5 Years Says Neeld - Who is going to cop that?
Satyriconhome replied to Mongrel Dee's topic in Melbourne Demons
What's wrong CFB, afraid optimism might be contagious, you don't have to read the posts or post yourself, it must be really satisfying in a strange sort of way to be so negative about everything. Although I do admire your many references to pop culture, you obviously fill your waking hours expanding yourself -
5 Years Says Neeld - Who is going to cop that?

"That cannot be good for current and future sponsors, let alone maintaining and attracting an on-going membership/supporter base. Many Foundation Heroes and Debt Demolition contributors are right royally [censored] off right now" How do you know?, you must be speaking to different people than I am, I know at least four players sponsors, and a Foundation hero or two, yes not happy Jan, but certainly/definitely/absolutely not thinking about walking away The football media is on a bandwagon, what a journalist actually step away and say something different, not really, although Peter Ryan had the balls to put a slightly different slant on everything As for the players, Goddard walked away from St Kilda, a club he later cried over, yeah right, it is all about the culture, no it's not As for the membership, the Monday and Tuesday nights are still getting results, working on members who didn't sign up last year, but have now this year, strange that, small numbers but makes a lie of the media and some posters on here I don;t mind debating posters on here, as long as they deal in facts and don't regurgitate Caroline Wilsonisms and Damain Barrett tittle tattle.....I await your reply with interest -

Free agency is what the players have been asking for for years, it is now in place, do you really think players will not use it now. You are burning bridges before we have even reached them, never mind crossing them, Rivers left it freed a spot on the list and we got Terlich, I don't mind that Frawley - has another year to go Sylvia - read every post on here about him, he frustrates, if he leaves - have we lost something/anything, personally I don't want to see him go, but.. Davey - if he puts his head down he may get another year offered, can't see another team being interested in him Watts - he will stay, I would very very surprised if he leaves, but hey it happens -

What do you think he said at the interview, that he would come in and we would win the flag last year? You lay out what you think, under different scenarios, that is why there are two or three interviews, do you really think the board and Schwab didn't know what was required The only thing that shits me at the moment is one G. Lyon trying to get out from under now that he thinks it is all going pear shaped, can't have his reputation tarnished can we -

Five years to fix, no matter the coach, which bit don't you get? -

So you want to get a guy that 'failed' at Carlton, with a team full of no 1 draft picks, that'll fix it, the point I was trying to make, as this topic is about five years, is that Watson said it would take any coach 5 years, there is no magic bullet, so maybe we all need to just suck it up and see what evenuates -
You have been watching the games right, funniest thing I've read about Chip's attitude, or watching through the bottom of a glass like some others on here

5 Years Says Neeld - Who is going to cop that?

Any of the heroes on here this morning, listen to Tim Watson on SEN, a naysayer rang in assuming Neeld is already gone and asked Timbo who he thought would be an ideal replacement, Roos or Bomber Thompson, he said Bomber but also said neither would take the job. He also said that if Neeld leaves whoever took over would need 5 years to get the side to where everybody wants it to be, ie in finals, strange that -

thought most posters on here thought stats were useless Can't be;believe this topic is still going, can't believe some of the posters really think it is going to take 5 years, and think Neeld doesn't want it to change this week, although that being said it is the normal whingers and whiners putting their two bob's worth in with the occasional rejoinder from the likes of myself -
Jazza, you do really need to get out more, Smith St Collingwood, Friday night......you will see all 3....I did last Friday.......in fact the winnies tucked up the shirt sleeve had aviator shades on!!!!!, I was beside myself
-
Not a desperate groupie old chap, just a supporter who supports and the players recognise and appreciate that. I was making a point, not big noting myself, I know I am good, no need to advertise the fact To reciprocate would prefer to be me rather than the sad and bitter personality you seem to be
-
I am not living on glories from 50 years ago, bit sad if you are Old, can't have much of a life Unfortunately think a few of the players are a bit scarred from what has occurred in the last 4 or 5 years, natural when you are dealing with young blokes, but I think they can get out of their funk, just needs time The Club is in a poor position on the field at the moment, but as I said above, we will get out of it, bit of a waste of time continually wallowing in misery, went last week looking forward to the game, same this week, it's just footy, get disgusted and disappointed but then it is forgotten and on again The playing group is not poor, 75% of it is inexperienced, it will get better Peter Jackson will sort out whatever is necessary off the field, unfortunately looks like we will have a loss this year, but it is not the end of the world or the club
-
Er no they're not, depends on the relationship with the players....an example -being allowed to kiss Nathan Jones on his bald head a la Adam Cooney, when he won the B&F - so if I ask I usually get the truth......Nathan Stark who is a trendy 18 yr old, loves the blazer, he enthused about it
-
What if Clarkson's hard nosed approach loses the players, Neeld seems to have been accused of that
-
Feel better now you have regurgitated that, I can give you a story of a few kids who have re signed as members as well You must be very confused if you think the Footy Dept (and the players) accepts losses Mark Neeld is one of the lowest paid senior coaches, we don't have the money Do you mean successful now, or are you willing to wait, only been eightteen months, which bit of starting again don't you get, or where you one of the posters happy with the squad we had of underachievers who are no longer at the Club Most of our 'good' players have re signed, surprised?
-
Old, don't you think you putting the above gives the gutter journalists something to hang there hat on, glad to see you think the team you support is crap and being so optimistic about how long the 'fix' is going to take, I personally think it will sooner rather than later If you feel irrelevant then that's your problem We are going to survive, to think otherwise is ridiculous Other teams have been in exactly the same position, the Bulldogs are stood alongside us now, and it is even longer since they saw their one prize, this is footy. I have already moved on from last week and looking forward to seeing whether we can repeat and even better the performance against Fremantle And just a point again, I have asked nearly 40 odd players for an opinion on the blazer, they all really like it
-
Actually he is not, except I put my sentiments a bit more clearly, totally agree with the opinion on some who post on here who claim to be "supporters", and now let's feel sorry for ourselves again, Viney is in a moonboot boo hoo", I know some of the posts are tongue in cheek but some others are frighteningly real
-
Again, how do you know the players don't respect Neeld, you one of them?
-
Your opinion of what I post is of little concern to me, my opinion of what you post would get me banned
-
Like YOU do, Dawes is in the leadership group, Neeld wouldn't mind him speaking up, Neeld is being cautious, do you really think he is hoping it takes 5 years, of course not, he would inwardly hoping it turns after the bye, there are really some nuff nuffs posting on here lately
-
I think Blease when he learns to defend will be given his chance, he does not play both ways at the moment, that is not criticism that is fact, that is why he is at Casey, Hill would tear him a new one
-
Most of the posts in this topic are pointless repetitive rubbish, I am allowed to point that out if I wish, must be about the fifth or sixth topic about the same thing
-
Evans - needs more effort - that is so laughable, this is a guy with less than 10 games under his belt who was running as far and as fast at the end of the last quarter and he was at the beginning of the first, his goal in the last qtr, watch the vision see where he came from to be alone in the goal square

The dropped chest mark occurred when Howe jumped in front of him and he lost sight of the ball, so therefore not Jetta's mistake per se, I would think it was Howe's for not leaving it Oh don't think that is squibbling, think that is a bit harsh, ever thought he might have been wrong footed, no of course not, let's just bag MFC players
