  1. Either/or, I thought the point had some merit.
  2. It's Geelong cant beat them today....
  3. Quick umpires, give Geelong the lead....again.
  4. What a play from Hodge.
  5. Umpiring terrible.
  6. Someone made a great point yesterday (might have been P-man or Monnocular, can't remember) if Watts maintains his purple patch do we look to drop possibly Frost and play the extra runner.
  7. I'm genuinely bloody stoked for him Jumbo, he's only 25 and has been relatively injury free. Five more years of that and lookout.
  8. Sorry how could I forget your all time classic "he's a great public speaker".
  9. You must have me confused with someone else. Yes I have given Watts a pasting over the year as I have Grimes. But have not suddenly fallen for him, I have maintained the same stance all along. FOR THE RECORD : WATTS HAD ELITE DISPOSAL AND FOOTY SMARTS WELL BEFORE ROOS SHOWED UP. IT ALSO HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE OTHER PLAYERS AROUND HIM. HE HAS HAD AN ADULT BODY FOR A COUPLE OF SEASONS NOW. HIS CHANGE OF FORM IS PURELY BECAUSE JACK HAS DECIDED TO IMPOSE HIM ON THE CONTEST AND ATTACK THE FOOTY. SKILLS AND FOOTY SMARTS HAVE NEVER BEEN AN ISSUE. HIS MENTAL APPLICATION HAS BEEN. AFTER SATURDAYS GAME JACK IS NOW ARMED WITH THE KNOWLEDGE THAT HE CAN INFLUENCE THE OUTCOME OF A GAME ALL BY HIMSELF, SOMETHING HE'S BEEN ABLE TO DO FOR YEARS. That's my take, it hasn't changed, it won't change, it's how it's always been. Back to my multis....
  10. At least some posters post what they are actually thinking as opposed to reading through the thread first to get a feel for what might be seen as popular. My personal favourite are the posters who get the knives out when a player asks for a trade or is being shopped around by the club. Trengove being a great example.
  11. Forget? He was dropped for round 23 last year.
  12. Clown school, regular posters are aware of my stance on Watts. Most criticism has been centred around Watts refusal to attack the ball/contest. His disposal and footy smarts have never been in doubt, just a refusal to buy into the never ending excuses that were rolled out. How are stocks of black and gold margarine in your local supermarket??
  13. Who's missing....Sandy, Bennell?
  14. Yesterday he was sensational but he's been in the system for 7-8 years. He's had the body he has now for at least the last 2 years. Most have agreed he's always had the talent but it's been his mental application that's held him back, I don't think it is Roos that has turned him around, I'm blooding hoping it was Goodwin, because that holds us in good stead. As for comments "players x, y or a delivered the ball to him. He's had numerous opportunities in years gone by all be it the delivery not as good but in pressure games that will/may always be the case, he now fully believes in himself and understands he can influence the results of games by his action. He imposed himself on that game and was the difference. And yes Jumbo I'm bloody enjoying it, just cant have a drink as I'm on call all weekend.
  15. Incorrect ananolgy, he was more than the icing yesterday.
  16. I'm no stranger to going early. So....only four teams can win it. hawks eagles port doggies Freo or should I say Ross Lyon has a wealth of talent at his disposal yet fails to understand that the game evolves. Roos Swans Crows Geelong will all be there about I was wrong about Collingwood. Not sure Jeremy Cameron is feeling so smug now. Tigers are a mess.
  17. And about bloody time too. I have often led the charge against Watts and was hoping he was traded last year. Having said that I have always maintained he has elite disposal and reads the play better than most but his reluctance to attack the contest meant that it all counted for nothing. He's had a great pre season and yesterday was a break out game for him in his 7th season. Now compare that to Weitering's game on Thursday night playing in a side that resemble the Demons of years ago. Yesterday is now the minimum standard, yes he'll have the odd bad game but we need more of what we saw in the last qtr. Would love to know what clicked for him, considering this is his 3 year under Roos I'm starting to think maybe McCartney or Goodwin.
  18. Yes but we only have to look back as far as last year and the St.Kilda game. We are only starting to do what many consider "basics", yes we'll take the win but there's room from improvement across the board. We cannot afford to become complacent.
  19. Can we sort this quoting issue....please.
  20. Strategy, getting players game fit. Maybe we plan to try and run some teams off their legs later in the year if needed.
  21. I can admit I got them wrong. Possibly read to much into their NAB cup win against Geelong. I had them taking care of Sydney last night. In hindsight they need a more experienced big body down back. My Magpie mate said tripple M Melbourne said two weeks ago that the Pies has approached Tmac's management, I think they would be wasting their time. Hurley will be at the Pies or Hawks next year. Apparently he's stopped training with the rest of them.
  22. CBDees do you know when Sydney's COLA is finally phased out? Tippet is overhyped and overpaid and has yet to gel with Buddy. If Sydney had their time again they would of shipped of Tippet and kept the Mummy.
  23. Well I'll be honest.... i have large money on a 4 game multi with Tigers, Suns, Port, Eagles to win a decent amount. I also took 8 x $10 Multis taking Tigers, Suns, Port, North, Hawks, i took dees/giants, North/crows, dogs/Freo each way and I took Collingwood, I thought they would win. At least I'll clean up on my first multi.
