Grant Thomas twitter attack on Paul Roos???
Satyriconhome replied to Vipercrunch's topic in Melbourne Demons
Thomas is good value, but unfortunately he has the same problem as a lot of us on here, he doesn't know when to shut up, and it has cost him. do you own a blue tie?....gee it used to be moccasins or trakky dacks, now it's neckwear, times have changed -
There would hardly be a thread open

Brad's a development coach, during training all the coaches are out on the field, doing their bit, ie most of the time Roos calling the shots and the rest observing with bits of encouragement, help with drills etc, would assume a lot of his 'work' is done at closed sessions and at meetings etc.......would think Roos is developing him as a coach as well -
Grant Thomas twitter attack on Paul Roos???
Satyriconhome replied to Vipercrunch's topic in Melbourne Demons
here's a few bits...seems to not like Paul Roos They were sooo bad they needed me. It shocked me into coaching them. We r so fortunate 2 have a humble man Roosy take job for $1.5M a yr I'm a former teammate and coaching adversary so I get your drift. Roosy adores Roosy & generally Roosy comes 1,2 &3. He is absolute right choice but.....that bloke in the mirror needs to have a word 2 him rather than telling him he's awesome Roosy beautifully playing media on break. It's an orchestra. Detailing the depths of depravity and sick state Demons were in. Our Saviour -
I find that rather rich coming from you RR, I make no attempt to derail threads, my inital reply was to question the, in my opinion, incorrect assertions on the 1.8m cost cutting which was part of the AGM, it seems that only certain posters can have opinions on here
-
This post was about the AGM, WYL, you put a post, I questioned it, as per normal, you don't like me questioning, so you and a couple of the other comedians on here, immediately turn it into a personal attack on me. I was privy to a lot last year, I also questioned a lot, I also took things on face value, or trusted what I was told, I was lied to in some cases, but I can live with that, because above all else it is just footy...and in the end what occurred cost people job or positions....but you and a few others seem to want to keep revisiting and denigrating those who were only trying to do their job....in the end some didn't do it well and lost it...I suppose that is hard for you to comprehend not having made a mistake in your life and being so perfect....as I said last year...when crisis hit didn't see you putting your hand up to replace anybody. Myself and Stuie are just waiting for the first wobble of this season to hit and again watching the vitriol flow on here
-
Stuie, exactly what I have been saying but some can't, you can get used to a hairshirt Again hindsight is a wonderful thing, makes everybody an expert
-
The sad thing is WYL, if the Club had died , you would be dancing on the grave shouting "I was right, I was right"...sad really, you and a few other on here, just all about you being right
-
No Colin and WYL, just it's HISTORY...or don't you have a sense of relevance if you can't keep dragging up the past...let it go....mistakes have been made...hopefully this year will be different...hope so...I just don't like posters bagging just for the sake of it...make you feel less inadequate...if that's what you do it for then I feel sorry for you fairweather supporters jumping off...less membership money, less gate receipts, less merchandise, less sponsorship money...which bit don't you get...sorry forgot facts against vitriol again
-
The previous administration had gotten the Club out of debt and we posted a profit of $70000 the previous year, so no it wasn't a mess, the only mistake was picking the wrong coach, net result the fairweather supporters jumped off and we had to pay out contracts...hence the need to cut costs, we had a couple of extra at the top. the CFO springs to mind, we didn't necessarily need... revisionists are wonderful

My quick report There is a gastro bug going through the Club.......Watts and Hunt missing today, Trengove had to leave, didn't play in the game, Jetta suffering so pulled out hallf way through....asked Nev, said quite a few had had it Best for me today....Toumpas, Cross, Vince, Jones x 2, Pedersen, Strauss, Grimes (in 38) Tyson (he played in nr 9 most of the game) Frawley, Michie Good to see Don McLardy at training, got a warm reception from all Other observations, JKH found out what is was like to play against men today, Westrupp has improved out of sight, took an excellend mark in defence, Harmes is very raw but didn't look out of place On my other two reports, Bail was solid without standing out, same with Byrnes Spoke to James Strauss, he is finally injury free, feeling really good, up close he is really solid, he was walking with Howie who pumped up his tyres, said it was nice leading onto 'missiles' Spoke to Bernie Vince, not about cricket, said he had enjoyed blowing the cobwebs away, enjoying the role Roos' wants him to play Spoke to Jordie McKenzie, yes he was told to work on his kicking, needs to be more versatlie, looking forward to the battle for midfield places -

I love posters on here who attempt humour and fail so spectacularly -
...as long as Jones N, Cross, Tyson, et al know how to spell "win the clearances' we will be fine........I am positivity astounded that this warranted a thread...........pity you never got the opportunity to read "the Guardian" newspapers in the 70's you would have had a field day
-
Go to training, you are allowed to speak to anybody as long as you pick your moment, you will get the 'company line' a lot of the time, but you also get other information as well, depends on what you ask, and who
-
A direct quote from Jade Rawlings, I asked him, paraphrasing of course....."Nev did enough in his last six games for Casey (this included two best on ground for Casey) to warrant another chance, never had a consistent run at it, knows exactly what he has to do to continue" Nev's best position is half back flank, not midfield, not small defender, not forward, this is where he has been told he will be playing this year
-
Agreed, (as soon as Goddard went to the Bombers I knew everything had changed), Chip will do what is best for Chip And this, plus the fact that Adelaide are doing a bit of tree rattling to counter the Roos Wave the whole of MFC is riding at the moment
-
That's a convenient rewrite of history, he must be doing something right to be voted into the Leadership Group by his peers
-
"Roos just fills me with confidence as do the comments from Vince and Cross that the side is not the basket case they observed on the paddock last year and the talent is there as is the desire commitment and fitness"......I asked Daniel Cross about this when I spoke to him, he repeated what he said on stage, a lot is in the head, he regards part of his role to be a steadying factor on the field, to keep banging into the players that they are good enough

Aidan Riley, the unspoken about gem
Satyriconhome replied to Tyson4Brownlow's topic in Melbourne Demons
I spoke to Josh Mahoney at the AGM last night, apart from the fact he couldn't understand why Adelaide delisted hime, he said one of the main reasons we got him was for his "ferocious' attack on ball and man..........He said Aiden has the nickname "Pigdog".....Josh knows I go to Casey games, told me to enjoy watching Aiden rattle the VFL as he gets to full fitness -
I went and thought it was run like everything else this season, head down arse up getting on with business Different highlight from me, Roos comment - paraphrasing "I used to talk about Melbourne when I was 'On the Couch', not always complimentary" Had a good chat to Daniel Cross, even more impressed, talked about where he sees his role, helping Jack Watts becoming a midfielder, thinks Dom Tyson will be a gun if he can get a run at it without injury, proudly told me he had come 4th in 3k time trial in a tick over 9 minutes, said similar thing to Roos, if we can get everybody on the park, we are not that bad Talked to Bernie Vince about cricket..what else?

I think your memory is being selective, without getting into toing and froing, we had players with excellent skills who are no longer at the Club, Green and Davey just to name 2 -

Jordie Mc has been staying on at the end of each training sesssion I have been to, practicing his kicking, so he probably knows it is one area he needs to improve, been woriking with Daniel Cross, another midfielder who has a reputation for being handball happy.........think it was more of the roles they played in the past.....obviously Roos' wants them kicking
