  1. Out : Hunt (inj?) Spargo, Pedersen In: Melksham, Hibberd, Kent/Hannan Hibbo and Melksham put in a solid training session Saturday morning. They were out on the track before the main group and continued to train hard well after the group was gone. Intense running exercises and ball skills. From that observation they seem ready to go. I’d give Garlett one more go. At least he looked dangerous in a small patch during the last quarter. He seemed switched on for a few minutes albeit too late but was taken off just when I thought he could cause some damage. Instead Spargo was kept on and was struggling to kick over a jam tin.
  2. This was very similar to the Round 1Cats loss. Allowed the Swans to control the tempo in the second and third quarters. Easy exits out of defence with short precise kicks and had us going side to side aimlessly. Structures were non existent in that period. @Lucifer's Hero is pretty much spot on after what I saw from ground level. The lapse cost us Round 1 and it cost us today. Yes we kicked bad but I can’t hang my hat on that. If one of those is a goal, ball is back in the centre and who knows what happens. We had a chance to win the game but let’s not get fooled by the last quarter. Swans were hanging on for dear life with 2 less men.....and to allow Heeney to camp in the goalsquare for the entire term on his own is astounding. We didn’t send one player to at least stand next to him and impede him at all. Edit: This is an opinion on today only. I still believe we can win the last two with Hibbo and Melksham back.
  3. Fair enough @Macca I thought about starting the ‘Monkey Business’ thread but it’s a bit difficult articulating without promoting the gambling aspect. It seems like a separate thread is needed if we are to keep posting sports multis, odds and specials on various sports. Topics on the main footy forum have posters constantly posting odds ( guilty myself on that aspect a few times) and of course it’s not everyone’s cup of tea. I’m all open to more ideas on how we can get the thread started. With spring around the corner the thoroughbred talk will be in full swing on here. I’m happy to tone it down and stick on topic.
  4. MCC predicting 49,000. Let’s make some noise and take back the ‘G’.
  5. The tonic for my Game Morning nerves has worked a treat since the Geelong game. Find a song and let it repeat for 5 hours. Mine is High Hopes by Panic! At the Disco. Hoping for another decent lead at the first break and making the Swans chase the rest of the game.
  6. That makes sense. From all reports he trained and looked fine on Thursday, we were hoping his absence today wasn’t anything serious.
  7. Hannan is the held over emergency and he trained fully this morning at Goschs whereas Vanders was a no show. If Hannan is a late in for Vanders tomorrow which player do we hold over since all other emergencies played today at Casey?
  8. Wow, you clearly see the ump behind the kicker telling him to get out of the space and the trainer still encroached. Two umps looking on and nothing.
  9. Why isn’t that 50 against the Port trainer for coming within 5 metres of Ryan on a set shot?
  10. Hmmm, West Coast are close enough to pinch this one.
  11. ? Me too Wadda. I thought we were home, all good though, just nabbed the winner in Adelaide.
  12. Surely he’s retired by now.
  13. The odds for either team to win under 15.5 pts in Hawthorn v Geelong games should be $1.10
  14. Woo Hoo for Voo Doo!! Managed to get $5 which isn’t too bad after Fat Odds with Neds. Outstanding win, well done @Wadda We Sing
  15. It was always the risk Wadda. As mentioned previously the horse has settled well back in its last few starts and has been motoring home late, possibly too late. I thought after the claim and the soft track the horse would overturn its fortunes.
  16. Hawthorn foot down! Cats rattled big time at the moment.
  17. Hoping it’s general soreness from last week. I went through Thursday’s training thread and no mention of AVB training or not training on that day. Did any track watchers notice him on Thursday?
  18. I agree Macca. In baseball there’s no worrying about the tie as extra innings count to the end result. I’ll continue with the line bets in the MLB also. Sorry, I didn’t mean it to sound bad, you win some, you lose some. Soccer is impossible to predict sometimes but for some reason I persist with it.
  19. Best Bets multi ( gallopers) is on. Odds of $145 after the multiplier. Sports multi off to a shaky start, reload fellas. Roughead a late out for the Hawks.
  20. Yep, that’s what I’m thinking as well. Hopefully there’s no issue with Vanders.
  21. Nice report @BigRussian. My son thought he saw Vanders walking out initially but I didn’t see him out there at all. Did you see him out there?
  22. Very light session that lasted about 30 minutes. Some light kicking drills to begin with and Max was involved kicking both feet. A couple of goal kicking drills followed and Max didn’t participate fully. Went for some straight runs under they eye of one of the coaches. Went up for a few jumps centre bounce style also. Didn’t seem hampered although he left a tad earlier than everyone else. Definately no AVB out there. Hibbo and Melksham still out there putting in the hard yards with running.
