they are developing in western Ballarat. If you are inferring Ballarat has a high proportion of McDonalds's you are probably right but it's probably no different than anywhere else.
  2. I met Nathan Jones today with my 8 year old and 4 year old daughters. He was in Ballarat for a promotional visit for a new McDonalds. I must say I didn't ask him about his contractual situation but I can say he is a top bloke that was happy to have a chat with myself and my daughters. My eldest daughter has a poster of him on her wall so she was a little awestruck. He signed her guernsey. With regards to contracts, these days anything goes unfortunatley. We have spent the past 6 months hoping we would get Patrick Dangerfield. Could you imagine being a Crows fan thinking Dangerfield might leave for an opposition club? That would be be nerve racking, as would thinking Nathan might leave us for someone else. He is our our best player. He will be targeted. Let's hope we have the funds and potential in place to make him want to stick with us. I feel he will end up up a demon immortal.
  3. Awesome news. I have always respected Brendan McCartney. Hopefully he can can help with the development of our incoming draftees as well as our existing players.
  4. I just find it weird that the head coach is not here to oversee things personally. Just my gut feel. I will get over myself but I may not get over another mediocre year which seems on the cards.
  5. Mahoney telling us to be patient. Seriously? How much patience is required following this club. Watts staying, big deal. I'm normally an optimistic person but this lack of action during this trade period has set me off.
  6. 1 hour and 40 minutes to do something, anything. C'mon Mahoney. Earn your money. Improve our list!!!
  7. No we will struggle, not them. Their midfield is arguably top 5 in the comp, even without Griffen. Young but talented. Getting Boyd filled an urgent need for them. We needed an experienced mid, we didn't get one. Dogs to definately finish above us next season.
  8. Yeah fair point. Just not the best look. As stupid as it sounds I bet Doggies supporters are feeling more hope than I am right now, even if there's no money left in the kitty for the next 7 years. At least they got who they wanted.
  9. I don't begrudge Paul Roos having holidays but surely having them at this time of the year is not giving due diligence enough to the job. Mahoney would have him on speed dial but it's not the same. Picks 2 & 3 MAY become great players but we need big bodied mids NOW. This is what Roos has stated previously. And I can't wait for the puff piece on the website saying what a successful trade period it has been for us. Because it hasn't. Feeling deflated at the moment. This club is becoming irrelevant and it will affect our future.
  10. I've just gone through the AFL prospectus and the only player that could help us with the initials LM is Leigh Montagna. The other players are :-Liam McBean, Lincoln McCarthy, Luke McDonald, Luke McGuane annd Luke McPharlin. Can't see Montagna joining the Dees but the Saints do like offloading veterans to bring in the kids.
  11. To be announced at 12:30 Simon Goodwin appointed to the Dees
  12. On Twitter just now Mick Warner from HS reporting Sando and Goodwin have the same management company and that Goodwin is NOT going to the Crows.
  13. We need Bernie Vince to get in Danger's ear about what a great move it would be. Plus being financially set up for life, back home in Victoria, playing under a proven coach in Roos.
  14. I hope Motlop is injured cause he's been shite tonight. Varcoe has improved but he is still a liability.
  15. After reading the link, is there anyone Melbourne is not linked to? It seems we are pursuing half the league. I know we are in need of established players but there are some spuds that have been mentioned. We look desperate (guess we are). In Roos I trust.
  16. Could have had him if Gary Lyon would have called him prior to the Neeld signing. Apparently was happy to talk.
  17. Probably deserved in my opinion. Very weak effort by Witts.
  18. Malthouse is an intense character, no doubt about that, but he is exactly what Carlton need right now. They should resign him for another 2 years right now. He needs to turn that list over but until his contract is renewed that won't happen. I bet Richmond would look at him.
  19. Salem on as the sub, kicks an awesome goal. Why was he sub? Is this guy the real deal?
  20. I wish him all the best. The only player that gave me and my daughter the time of day a couple of years ago at the family day.
  21. What about Tom Rockliff? Benalla boy, absolute gun player. Voss stuffed him around playing him out of position last year now Leppitch seems to be doing the same. Lions aren't gonna be good anytime soon. We have more upside than them surely. I think we had a crack at him last year. Not sure if he resigned but if not I'd be trying him again.
  22. I agree with everything else written on this topic. Geez even the SANFL side Sturt have a bigger range of merchandise than us. I think New Balance need a bigger input into this. Why don't they have a link to their own website? New Balance are mainly known as an athletic footwear brand anyway, not so much their clothing which is ironic as they don't manufacture football boots.
  23. Robbo certainly has the gift of the gab. I was listening to him last week at the Ballarat Demons family day. Very polished performer. He is a very good public speaker. And he doesn't sugarcoat things. We have been crap for a long time and he didn't shy away from that and let everybody know that there is a lot of hard work involved to be competitive with the best teams. But talk is cheap. Performances like Friday night will help turn the page for the MIGHTY MFC!!!
  24. Good on you mate. Ha, I spend heaps of time studying too. My wife laugh's at me. She just doesn't get it. I was using Higgo's spreadsheet from the Jock Reynolds website. It does help with planning prior to SC opening. But let's be honest until we see rookies and where coach's are going to play certain players it's all subjective.
