  1. Excluding the pink, the jumpers looked great. I love the collars and the cut of the jumper and it is by far the best white alternate jumper Melbourne has had.
  2. Do the maths...
  3. A few observations: At least four goals were the result of Sylvia's long penetrating kicks into the forward line. Beautiful to watch. Watts looks like a footballer and Jurrah is amazing but still has more to offer. Like the look of Cook, Maric has the awareness of Daniel Bell but showed a bit. Joel Macdonald just gets better, loved the work of Rohan Bail. James Strauss is not a smart footballer, would liked to have seen more of Blease.
  4. Two points: 1) Melbourne picked up Jeff White after he only spent two years at Fremantle as a priority pick. Reverse situation, but very similar. 2) If Scully admitted that he was going to GWS half way through the year, should Melbourne continue to play him?
  5. Is Scully worth around $1 million per year? I don't think so. He will be a very good player but I would be surprised if he reached the heights of Judd, Ablett or Goodes.
  6. I am all for confidence and aiming high, but as CTD mentioned, let's make the finals first. The last thing you want is players running around thinking about how they are going to celebrate their Premiership three-peat. The focus, both publicly and behind closed doors should be the job at hand, all the other stuff will come later. And no, it's not a poor title for a thread, it is a fair and justified opinion to have.
  7. I'd like to see his kicking improve before anything else.
  8. What I hate about Twitter is that people often read too much into SMS length pieces of information. Whole news stories are now written based on one-off Twitter quotes that often have no substance behind them or are just a passing thought of the person who writes them.
  9. And this is why I hate Twitter.
  10. Agreed, it was the Soccer player in him early on. Correct choice to lead the club, will no doubt kick a few "Captain's goals" this year.
  11. Gerard Whateley is the best caller of AFL by far, and I am sorry you have little man syndrome.
  12. Good callers of the game, add to the spectacle without over doing it.
  13. The best callers of the game are: - Gerard Whateley - Dennis Cometti - Tim Lane - Anthony Hudson - Glenn Mitchell (unfortunately only covers games in WA) None of them have played football at the top level and funnily enough as well as being the best callers of the game, most have far more football knowledge than the ex-football special comments people. What annoys me most is that "experts" such as Robert Walls and Liam Pickering get paid to state the obvious.
  14. Martin has always been one of the strongest at the club, but for the first time he looks the strongest.
  15. Jurrah's mark. Sydney game. Both Collingwood games. Petterd's Wayne Harmes moment. Jurrah's five goal game against North Melbourne in round 22.
  16. "...well played number nine!"
  17. If I wanted to enhance our flag hopes I would play Campbell, and if winning was the only priority I would play Campbell.
  18. Is he that guy who stalked Ben Cousins when he went to LA to go to rehab?
  19. Anyone able to put it on YouTube?
  20. Is anyone able to put this on YouTube?
  21. Did you even read what you just quoted?
  22. He knows his stuff too, knows more about football (and a lot of other sports) than most people in the media.
  23. Agreed on all counts.
  24. I wouldn't. He admires the MFC and has written some great articles about the club, but I don't see him as following the club as such.
