  1. It's about quality, not quantity.
  2. It's a coaching thing, pure and simple. I hate deliberate out of bounds as it stands now so making it even more strict won't change things because most congestion comes from having 30 players around the ball, which is a coaching directive.
  3. He dodged the question about wanting to coach next year for sure.
  4. I've had my say, I don't like the booing and I don't think it is fair but neither is labeling someone a racist without knowing their true motivation for booing.
  5. You could be right, but we don't know. Therefore, I'm not going to label everyone who does boo him as racist just because that could be the reason he is booed.
  6. I don't know, that's why I'm not making assumptions about the people who do it as a whole. Some people claim it is because he takes dives, snipes and complains to umpires. Some people do it because they are racist and do not like him because of his heritage whilst some people do it because he hit Simon Godfrey once.
  7. Skip to 4:44 in the 2010 game, not the Simon Godfrey video. He also got booed in 2011 against Essendon:
  8. Well this is the crux of our arguments and I vehemently disagree with this "cause and effect" assumption.
  9. See the video link I posted earlier, Goodes is being booed in 2010.
  10. I don't know and neither do you, unless you ask every single person who does and they are 100% honest with you. That's my point, you are making assumptions about a large group of people which as akin to other forms of discrimination.
  11. Again, that's a big assumption to make about a group of people because as I have proved Goodes has been booed before 2013.
  12. For the most part I agree, but unless someone can provide proof that that is the motivation for all people who boo him then they are making unfair assumptions about a lot of people.
  13. Can you prove this? I'll happily accept it if you can. Like I mentioned before, in that game in 2010 Goodes was booed when kicking for goal, at times he was booed before 2013. See the video link I posted.
  14. No doubt, one peanut from the game on weekend who got kicked out said things that I believe are clearly racist about Goodes. But my point is, you can't lump everyone into that same basket and assume they are all racist like that guy. As I was hinting to above with my previous comment, making assumptions about large portions of the community who have a common characteristic (in this case they all boo Adam Goodes) is partly what racism (or any discrimination) is about.
  15. It would be good to know the race of the people in this thread too, that way we can make correlations about that particular race and the comments made and use those correlations to make assumptions about all people who are of that race.
  16. I just think it is a big assumption to make about the motivations of all people who boo him. Some are racist no doubt, but I remember people jokingly jeering Adam Goodes in 2010 after this hit three years earlier on Simon Godfrey: In that same game in 2010 at 4:44 of this video you can hear him getting booed. But that's probably because despite Melbourne's dominance that day Goodes was probably best on ground and played out of his skin: For what it's worth I don't like the booing because it's just rude no matter the player, but to automatically assume it is being done simply because of his heritage is unfair.
  17. Why can't what Goodes does on and off the field be separate? A lot of people probably aren't even aware of comments he has made off the field.
  18. Dear Melbourne, this is what Adam Oxley looks like:
  19. I won't lie, I didn't read all of your post.
  20. Again, I may have mentioned this many times before, but at centre bounces why do the forwards start 30 metres out from goal, why not in the goal square? In a perfect world, your forwards are taking marks in front of goal about 20-30 metres out on a lead. If there is a quick kick out of a centre clearance and the forwards are already 30 metres out from goal when they set up, when they lead out they will be about 40-50 metres out from goal. I would love someone to give me a logical explanation as to why this centre bounce formation is better.
  21. Right before the bounce at the Geelong game David King (or someone at Fox Footy) revealed that Melbourne said they will not allow Geelong to play a loose man. We all know the result. Why has the same approach not been taken in all other games since?
  22. True, just using him as an example.
