I sometimes think how lucky are these kids to have been picked up by the Dees just as we become a true premiership contender. Then I smack myself up the side of the head and consider that this new bunch may very well have tipped the balance from mid-table battlers, to a top of the ladder team. So many first to third year players, stepping in and playing like veterans. Legacy building work from Jason Taylor, Tim Lamb and team.

What could we possibly trade to get Maynard? We still have our first round from next season. But would that be enough? He would be a perfect fit for our backline.

http://www.whitsundaysportspark.com.au/ Airlie Beach sports park. Currently undergoing an upgrade to enable parking for a donut van and coffee stall. Covid free area with an AFL following population. I think it's the safe and sensible option. (and about 5 minutes walk from my place)

Did not see one second of the game. Looking forward to watching the replay with the benefit of post game comments from the half full / half empty 'Landers. I'm starting to think we may be the real deal finally. About to renew the wifes membership so we can get access to (unmentionable) tickets should we remain in this form through September. Talking with workmates without the embarrassment of following a losing team. Sensational. Go Dees.

What they're saying down at Barkly Street

The AFL has a world class Exasperation Department. I feel that way almost every weekend watching the latest cockeyed decision from AFLHQ

So you don't think we'll win either hey?

If Weideman continues his lackluster form, he will enter the "delist" category for me. Cannot find the ball, and can never take one grab contested marks. They are pretty important for a key forward yeah? I was optimistic early, but we've seen more than enough of him now to know that he will never be the player we hoped for.

Shorter qtrs means less ads. The TV stations/AFL need every dollar they can get, so unless it's games every 4 days or so, they will resist this as hard as they can. I hated the short quarters and hope it doesn't happen.

Fair enough. It's a topic bound to raise peoples blood pressure. Hope you are well there o.d

What you are asking for is pointless. People come here to talk about footy, and whine about games getting cancelled. That does not affect your chances of catching Covid 1 iota. Relax, nobody is hoping you get sick. I just made an appointment for my first Astra Zeneca shot. Do you feel safer now? ;)

I hate to bring to your attention that you are posting on an AFL supporters forum as that may upset you. Get a grip old, it's what people come here to talk about.

The AFL is already feeling the strain from a shortened 2020 program. They will do everything in their power to ensure games are maximized. I'd be expecting Hublife and games every 4 or 5 days after a few weeks break. Victoria, the place to be leave.

pointless post so i removed it.

Everyone is forgetting that a certain percentage of the population (of all ages) will develop blood clots regardless of taking any covid vaccines. And of course the older brigade are more at risk than the younger demographic. It will be years, as it is with any "normal" vaccine development, before we know the true effects of taking these new vaccines. As usual, there is no accelerated wear test for a vaccine. ie: no substitute for time. Not sure it's a "surplus" drug, but it is certainly the cheapest. I have no doubt that the price plays a very large part in its preferential treatment by the government. AS an aside, I thought the A.Z drug would be very popular in 3rd world countries where it can be stored without deep freezing, but my second home of The Philippines lead the way in their reluctance to take the A.Z drug. They simply don't trust it, regardless of age.
-
Nice post. Thanks for clarifying that.
-
Apparently the Astra Zeneca vaccine may produce clots via an immune system reaction to the drug. I've read that younger people (under 50's) are more prone to a reaction from the A.Z shot because of their stronger immune systems. That makes some sense to me, although if the politicians are not taking the A.Z drug, none of us should have to either.
-
With the correct info available, this post was redundant.
-
People seem to be more desperate to avoid the Astra Zeneca jab than they do to avoid being locked in their homes with a rag on their face. What is wrong with todays human race? On a positive note, our great start will come in VERY handy if the season goes to schitt and is reduced and compacted.

Weid has been hopeless in his 2 games back. Absolutely useless. TMac, Fritsch (with an attitude adjustment) and Jackson is our best bet, although Jacksons inability to take a pack mark is currently as bad as Weideman. We have some serious issues to address. Our breakdown across the half back line was there for all to see. So glad Treloar is out. We needed that.

Yeah we looked like pretenders tonight, didn't we? Dogs will absolutely maul us next week.

Adelaide coaching department did their homework, and credit to them for it. Manning up on Lever stopped his intercept game, and with May getting an absolute bath from Tex, we simply couldn't stop them scoring. Hunt a headless chook contributed to the defensive mess, and omg what has happened to the spatial and situational awareness of half our team? (Hunt and Gawn the worst offenders) Again, credit to Adelaide for doing their homework and executing their plans beautifully. It's a real shame that our weaknesses were exposed the week before we play the most ruthless team in the comp. Get Viney and Salem back in ASAP because the Dogs will annihilate us at the contest otherwise. Oh, and Weid? Nah, he will not make it. Simply cannot impact when the game is there to be won. Useless.

Always amuses me how clubs feel the need to have board spills, sack coaches etc when they reach the end of their "window" The player list is old and on the decline. Why the panic?

Ahhhh dunno. I've only been a 20yr member once. ? I'll be honest, the thank you "certificate" it came with went straight in the bin. Generic, and bland as hell. The pin however made my day. Small things........

They got me at a weak moment. Actually, make that 20 weak moments.
