Would struggle to tie his own shoe laces on last night’s showing. Very worrying.
-
Going by some of the aerial shots in the first quarter it was evident Port did some really good homework on us during the short break. They set up really well behind the ball and we had no idea how to counter it. Made even easier by our predictable movement from the back. Their work rate to cover both sides of the ground from our exits was exceptional and it looked like none of our players wanted to take responsibility or risks to try an open up the game. The few times we managed to break it open our skills were woeful and the ball was bouncing back in a hurry. Some of our shocking decision making and skill execution had to be seen to be believed. We might have trained specifically for these shorter breaks EPL style but we were made to look like Norwich City. Very disappointing.

Look at them still smashing our bodies. Insulting on so many fronts.
-
The most confident play we have seen all night, May casually walking to retrieve the ball knowing he touched it before the review.
-
Seriously looks like Port are setting up with 40 players across the ground. Out of ideas at the moment we are.

COVID Breaches by Clubs Could Derail Season

The Dumb[censored] continues. -
Was thinking exactly the same Luci until I read on. It was mooted that the clash would take place in Queensland, where both teams will be, but instead the Roos and Dees will travel to Adelaide on the morning of the game.

Was just a reading an article and came across this DD. I can’t attach links for some reason, here’s an extract. ROOS, DEES SET FOR VENUE SWITCH _ Tom Morris reports..._ North Melbourne’s Round 11 game against Melbourne will now be played at the Adelaide Oval. Foxfooty.com.au understands the Sunday evening timeslot on August 9 will remain as planned.

Good stuff. Blended in nicely, he’s only missed two games since his debut.

I’m guessing they count those that fall short and OOB titan. For example, there was a snap at goal by them to the left of screen and the ball shanked backwards about 30 metres and landed to an unmarked Robinson. We had 17 shots at goal according to the stats.

Because we all love punishment, I’ve watched Frittagate several times. He was told at least twice to give the ball back problem was, in the first instant the Lions player actually pushed Fritta back to the ground. It was after the second time he handed the ball back.
-
I thought he did his job well along with May and Lever. Yeah you can always pick out one passage of play but you can lament a play from any given player on the day. Fact is the Lions generated 27 shots at goal from their 42 inside 50 (64%). Extremely high i would have thought. 18 were registered scores with Hipwood and McStay kicking a combined 1.2 and no goal assists.

Honestly thought we were going to win this one in the last 5 minutes. The Burgo effect is real, just a bit more poise needed in pressure cooker situations. Thought our second quarter cost us dearly in the end but I can’t stop thinking about the Hannan to Fritta pass. A bit harsh to single out a moment like that, just wished Hannan slowed down a tad and assess the situation like Jackson did a few moments earlier to set up Melksham for his 3rd. Hibbo was all alone inboard about 60 out and Viney seemed to have a paddock in front of him 30 out. This is just a minor vent. Another what could have been. As much as this stings the boys they have to forget it in a hurry. We will be picking a side in two days. Jackson looks the goods, steady head on him and like his decision making. Lockhart unsighted in the first quarter but thought he was real important as the game went on. I just can’t love Viney enough. His work rate has been off the charts the last 3 weeks.

Clearly The Hoff is saving his best for us next week. He’s been terrible the last fortnight.

Yeah but how good watching fans lose their marbles at decisions. Someone let us in please.

What they're saying down at Stanley Street
Dee Zephyr replied to Queanbeyan Demon's topic in Melbourne Demons
• I really hope we have a thumping win over the Melbourne Football Club. Not a fan of their fans and given we haven't had a big win in a while, hope we do so this week. Saw this earlier in the week. We’re a nice bunch aren’t we? @DemonOX and other fellow ‘landers that attend, make sure you belt out a strong rendition of the song should we win. -
Will never forget driving to the footy as a young fella in the late 80s early 90s especially around finals time and seeing a massive Melbourne/Go Demons banner hanging down from the roof of a multilevel storage facility/warehouse on Alexandra Parade near the Smith St intersection. Always excited us young ones.

Scratch Match: Carlton vs Melbourne, Richmond & Essendon
Dee Zephyr replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Going by the report and solitary pic on the Blues’ website we provided the jumpers and Richmond the socks. Like the improvising but not the fact they labelled the team Rich-bourne Bombers. -
Kozzie Pickett's no-stat highlights reel
Dee Zephyr replied to Little Goffy's topic in Melbourne Demons
I’m still curious as to what caused Goody to slam the desk. Maybe it was a result of the Gus handball. Just a guess though. Hawks took it up the other end after that and the ball finished out of bounds with the camera then turning to an unhappy Goody. -
Aaron vandenBerg to miss 2 weeks [CONFIRMED]
Dee Zephyr replied to goodwindees's topic in Melbourne Demons
Wondering how we got him to QLD, can you fly with a fractured cheekbone or did AVB endure a 1000km trip in a Hertz rental? -
Kind of feels like NHL/NBA fixturing. On a plane every second day. Strap in if you love your footy. No bigger challenge than the upcoming month. Really looking forward to it.

Thought that also ht, the next few rounds could be announced later this week according the article. We are just over a week out from Rd 9 and we still don’t know which team we are playing, us fans anyway.
-
Today according to an online article sons, article also states it could just be Round 9 only due to the complex quarantine measures across the states and territories.

A very happy sounding Melbourne supporter just rang up on SEN talkback and sounded exactly like the podcast’s own in @binman.

Ah yes, the 5 minute Hipwood show.
