2011 Player Review - # 13 Jordie McKenzie
Straight Sets Simon replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Kento80 is correct, McKenzie too often doesn't even look to kick as an option, he is too reliant on using the ball by hand which on many occasions has lead to mistakes or avoidable errors. -
Thanks for clearing that up. Thanks for clearing that up.

Just to clarify, GWS must trade O'Meara? They can't keep him? Apologies, I am late catching up with this Mini Draft.

For Casey?

Very good player, could be a star, just needs an extra half a yard of pace.

In a way, but Bartram makes far more mistakes per game and is much more of a liability. Macdonald is genuinely tough and can break the lines like no other player in the side, give me him over Strauss any day. McDonald and Davis may be better than him in a few years, but at the moment Macdonald is better, more experienced and tougher. I am all for playing the kids, but at all times you need a mix of experience, Macdonald is currently best 22.

Obviously Ayres doesn't keep evidence of his coaching intentions in the rubbish bin. After Harvey was sacked I heard Barrett say something along the lines of "I heard murmurs earlier this week". What a crock, no one knew, not even Lyon's management.

Thanks for pinning this. The clapping is annoying, I couldn't remove it unfortunately. -

Keith "Bluey" Truscott - Best & Fairest Night
Straight Sets Simon replied to frankie_d's topic in Melbourne Demons
Were all the players in attendance? -
I thought there were six or seven good players on the ground (for both teams), the rest were just making up numbers. Some of the efforts by Bateman, Shoemakers, Puopulo, Hale and Smith (who I rate) were Melbourne-like. Jordan Lewis looked like one of the only few Hawks at the end who actually tried to get the ball.

Did Don McLardy say "do the Dockers know you are here?". -
No point kicking it into the forward line if there is no one there to kick it to.

One had a contract while the other one didn't?

You don't win two consecutive Liston trophies by just being a "good" VFL footballer. He is an exceptionally good VFL player who has and would do well in the AFL again.

Mark Neeld on ABC Radio Sunday Inquisition
Straight Sets Simon replied to dees189227's topic in Melbourne Demons
Agreed on all points. -
That's exactly what I was thinking of. By that point, Craig was clinging on to dear life and I think he knew he wouldn't be there next year.

Mark Neeld on ABC Radio Sunday Inquisition

Anyone know how to listen to it online? All I get from the 774 website is some weekend guy, not the Sunday Inquisition. -
I really hope he gets picked up by GWS, he was very good yesterday.
-
I love the collar.
-
Agreed, although Craig seems a little senile.
