  1. Murali was the most blatent chucker in the history of cricket and was only "exonerated" because the ICC changed the rules to accommodate his cheating because of the bleating from the Sri Lankan officials. And of course, the inevitable cries of racism that accompanied their whining. Darrell Hair was right for calling a cheat a cheat.
  2. I would detest Spargo if he played for another side. He throws his head back every time he is tackled. Only consolation would be Spargs receiving a free kick to win a grand final fŕom staging against Hunter or the faux tough guy from Brisbane who can't kick. These head thrower-backerers and knee benderers really get my goat. Except Spargo. (Apart from the times he throws his head back. That really annoys me)
  3. Rex Hunt was an abomination as a commentator. Tim Lane the best. What a contrast.
  4. Please do not allow Clarkson to get his hands on all of Ports talent. I want at least one flag with our own list first.
  5. Let's hope they keep him for a few more seasons then. Quite a lot of talented players at Port.
  6. Am I allowed to say who I think is good? Luke Hodge is sensational in special comments. Very easy to listen to and does not seem to let his call be affected by the hysterics of the other commentators. Brian Taylor is a disgracefully poor commentator. Needed to be said again.
  7. I can't believe a Melbourne supporter actually thought that was a good call. My God that man is a hopeless commentator.
  8. Can you link the call please. I thought I'd watched a very replay of Hannans goal and I've never seen one from Taylor. The call by Gerard Whately of that goal was one of the best AFL calls ive ever heard.
  9. Kellie Underwood escapes criticism because she is female. She is an atrocious commentator just above BTs' level.
  10. Tipped a 30 point loss as Port are Home Town Heroes and we have been losing against crap sides lately. Very happy to be quite wrong. Can't argue with the glass half full types when it comes to being a genuine threat this year. Beating one top 8 side after another shows that when we are on, we can quite literally beat anyone this season. Still say we need top 2 to avoid the Brisbane trip in the finals. If we roll West Coast in Perf though, I'm fully on board.
  11. All the signs are there that the Melbourne of old are back.
  12. Tonight is the night that many of the youngsters on here get an insight to what we older folk have been watching for 50 years or so. The end of yet another false dawn. Port by 30.

I hope you are right Bin. But it means we've been in the heavy training period for 6 weeks or more. That sounds like we went quite early.
  14. I feel your pain and agree with almost every word you said.
  15. You believe in Tarot, don't you?

    This is a joke, right?

Yeah, fair enough. But we've been here with he Dees before, and it's always ended up the same. Our history is long and consistent as far as failure goes. The signs are there already.

We will lose to Port on Thursday, and there will still be people on here pretending that 3 wins and 4 losses from the past 7 games is nothing at all to worry about and that the flag is in the bag.
  19. Pretenders. If you are "out of form", you don't beat the Bulldogs and Lions in consecutive weeks, between losses to Collingwood, Adelaide and the Giants. That happens when you are not mentally prepared for the challenge. That is a very common story over the past 4 decades. Port will roll us next week, and it is back to situation normal for Demon supporters being the brunt of office jokes again. It will be well deserved.
  20. Those of us old enough have been expecting this to come, and on queue here it is. Youngsters, we are 3 and 3 in our past 6. Get ready for a rapid drop down the ladder now. It's as sure as Toby Greens head is large. Gobsmacking lack of composure from so many players today. Neal Bullen, Hunt and Hibberd with zero spatial and situational awareness. The poor bastards in the back 6 must be pulling their hair out at the dumb turnovers upfield. Did Kosy play today? Don't recall seeing him. Worrying form dip over the past few weeks.
  21. Hard to have confidence inside 50 when your "stars" miss from directly in front like that. Jesus christ.
  22. Crisis actor.
  23. Leagues best indigenous guernsey. Would be happy to see it every week.
  24. It helps when it's not embarrassing to wear the team colors around. Makes for a better relationship with the kids when they are not being dragged against their wills to watch a losing team every week.
