  1. Looks like the forward line-up for this weeks game (in - Kossie). Hoping for the Weed but looking less likely.
  2. Up to 2018, the game plan suited Brayshaw and served him very well - chaos ball and get the ball forward. It was perfect for him - just bang the ball forward and rely on the frenzied contest.... That's changed and he can't. Unless he's 5 metres in the clear and running with the play he never, ever looks where he's kicking. I cant think of too many times he's looked for a player outside the contest and he routinely ignores an open player to bang it the boot to no one. Unlike others, I like his skill set and think he's a smart footballer (apart from the defensive running) but he's stuck in chaos ball play (IMO) and doesn't seem able to adjust. I hope he can because he has a lot to offer.
  3. If you loose an emergency player, aren't you allowed to replace them with another?
  4. Happy with the changes. Like most, surprised at Hunt but who doesn't love more speed. I assume he plays forward, where he's trained (?). Surprised by Lockhart and hope to see him back there soon. Hope they smash 'em Hate Carlton - Go Dees
  5. Here's my guess with all those ins: Jetta OMac May Salem Smith Lockhart Tomlinson Viney Langdon Petracca Jackson Bennell Pickett TMac Fritsch Gawn Oliver Brayshaw Jones Rivers Harmes Melksham Lever (Knee)
  6. He was the first player I looked for on the chart too
  7. No, Jordon's been moved to the midfield
  8. I'm a bit stumped why Joel Smith is now training with the backs. Why would you scrap the forward idea after one preseason game when he kicked 4 goals on one leg? I get that he's a fringe player but, with speed to burn and an excellent leap I see him as a better forward prospect. If he manages to start clunking some of those marks when sailing over packs then lookout. To me, his weaknesses are his kicking and his footy nouse. Without a lot of games, he might get more exposed in the backline.
  9. Heading down to KP for the last game of torture against the cats, I could not fail to notice that after every Geelong goal the crowd would cheer, then the cheering would die down as the ball travelled back to the middle. Unfortunately they also had the fake crowd recording as well which could be heard when the real fans stopped. it would then abruptly switch off. It was totally cringe worthy. So it's a big fat no from me if it's that amateurish.
  10. I wouldn't be surprised if existing sponsors are given the jumper space at no extra cost. They've hardly had a dollar's value in their sponsorships this year. Pretty much 3 months of nothing. If that's the case, my preference would be for it to go ahead then be banished at the end of the season. It detracts too much from the jumper.
  11. If we have the poxy twilight time slot, I doubt it. We need the 7:30pm game!
  12. Preuss is a must if Gawn is injured. Outs: KK, Nietschke (injured) For me the rest would be: Jordon, Hunt, Baker, Wagners (x2), Smith (no match fitness), Bradtke, Brown (assuming Petty is ready to go, or swap), Rivers. If Bennell was aiming for the middle of the year then he might be on track, but it's a massive risk Vanders is in the same boat given his constant injuries - it might be better to bring both in for the second hub (or whatever they do)
  13. Lol. With Harley Bennell's reputation (in term of injury and off-field behaviour), he's hardly anyone's idea of a PR exercise!
  14. Here it is! He was talking about his grandson Noah Gown who unfortunately plays for Essendon: https://www.sen.com.au/news/2020/04/28/the-essendon-youngster-who-was-nearly-lost-to-football/
  15. I'm very happy we have another voice on the MCC board! To me it's critical given the profile of the other (unwelcome) existing tenants and wannabe tenants. I suspect Howcroft's place on the board has a bit to do with his advertising nous/experience.
  16. What a line-up! Clint Bizzell then.........that's it
  17. That's a tough one. Lovett is clearly the better player, but Stawbs was one of my all time faves.
  18. Isn't James Hird in the buying / selling clubs caper these days? I thought it was soccer clubs but maybe not exclusively? I'd laugh if Hird sold the bombers.
  19. That's a good effort getting the Geelong 'born and brewed' beer sponsoring the Dees. Bad luck [censored]!
  20. I believe the issue with the many young players was they'd gone to painstaking lengths with their individual programs of adding kgs in the preseason and off-season, only to see it all blown at the camp. The players were then back to square 1 (or worse) and spent their two week Christmas break recovering and trying/failing to get it back on. Personally, I'd be filthy and wonder why I'd bothered. Then there's the well documented lack of medical supplies / treatment. To me it shows the club hadn't thought it through resulting in a communication breakdown. It certainly wasn't a good look in the media and we had certainly moved on ....thanks Jordan!
