  1. I have been going to preseason training at least twice a month if not more, for the last 7 years.....as Roos has said in his press conferences, it is just training, even he doesn't know what it will look like on game day........we have a lot of scars left over from the last few years........I like what i am seeing at training, but then again I liked what I saw in Bailey and Neeld's first year......I will wait till the end of the game against St Kilda before I begin to think everything has changed
  2. I spoke to him last week, he is now 3 weeks away from full training, although doesn't seem hindered in what he is doing now, said his leg was fine, no problems, assume that full contact will be the test, wants to be playing early into the season......talked to him whilst he was getting out of the GPS holder, shirt off, he is really solid across the shoulders, chest and arms so when he hits it must hit, as other posters have been saying
  3. Interesting to hear from Col Garland in the video on Club website, that each player had to stand up in front of the rest and nominate 5 players for Leadership Group, you can't get more transparent than that
  4. ...now that's being silly.....it means it is imperative to embrace the change, follow what the leaders are saying......the alternative is another few years of what we have had with playres leaving and nobody wanting to come to the club.......that will be a really worthwhile environment to be in........he won't be cracking the sads, he will be facing reality
  5. ..er because they realise that they have to, and also they are in danger of losing not only him but others if they don't.....simple enough.......
  6. Of course he is driving the change, but he wants to see it embraced by the other 40 odd on the list, the old you can lead the horse to water analogy..............at least this episode again shows a more professional attitude from the Club, open and put on the official website, stops any garbage.......shows it is his decision
  7. Can we like Chip just wait and see, he is only one player, yes a very good one, but loyalty and footy are not in the same sentence any more, it is now money and footy...........he is like us, he doesn't want to see the ball coming in lace out to an opposition full forward with space to lead into on a regular basis.....he wants to see a bit of success, not only will this be more enjoyable to play, but it will bring in more money as well
  8. Everybody should listen to the presser, the LG was cut down to 6, if it was like last year, would assume Dawes and McKenzie would be in it, they obviously were just 'beaten' in the votes by the other 4
  9. No, don't forget the players voted, so assume he didn't get many voted. Dawes can be an on field leader, but off field believe he is more of a grumpoid, so perhaps not a player favourite, so they didn't vote for him Waste of time having a leader in the leadership group who is not 'liked" (meant in it's broadest sense)
  10. I was there and asked a few questions. Viney, knocked himself out last Monday during his first training back from his hip problem; failed a couple of the concussion tests so was put on light work. He feels better now, asked him could he take it down a notch at training, laughed and said he couldn't do it!! Fitzpatrick ... came up with a new one, quote "there is nothing major I am on a tapered preparation". Riley is four weeks away from full training; everything is fine with his leg, just looking forward to playing again. Hogan is getting a bit [censored] off with being restricted at the moment. I told him we wanted to watch him for 10 years, not lose him to a degenerative knee, thankfully instead of hitting me, he agreed. Terlich - asked him and said it was nothing, had his knee taped he left early, seemed to have some relatives watching, demonstrated to them he had twisted leg, i.e when it sticks in turf and twists, love the fact he was pulled out of training when it happened. McKenzie/Cross/Spencer, got a jumper signed by Jordie at the end, they spent an extra 10 minutes at the end, think it was for Spencer's benefit, Cross tapping and Mc Kenzie kicking and vice versa with Spencer leading out of the square to mark in front of his face, nice to see ... Cross is so intense, even when you chat to him, Spencer really wants that no 1 ruck, and Jordie was Jordie, relishing the hard work, think too many on here have him out of the team too early.
