Petraccattack - back on the paddock
Straight Sets Simon replied to mrtwister's topic in Melbourne Demons
I'm not critical of his shape, just genuinely surprised he is so good at basketball as he is built like a rugby player. I think we all need to give thanks he isn't another Morton/Gysberts/Toumpas type. -

With his body type I'm still amazed he was a gun basketball player. -

Here. -
They've taken a hit in recent years by trading away some decent players but what they got in return will see them back up the ladder in no time.

That's the second Friday ankle in a row. -
Excellent.

I think it would be a shame if he left, as frustrating as he can be at times he is a classy player and we don't have many of those.

Recruit of the Year- Garlett?
Straight Sets Simon replied to Lucifers Hero's topic in Melbourne Demons
His output against what he cost us to get him is a massive win for Melbourne. -
We should win.
-
The difference is we won't have to trade for Dangerfield.
-
Maybe we can give him another chance? We could have two top ten picks from the same year if we got Dangerfield as well.
-
Dawes was brought in to be the number two man behind Clark, it's the role he played at Collingwood with Cloke. No one should have every expected him to be the number one man and while his output this year has been down I still think he adds valuable structure.
-
I really do like Cross, but when he gets the ball I just wish he would look forward more often instead of looking for the player running behind all the time.
-
He won't have Vince tagging him anymore either.
-
As much as his marking has been a liability, yesterday he finally got some reward from the umpires for all the chopping of the arms and holding on that he constantly receives.
-
Never say never.

I do. It's the highlight of any Melbourne game. But seriously, I couldn't agree more. What the AFL are doing with football is exactly like what Coca-Cola did with "New Coke" in the 1980's. -

Whilst I wasn't overly upset that we lost (especially as many players were apparently sick), we really need to be winning while the likes of Nathan Jones and Bernie Vince are still playing for us. We can't go through another cycle of expecting the next generation to just naturally improve in the future, the time is now. -
We desperately miss another tall defender in Frost.
