The corpse is still breathing WYL http://www.kodak.com.au/ek/AU/en/Home.htm just

Personally I think the problem with Pedersen last week was because it was Nth Melb, wanted so much to do really well, couple of mistakes and he fell to bits, with the Nth players in his ear telling him so, he shows what he can do at Casey, seen him control the back 50, a lot, myself included, forget he hasn't played 20 AFL games yet. I think with the rest, Davis, Taggert, Tynan, yes would like to see them come up, but they are in a finals bound team, and as long as MFC let them play, will probably be more benefical for them in the long term

This is another case of whatif, posters bemoan the fact that we don't develop players and point at Hawthorn, Geelong. Sydney etc as to what we should be dokng, finally we are trying to do that, why do think that the players brought in at the above Clubs (with the occasional exception) look like they belong, because they haven't been rushed, they have been steadily learning their craft and developing in the lower levels, Barry will be fine, he is getting better and better, personally don't care if he plays all year at Casey including the finals, rather than bringing him in for a couple of games, and if last Saturday is an example, going backwards at an alarming rate

Here's a novel idea for next year.....an MFC win

Welcome aboard, you will find you have entered a cross between Blokesworld, Today Tonight, Hillsong and the Demons chapter of the group protesting against the Tecoma McDonald's. I could have guessed most of the welcoming committee who have posted felicitations previously, as long as you agree with whatever piece of ridiculousness they come up with now and again, you will be fine......although speaking for myself I find it rather more entertaining not to............hands poised above the keyboard at the ready are they WYL?

Alan Stockdale wants to be President
Satyriconhome replied to Chopper Lovell's topic in Melbourne Demons
Of course you can have a say, how many posters on this board, there is a constitution, if we get enough to sign, we can call an extraordinary GM, but it is getting sufficient numbers to sign, and people to drive, hence why the 'select' few do it for us -
Alan Stockdale wants to be President
Satyriconhome replied to Chopper Lovell's topic in Melbourne Demons
Exactly what happens at every Club, my pet peeve about posters on this board, always demanding action and a say, but when push comes to shove, they sit on their hands and then whinge when they get what they are given Stand up and be counted HAH! -
Alan Stockdale wants to be President
Satyriconhome replied to Chopper Lovell's topic in Melbourne Demons
When I say whole process, I mean whole process, I don't want anybody parachuted in, I want to listen to everybody and then vote, this is what every poster who has ever had a whinge on this board should do, this is the time for change, but let the members in -
Alan Stockdale wants to be President
Satyriconhome replied to Chopper Lovell's topic in Melbourne Demons
You seem to think you are a minion, I am certainly not, if you have a concern, email the Club or ring or ask in person..........I do.....too many people don't take the opportunity and then complain when they didn't If Stockdale wants to be Prez, then open a meeting room at Lib HQ and invite us in so he can present, no, he will sit in the Melbourne Club with a few more of the 'influential MFC/MCC members and hope his media campaign works and he is parachuted in without a vote........ That's what you should be speaking to the Club about, I have already expressed my concerns about this whole process, I have a right to, I am a member -
Alan Stockdale wants to be President
Satyriconhome replied to Chopper Lovell's topic in Melbourne Demons
"The aspect I do concur with Ol Eyebrows is the point he makes about "They are not being asked what they think and there is no method for them having a say. I am about giving them a say and letting them know what's happening.'' That is rubbish, every member has a say, you can email/phone the Club on any matter, fact the Club also monitors boards like this to gauge members/supporters feelings "At least Stockdale is talking to us. Thats a plus... no one else is really, at best we get snippets after the fact" I didn't see anywhere in the article where he has called a meeting to sit down and discuss with members, or his personal email address where we can send concerns This is a politiician....NO from me -

