There has been a clear lack of focus on skills and simple fundamentals under Goodwin. It’s all been about grunt work and running which can work in short periods but isn’t a sustainable way of winning.

I just hope we are absolutely ruthless at the trade table. We need a huge list turnover if we are to capitalise on Gawn’s dominance before he gets too old.

We need more key defenders. 79 just isn’t enough.

It’s the game plan as such which is the issue it is our complete lack of fundamental skills, nous and decision making at a micro level which is what needs to improve. This is one area this year where the coaches completely dropped the ball. We need to get the basics right before any talk of finals can even be considered.

We don’t shepherd as a rule. It’s this lack of basics which is why Goodwin won’t see our his contract.

Imagine being stupid enough to play Fritsch is a backman for over a year.

The number of times Melksham was completely stationary when the ball was kicked to him on Friday night was hilarious.

I just wouldn’t be surprised if what we are seeing is more Goodwin than Jennings.