  11. GoTO................."I'll make one outrageous prediction at this stage of the year: JKH will be a certainty in the season proper" Nev Jetta agrees with you, walked back to AAMI with him from training on Wednesday and JKH was one subject we talked about, I asked whether he was too small at this stage to get a game at AFL level this year , but Nev said defenders wouldn't get near him
  12. I don't lurk, I am like everybody else I sit behind my keyboard, weapon in hand, ready to strike. Create friction, with who, posters who don't agree with my viewpoint/opinions, so there is only a rule for me, then, how laughable Again I don't pass on anything I read on here, this is a myth being perpetuated by a couple of posters, as I have said I don't need to I don't need to draw attention, I pass on what I have been told by a player, asking permission first of course, in the hope of keeping supporters who bemoan the lack of information, informed I only take pot shots at certain posters who deserve it, I don't do it very often now coz I have stopped reading their posts, you can do the same to mine if you wish, seems the answer really doesn't it Training reports can become a bit tedious if they all say the same thing, mine I try and make a bit different, if you don't like them, don't read them, simple really
  13. Just to correct you 1. I said i don't repeat what is posted on here, I don't have to, which obviously infers that the said person had read the posts about the website content doesn't it, it also means I have my own opinions 2. It wasn't Matt Burgan
  14. A lot of it is based on a stoppage and then running in waves supporting, then going back the other way, some of the drills the other day did suggest it is getting it out to our 'perceived' decent kicks........... Expect to see Jones N and Vince "resting' forward for the goal kicking ability and Cross at half back Apart from Watts in the middle, if in the 22 you will see Clisby rotating through there Jetta is to be played on half back, upto him whether it is in AFL or VFL Bail will be forward (same as Jetta) Barry in the middle
  15. The Club instructs the players not to read the site, but other people 'employed' by the Club do, I know that for a fact, they would be mad not to They see the 'standard' of some of the posts Do you also really think that some players don't know what supporters think of them, you want to see some of the tweets Nathan Jones got last season, Col Sylvia in particular as well got some really informative feedback Next time you speak to a player, ask them about the snide remarks they get from heroes at the G when they are walking off after a game or warm up, or out of the window of a car driving past AAMI Park of Goschs, or even when they are out for dinner It's an adult world we live in I do not 'pass on' comments from here, I don't have to, you post as if certain posts on here are something to be ashamed of, are they?
  16. What is wrong with you people, you actually believe that nobody at the Club either reads or monitors this site, of course they do, to gauge the feeling of 'so called' supporters. I made a joke about the snarky comment and it was taken that way, gee there can be a modicum of intelligence shown in conversations, I know it is a rare beast on here If posters don't want there opinions, baggings, comments, snide remarks, player assessments read by somebody at the Club, then don't post As I have said before I will say exactly what I want to say
  17. I spoke to 'him', (not Matt Burgan) he got back from holidays on Monday, yes he had seen the comments on here, resisted my request that he puts a 'snarky' comment as the byline......told him to post the lot to quieten down the masses
  18. Yes we will in the the 3rd week in January, the one thing I have noticed at training is the proper care and attention being taken on both training loads and injury He looked really fit at training today, this can only be a good thing, I want a viable alternative for every spot
  19. Meaning I don't have a problem with what is presented, but I may have with the information contained in the content, and I am one of the members who usually asks a ridiculous question......that the master receives telepathically
  20. Yes he was there, I only know because I saw him arrive, he doesn't stand out on the field when most of them are in red and blue polo and cap Do you actually mean football, ie kicking the ball, sessions, it has always been that way, pre season they work 5 days a week, so assume as someone has said maybe there is footy work inside AAMI park or somewhere else on one day, after training today was lunch followed by weights
  21. Some of the rubbish posted in this topic really sums up some posters..........it's quite easy.............. DON'T GO to the AGM I have been to the last 5, don't have a problem with whatever content is presented So you must be psychic then to know what transpires? I am so looking forward on here to a few years time when we again win the Premiership, there is bound to be a complaint that the captain and the coach didn't hold the trophy correctly on the podium...........sheeesssshhhhh
  22. I see mjt has gone off early today, was there today, had a chat to NATHAN Jones, today was a light session for everybody, hardly had a bead of sweat on him....Clark will be fine, for somebody who is crocked, he was doing the lateral exercises in the rehab group quite easily. Nathan is champing at the bit for the NAB Challenge, we agreed it won't be a mickey mouse go this season, there will be 36 blokes trying to get Roosy to put them in his 22 for the first round Had a chat to a couple of other players, everybody has been told what role/position/spot they are expected to play this coming season, been given specific things to work on that will help in this role/position/spot Emjoying the training because as I have mentioned before it is all footy orientated, if that makes sense
  23. We have about 15 "coaches" at training at the moment, you don't think one of them looks after the running? Constantly criticising a players supposed lack of speed is bagging
  24. How about a premiership winning midfield that was full of speedsters like Mitchell, Lewis, Sewell, Burgoyne...and one of the best players in the comp Luke Hodge really flies as well doesn't he....what is this obsession with speed?
  25. I agree, but it seems Trengove is the target for the 'baggers' in this thread, you must remember they are better judges of footy players than the rest of us will ever be, more tiremsome as well
