Hawks have around $7000 BS Tasmainian memberships which would deliver little $. Also their figure is otherwise inflated by what looks like a one off post premiership bandwagon.
-
I believe the figure is around 24000. History tells me we will just beat it.

Walls was gushing about him last week before the tankers wheels fell off. Be interested to know if he still has the rose coloured glasses on this week?
-
I had wanted to believe that he would turn into a game breaking mid/forward. Right now I think he must have peaked the week Craig Cameron saw him. The best I think we can hope for is a Jason Johnston or Phil Read type.

Three Collingwood fans charged over alleged bashing
diesel replied to Straight Sets Simon's topic in Melbourne Demons
Wasn't the bloke in the picture under your post driving around town with a bloke called Christopher Wayne Hudson. Then late last year suspended by his club for hiding from the truth when his drunk team mate smashed his car into two others. What these sorts of examples accumulate to become is a culture which manifests in the simpletons who worship it. Your not the sharpest tool but your one all right. -
I think it goes back to the early 80's when he was third in line to the FF position at Richmond behind Roach and Jackson. Jacko got the call from Mebourne and BT didn't. Jacko became a rock star and BT couldn't live up to it at Richmond, got traded to the unwashed and was turfed off their list the year before they won a flag. In a nutshell, he's bitter!

Don't really care since it's not our home game! Just hope a decent number of those in red & blue go, especially those who say they can't or won't go Sundays because this is one of only three (yes three) Saturday arvo games in Melbourne.
-
Easy to answer, Collingwood saw we won the spoon and wanted to play us as early as possible. They wouldn't have to request this as part of their fixturing because the AFL would just know it is expected. As for how the AFL treats us I think it is a case of forcing supporters of poorer clubs to face up to growing costs of AFL footy, tip more money in and thereby grow the game.
-
I swear it's because of his soccer background and for getting punched in the GF in 2000, which would be the last time a lot their supporters actually paid any attention to a game. It's a gross generalisation that really shows the author of the article knows jack shite about him, the MFC or probably much else except for what he has plagarised from only half knowledgable football scribes or tools he sits with at the footy.

Robbie Warnock was Melbournes' off season attempt to address our ruck issues. He is now on Carltons LTI list. What would you be saying had we got him? Injuries happen, ruckmen don't grow on trees. In lieu of a 'talent' we were right to stick with what we have. I don't share your view we will miss Jamar. Some exposure of Spencer to senior footy will be beneficial in the long term.

Thanks faulty's. Your work is much appreciated.

does this post reflect your take/interest in CJ's progress at the tankers?
-
It seems that the entire football world is taking this lying down WJ. There is an ubelievable level of complicity on this by the AFL, clubs, commentators and even supporters. I speculated on 'ology that there may be fear in the AFL about legal action regarding retsraint of trade? Of course far worse is the fact that the social ideal that each club could win a flag every 16 years due to the equities brought by the cap and draft goes out the window. Carlton were a broke wreck 2 years ago with a terrible list, past it coach, brawling board and dud president. Who says money can't buy happiness?
-
For the first time in a while we have no spin coming from the board and you aren't happy? He has not said we will give it away! BTW, in caes you weren't paying attention, board nominations were called for months ago and no one new put their hand up. Are you surprised? Because I'm not. Even those who haven't considered it yet would know Melbourne is a cheap sponsorship option, exposure and finals prospects wise. Maybe Stynes message will bring some more potential sponsors out of the woodwork. Keep in mind in this busines environment that any CEO announcing a sponsiorship deal will want to say to their shareholders that they have got value for money, Stynes message also provides this opportunity. Now we just need a CEO sponsor with some Kahunas!!

He should have stayed at my house over christmas, he would have put on 10 kgs eeeeeeasy!

Did you live through the 80's? Junkets are a way of life at the top, free ticket here, free admisson there. One of the reasons I go too very few events, because as a ticket purchaser and consumer I am basically there to subsisdise freebies.

One of the few players from this era I never met (sadly) and someone I didn't know a lot about until after his passing. A massive loss for the club as a player but more so as a person IMO. Here's to Broady!!
-
Dooh! Lesson learned!
-
What is the point? At the time in 2006 he was playing well! I wish I had as much spare time as you a week out from Christmas!
-
Gave me a laugh as well. I am surprised Liam Pickering bothered responding. There would been a discusssion/debate in the FD at some time over whether to keep CJ (Pickering dramatically or perhaps laugably calls this a split). The decision has been made and if Pickering really thinks Melbourne would re-draft CJ then he has his head you know where!

The Ox names Allen Jakovich - most talented Demon
diesel replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
John Daly? I would agree basketball in this country is devoid of any personalities but if you want worldwide sterilisation of a sport look at tennis. Except for the few in the womens game who have looks the sport is full of robots. Djokovic is a character and the Willaims sisters bring something different but on court = game face robots. As for Jakka, he is the man who rekindled my interest in foootball -
Sibosado - Possible Pre-Season #1 Draft Pick from 2008
diesel replied to Tex's topic in Melbourne Demons
I read the article on Sibosado in The Aged. Boy don't these player managers give good advice! An honest assessment of where he is at in the interview but little promotion of himself or indicate he is willing to put in the hard yards. Even the photo, in a hammock with his dog didn't project an image of a bloke desperate for a spot on an AFL list. Most likely a waste of time IMO and the reason why he wasn't drafted. -
Doesn't worry us what the crowd is because we get the $$$ anyway. Personally I would rather we played an SA or WA club in Canberra because they are poor drawing games in Melbourne whereas we have ususally had respectable crowds V Sydney at the 'G'.

JB. It is you who needs to back up your argument with facts. Who are the businessmen running from Casey? What evidence do you have Prismall and Warnock were put off by Casey? We never approached O'Keefe so far as the club would lead us to believe. Proof please? Otherwise this is an opinion piece and as we all know opinions are like a...holes, everyones got one. And for your future reference a winning environment is what you create, not where you go. You give the impression of more of hanger on than a go getter so you probably wouldn't subscribe to this.
