Delistings/trades at end of the season
Bombay Airconditioning replied to Northern Summer's topic in Melbourne Demons
For those that don't rate Aish have you considered the following - under developed - poorly coached - in and out of the side - injuries - weight of expectation considering his family's history - debut too early Or do those only apply to our players? -
MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 11
Bombay Airconditioning replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
He can do that but he's either lost a touch of pace or where not getting it out to him quick enough because he's getting caught a bit, this Campese style goose step isn't working for him. -
MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 11
Bombay Airconditioning replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
One thing that made Geelong such a dominant side was its versatility. Players like Bartell, Chapman, Stevie J, Kelly, Corey ect could all rotate through the midfield as well as dominate in the either the forward line, the backline or in some cases both. Why was he left out round 1 for Salem? -
MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 11
Bombay Airconditioning replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Consistently emotional - I'll take that as a backhanded compliment, thanks I love my footy and my team. Without logic?? Again like last week lets see what happens. How many teams in recent years have taken in small defender on the bench into a game? It's normally 4 mids or 3 mids and a utility. If Grimes were to play this week I would of thought he would named on the ground with Cross upto the wing, Toump to the bench. He may well play I just don't see it happening. -
MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 11

Grimes 5th again on extended bench, despite all our injuries. Not part of midfield rotations. Possibly all over. -
I wouldn't be holding any club to ransom when attempting to offload Dawes at years end. My main concern would them taking over his contract.

POST MATCH DISCUSSION - Round 10

The fact that we're discussing whether or not somebody decided to have a crack is a problem in itself. -
My 3 word player analysis v Collingwood
Bombay Airconditioning replied to joeboy's topic in Melbourne Demons
I don't think Tmac is that way inclined "believing own publicity". He got beaten fair and square by a rampaging Cloke. In 8 weeks time we play the Pies again and he gets a chance at redemption. -
Paul Roos - don't give us more excuses!
Bombay Airconditioning replied to Soidee's topic in Melbourne Demons
Exactly, something called accountability. Why can't these so called leaders lead, communicate, execute. As much as I'm frustrated by the injuries it's giving everyone a run. There are no more excuses, none. No more coming back from double something surgery, no more poorly coached for too long, no more debuted too early, no more weight of expectation, no more being made captain affected my ability to kick the bloody footy. You're all happy to put your hands out for big contracts but come time to deliver there's always bloody something and I'm sick of it. I thought all these camps away were about empowering the players, trust, leadership. Tactics would have been discussed before the game and during the breaks, show some initiative....someone. You hear players like Hodge say "I've been given the freedom to go back or to push up to the middle of the ground depending on how the game is panning out". Yes Clarkson still makes calls from the box but if he can see something happening he has footy smarts to make a call whether it be him or one of his teammates to make a change, he also has the trust of his coach and his teammates that it's the right call. -
And someone said during the week we would make 5-6 list changes at seasons end. We will make 11 again, the most allowed per year.

Didn't realise Grimes was part of midfield rotations.

I don't have any excuses for Brayshaw

Jack watts has laid a tackle ....I repeat

Need for elite disposal

Don't corral the opposition bloody go at them.

Who said they heard Pendles was going to miss, is this still the case?
-
Would be nice if he brought something to the table.

Delistings/trades at end of the season

Every player should be targeting their opponent every game and should expect to be targeted themselves. If he's carrying an injury he shouldn't be playing like Tyson. -

Here's a stat - ability to stand up and perform consistently under pressure. Could be measured in %. Sick of hearing a certain player is an "outside" player, is that meant to justify poor performances? Because plenty of other teams have outside players that play pretty consistent football. And to those who then hide behind "the coach praised this aspect of his game", is the coach going to hang him out to dry with media when he's obviously already mentally weak and potentially on the trade table at years end? This is not just about Watts it's about 1/3- 1/2 half the bloody list. We should simplify things and use the stat "not upto AFL standard and never will be" or "plays on his terms". I think we will win today and if we do I don't suddenly think everyone is untouchable because I've seen how these same players have performed against the Hawks/Swans/Freo. I just don't rate Collingwood that highly this year. Then we've got the chorus of "well if they're not motivated after listening to Neale they never will be" or the "this is our grand final" again both crap. How about they're highly paid sportsman, is that not motivation enough. Don't worry though because half the team will let us know when they're ready to have a crack. -
