  1. You can't deny he hasn't shown some good signs over the 20-25 games he's played, consistency is obviously a problem for him right now. Tonight he's done close to stuff all but so has Dal Santo.
  2. Bringing up Dawes and Grimes isn't irrelevant at all, many on here think they offer little to nothing just like some think the same of Daw. Only difference is Dawes and Grimes have had plenty of chances.
  3. You told me Grimes was a lock for round 1.
  4. I find it amusing Daw isn't afforded the truck load of excuses that our players have been over the years. He's played what, 25 games??
  5. And some keep calling for Grimes and Dawes.
  6. I agree with that, I would add that I don't think Hardwick will be there next year, I think Richmond will move on him, they will obviously have to pay him out but if they don't they will lose members, not for ever but they will walk and only come back after a change is made.
  7. Knights was ahead of his time. Whilst his gameplan needed some refining look at how teams like the Bulldogs are playing now.
  8. For me it's more about "smarts" than "skill". We need to keep it simple, in wet conditions marks are readily dropped, we need to position ourselves around contests accordingly.
  9. Cheers Jumbo, been looking forward to this all year. This will be my first game for the year, was actually planning on flying down for QB but we were short staffed at work for various reasons and couldn't get away. Sydney are gettable this weekend.
  10. He did but I thought Frost did as well. The dropping of one maybe even two talls (which most likely won't happen) would only be for this Sunday's game where we could get as much as 4 inches of rain.
  11. We are definitely too tall on paper. If the weather prediction is right Dawes and Oscar should both come out.
  12. Yeah you're right, was just looking at that. Two weeks ago we got smashed with storms, now whilst it won't be that bad again they are predicting quite a bit of rain so I would've thought we have one tall too many. Tippet is out, and they have an array of dangerous mid size players. As you know i haven't been a huge fan of Grimes over the years but on Sunday the stage is set for him to come in, all jokes aside I think there will be some ordinary skills on display at times from a raft of players due to the weather. I didn't name him earlier because I think the footy department has rightly or wrongly moved on from him. We are a chance on Sunday, people talk a lot about wet weather players, I lean more towards smart players. A few backs watching GC v Sydney, I said to myself numerous times why isn't there 2 smalls around the pack when the ball is bombed inside 50, one front and centre and one goal side over the back where the ball more often than not bounces through for a behind after key forwards fail to mark it.
  13. Three tickets arrived last night and it's going to be pouring down rain on Sunday. Get stuffed...rain will not be a deterrent. Considering the weather Out : Oscar In : Harmes
  14. She's already is our woman's team, racks up some good numbers, been playing for a few years now.
  15. Daisey on one side, Ellie Blackburn on the other. End poll.
  16. Apparently Scoop McClure tweeted that H may miss the rest of the season with personal issues, anyone else hear this??
  17. Out : Melbourne based members In : Bombay Airconditioning
  18. The answer is yes, same as tall defenders, it's easier to punch the ball away from your opponent than to take the pack mark. Look at Geelong and Hawthorn, their small/mid size defenders/forwards can/could roll through the midfield better than any other team. They drafted players with that exact purpose is mind....flexibility. I like the way Jetta goes about it but if you think he's in our top 5 players than we look at the game differently, and that's fine.
  19. I thought the league average was 230-240k, if the league average is 350k I'd be cautious about going to much over.
  20. Even if McDonald doesn't go down, if Frost plays the remainder of the season in defence he could be our no.1 tall defender by years end. Many will disagree and that's fine. As for the rest of your post, you've actually supported my point, if we were to lose a number of mids to injury coukd Jetta step up into the middle, if Jetta went down could we put one of our mids down to the back pocket....yes.
