Post match Discussion "Fire away"
Bombay Airconditioning replied to What's topic in Melbourne Demons
Let's use Richmond as an example. They have made the last 3 finals series and have been bundled straight out. They have been smashed in the media/social media and by their own supporters. Depending on who you listen to and who you believe they are in their premiership window, "top 4 certainties". If you supported them you'd like to think they would use the pre season to not only work on fitness/skills/game plan but to address the issues that have stood in their way. In Richmonds case it's arrogance and choking. Last year they beat Hawks/Freo/Sydney yet lost to lesser opponents come finals. Round 1 they fell over the line against Carlton, they walked of the ground high fiveing and back slapping each other like they'd won a final. Cotchin/Hardwick should of stopped them singing the song. The players should have been told they were lucky to win and considering the last 3 seasons that performance was not even close to an acceptable standard. But no, they sung the song with all the gusto, again thinking they're part of something special. I texted my mate straight after that game and said "I bet they lose next week because they have t learnt". If Hardwick was foolish enough to put it down to round 1 cobwebs then he only has/had himself fooled. Freo : have some very skilful players, but more importantly are a very well drilled side. Continually get top 4 finishes on the back of building a fortress at home and getting enough away wins against weaker sides. Yet come finals get found out through lack of scoring. You'd think they would be smart enough to address this over the pre season after years of being so close and....no, it's the same old crap again and again. Teams might tire in the second half until rotations are fully adapted to but by then the damage is already done in some cases. -

Roos spoke about the players getting ahead of themselves, maybe the coaches are guilty of this. -

All things considered this is the worst loss in the history of the game. -

What's the go with the zone or this caralling of players, it's clearly not working. -

MATCH PREVIEW & TEAM SELECTION - ROUND 2, 2016
Bombay Airconditioning replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Regardless of how much we win by today I want Nathan Jones to insist on a low key singing of the song and to keep celebrations at a minimum. After Richmond defeated Carlton last week I took a screen shot (from the AFL site)of the Richmond players walking off the ground high fiveing each other and carrying on like they had won a final. I sent it to my mate with the caption "they've already lost next week". If Cotchin was a real captain he wouldn't have allowed his team to sing the song at all. A performance like the one they served up last Thursday night should have been deemed not worthy. By all means celebrate a win but keep it in perspective, our first gamers got the traditional Gatorade shower last week, this week needs to be different. Today is preparation for North next week. -
Don't agree, everyone I know watches Friday night footy regardless of playing. It's meant to be a blockbuster game, a game between Bulldogs and Port at Ettihad would have just as big a audience (take away the interstate team factor) purely because it will be a ripping game to watch.

It's hard to spot him with his head ducked all the time.

And now for the press conference....
-
Yes, I was getting carried away.... On a serious note when you get a chance have a look, they have a horror run. Yes Lids and Edwards didn't play but neither did Swan or Sidebottom.

Led by example.

Have you looked at their draw yet? It's in the Richmond thread.
