Not sure why people get so worked up when Cornes and Co put up an opinion on anything football. I think it’s a fair discussion to have especially in the current climate and it’s just like pub talk between mates. It was only an opinion on how to get more footy starved fans into games and i bet there’s a few of those around. I’m not advocating for our game to be moved, I want it to remain as is. For the record Cornes also suggested games after Round 1 should be moved to the ‘G’ from Marvel including our Round 2 game against the Saints.

47 point winners(107-60) I just read. Fyfe dominated in the middle in the first half then was rested after the main break and Walters kicked 4.2 playing predominantly forward.

Clayton Oliver 100 Games Round 1 2021 vs FREO
Dee Zephyr replied to picket fence's topic in Melbourne Demons
Want to give a fellow Dee an almighty scare? Text them ‘Oliver Suspended’, just happened to me. A quick search and I discovered it was of the Damien variety for careless riding at Flemington today.....phew. Loved the dash Clayton showed yesterday on occasions. Round 1 can’t come quick enough. -
I watched most of the second quarter whilst on break today and I only saw Richmond goals and us not so clean with the ball, I left us around 19-20 down. When I next checked the scores we were up by 14 around the midpoint of the 3rd. Still a busy a day and I’ve only quickly skimmed through the thread and apologies if it’s been mentioned already, what were the main reasons for the quick turnaround?

PRACTICE MATCH: vs Richmond - Friday 26 February 2021
Dee Zephyr replied to Bring-Back-Powell's topic in Melbourne Demons
Boys’ alarms should have gone off by now. Score updates would be greatly appreciated for those of us that can only quickly sneak a look in on the phone. -
Good luck to O Mac today, he’s been named as a ‘train on player’ to play for the Blues. Hope he impresses and continues with an AFL career.
-
Good luck to Ryan ( don’t think I’ve ever heard the name) but this comment made me laugh after clicking on the op link/tweet. “Essendon supporters will be stoked. You can tell the Bombers really struggled last year with digital marketing, especially in the third quarter.”

Keep your feet....aargh

There was an also an email from the club about scarf collection next week. Perhaps the Demon Shop could have been added as a place to collect the scarf along with the Jaguar retailers and MCG. Might have added some more traffic through the shop during the week. Interested to see if many members actually visit Jaguar to go pick up their scarf. Just don’t fall for the come back home with a Jag and no scarf trick.

Dee-lightful headline Mr Crompton. Go Dees!

I think the club’s communications in terms of injuries has been good so far this preseason od. They were quick to inform us on Viney, Brown and Weid. Not sure when the Melksham injury occurred but the club might still be assessing the damage before informing us. I’m more annoyed at the tweet, it only tells us Melksham has suffered a set back/injury, nothing else. If Browne had more info why not state that also.
-
Well, still waiting to hear from any source what the damage is. If it’s your standard hammie, he might miss the first two rounds max as we’re still a month away. I was also disappointed with Jake especially defensively last season, but he is one of our better kicks forward of centre and think he can still have a positive impact for us this season.

Is this a standard pop or one of those long term ones?

What is your "Go To" Dees Game Highlights Video
Dee Zephyr replied to Doug Reemer's topic in Melbourne Demons
There’s a few wins in the last 30 years that stand out and I revisit, but I’d have to say the last quarter of the qualifying final against Carlton in 2000 gave me the biggest buzz at a game that I can remember. For individual brilliance, Wiz’s 9 goal second half blitz against the Pies also in 2000 has the most views here I’d say. -
Come on, bounce that ball already! I know we have a few injuries but this time of year is when most households are excited and hanging to watch their team.

The Footy Impact of Victoria's Lockdown
Dee Zephyr replied to La Dee-vina Comedia's topic in Melbourne Demons
That’s good news P2J, but to some.... -
Have to feel for Shae Sloane, was browsing the club site only to read she ruptured her left ACL this time at training over the weekend.

The full fixture for Round 4 was released over the weekend I believe od. We have the Dogs away on Sunday arvo (3:10pm), ticketing details for Victorian matches haven’t been released as yet for obvious reasons. -
WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - MAJAK DAW
Dee Zephyr replied to Lord Nev's topic in Melbourne Demons
For SEN listeners, Alan Richardson will be on with Garry and Tim this morning. Didn’t quite catch what time exactly, I’m sure they will talk about Majak. I also read on the B Brown thread the HS wrote Brown is out for several months, maybe Richo can tell us that’s a typo and that’s not the case. If anyone catches the interview an update would be appreciated, TIA. -
Absolutely, best game I have seen and I think many neutrals would also agree. Highly entertaining Saturday night viewing, that game warranted a crowd in attendance. It was that bloody good. From a free flowing and attacking game in the first half from us, to then having to scrap and fight for every contest because a quality opposition is coming at you hard, shows a mental maturity in this group led by Daisy of course when the game was on the line. It was a proud night for the MFC.
-
Thought Daisy had some huge moments in critical contests that quarter. Good on ya Dees, super win and Shelley Scott no problem slotting it after the siren.
-
Backline reading North’s kicks well, backing themselves and playing in front. Some of the movement has been first class and that was a very exciting quarter to watch.

This is good footy, keep it up Dees.
