I think quite a lot of Neeld's ideas were actually pretty good, he just in no way had the skillet to successfully implement them. The pre-game address is a classic example. If you read a transcript of it you would probably think it was reasonable, but when you see and hear the delivery it makes your skin crawl.

I'm with the Brisbane supporters on this one. They took a classy and meaningful jumper and changed it into a cluttered cartoon mess. The difference between this and having a white jumper is the club changed it off their own bat, not because of AFL imposed colour restrictions.

You never mentioned any of that, you pointed out how he was injured and not competing in drills as the basis for your criticism.

I have no issue with bagging for players being unfit, lazy or looking disinterested but getting stuck into a player for being injured is just plain disrespectful.

Obviously for a start anyone can look good at training but the issue for me is that even if Melbourne have improved, the other teams have improved that much more.