Satyriconhome replied to Demon3's topic in Melbourne Demons
No I don't want him to fail, I am hoping he does well, time will tell, I am just one of the posters in this topic who isn't falling over with excitement, unfortunately as far as Connolly goes, yes he bleeds red and blue and yes he probably had good intentions, but I think there is too much water under the bridge for him to return now, moved on from that as well You are revisioning again WYL, the business side of the Club was in reassonable nick until the brown stuff started flying with payouts, fines etc, 12 months ago, if you go back and read the posts, the optimism about everything was still there, everybody believed the club was going forward financially, the list would be cleaned up etc......hindsight is a wonderful thing -

You are a CEO WYL, little things should not get to you....you decide the future, if your view is jaundiced then are you going to make the right decisions?, my post previously, about the last couple of years of his tenure -

Here is an exercise to try, you have followed footy for god knows how many years and the MFC, watch the interview again, and think I would have answered that question the same way...of course we would.....he was saying what we all wanted to hear.......... -

Billy, he seems to have succeeded at another football club, same as Roos seems to have succeeded as a footy coach with 1 premiership, and a just over 50% win loss ratio ,let's see shall we -

No I said facts, you read up and then investigate further, looking for facts, of course this is flavoured with hindsight and retrospectivity, actually use my own intellect and intelligence once I have absorbed all the information and facts to come to a decision/opinion You really are a special case aren't you WYL, I supported CS in what he was trying to achieve, and along with the rest on this board, now we all have a bit of hindsight and bits of other information seeing the light of day, perhaps some of the support was misguided, but that happens in all of life, moved on from that, you are the one that keeps banging on about him, and will not acknowledge the good work he did, I suppose with you being so perfect you find it hard to comprehend how people make mistakes I support the Coach, no matter who it is, could see what Neeld was trying to achieve, it didn't work, again moved on Just read this board for a while now, love reading the posts from those with sore arses caused by jumping on and off the latest bandwagon -

WYL, every single one of the 30000 odd members knows how far off the pace we are, 'staring us in the face' probably sums it up CS spent a lot of time and effort trying to reestablish an identify for MFC which had disappeared, (that was even bemoaned on this board for a star)t, perhaps in hindsight too much time and not enought elsewhere......... that is gone, but it does give you a chance to have a retrospective pot shot "will only deal with the big boys"?........not sure where you are going with that, hence my comment about 'messiah' I expect a lot more at this stage -

Anyone can talk a good job WYL, I have experienced CEO and managers who were just that, all talk The one you hate, ol' CS, managed to get MFC on an even keel and even post a small profit, so running a business and being successful on the field don't equate to the same thing, it helps if the business is on a sound footing and you can invest in the FD, but that is all -

A lot of the supporters have not forgiven him for extending Mathew Knights contract and they the club had to pay out, notice the lack of success after the early 00's down to the recruiting staff Jackson had in place, Bendigo Bombers alignment that nobody at the Club wanted -

WYL before you let your Messiah complex get completely out of control, yes I liked what Peter Jackson said last night, but the proof is in the pudding..I'll wait and see....also see if you find some posts/articles from Bombers supporters/journos/bloggers towards the end of Jackson's tenure at Essendon....what you read may surprise you.....as I have said before I get all the facts and information I can before I jump on or off -
Unless there is some dispensation Magner cannot come in, he has to replace somebody who is on the LTI for 8 weeks, there are only 5 to go. Outs for me Kent, Davey, Tapscott, Blease, Pederson
-
I didn't miss your point, you said Roos=relax.......haven't been away, been reading, haven't really felt the need to post, a lot has just been fluff.....this is important though
-
I am concerned as to why he needs the break, the last thing we need at the moment is somebody who is burnt out, it can happen....... but then receiving an offer you can't refuse when you should really walk away from what has burnt you out...........that is why Jackson has so much energy, he walked away from the front line for a while.......I do not want us to rush anything........I don't care if we don't have the backroom fully in place before the New Year, want the coach before draft though.........

Not these days old chap, that's why they have a footy dept three times the size of an AFL one, they may have some say as to who sits in what job, similar to AFL but the day to day is left to those people, there is too much, don't forget a Premier League club could have squad members competing in upto 10 different competitions in a season, including internationals......if what you were saying was true, if a manager was sacked a month into the season, the whole Club should collapse, it doesn't
