For some reason I thought Mitchell was lobbying in the background to take over the role. If he was not white-anting possibly the best coach of all time he certainly could have told Kennett that he was not interested in the job yet. How is he being thrown to the wolves?
  2. Not the worst suggestion. Surely the coaching staff is considering different roles for Joel considering he has not made headway playing essentially the same role every week he gets on the park. As the VFL is seemingly always cancelled, it would take injuries to our senior wingmen for him to find a spot to even try your approach and we all know Joel himself is the one more likely to get injured.

Oh well, they've enjoyed a run that history will view very strongly. A team that won 3 flags and turned the league on its head in terms of re-defining defensive pressure. Well done to them. Now, if only West Coast could do us a favor and implode in a similar manner.
  4. Disagree wholeheartedly, but lets leave it at that. Thanks for the civil replies mate.
  5. Any sane person would condemn the KKK [censored]. The fact it still happens shows their are some truly awful parents in the southern states. He was not good waiting for so long to say something. He would surely have known the attack dogs in the press would be pinning this on him. I just think that specifically saying they should be "condemned totally" should be recognized by all. It's not a small thing. It's central to the issue.
  6. It certainly takes the "the club knows better than us" to entirely new heights, doesn't it? Terrible kick, perpetually injured and little awareness in a contest. Very very strange indeed.
  7. So you don't place any weight whatsoever on the fact he SPECIFICALLY said he wasn't referring to white supremacists and that they should be "condemned totally"? That's the entire point of the criticism against him from many quarters.
  8. I have an autographed copy Demonstone. Will wait 'till after the Don croaks it and chuck it on Ebay.
  9. He must have a Jims mowing business and take care of the list managers yard for free. Has shown absolutely nothing to suggest he will be even a regular fill-in for us. Very surprising decision.
  10. Ah, the old Charlottesville hoax. People have been pushing this Charlottesville thing since the day after it happened and I wonder if many have actually watched the video or read the written text of the press conference. His "fine people" quote was in reference to the people protesting the removal of statues and yet everyone willfully ignores this very clear line. "So you know what, it’s fine. You’re changing history. You’re changing culture. And you had people -- and I’m not talking about the neo-Nazis and the white nationalists -- because they should be condemned totally. But you had many people in that group other than neo-Nazis and white nationalists. Okay? And the press has treated them absolutely unfairly. "Now, in the other group also, you had some fine people. But you also had troublemakers, and you see them come with the black outfits and with the helmets, and with the baseball bats. You had a lot of bad people in the other group."
  11. Love the way they get around him. Would certainly make the climb back a little less steep.
  12. Webber, re-read and retract your obfuscation claim.
  13. That's not what Cranky is advocating sue. I think you know that.
  14. Precisely. I get his Power Structure argument and agree with it. It simply wasn't the point I was making.
  15. Tell that to the South Africans.
  16. https://www.afl.com.au/video/662998/yokayi-footy-racism-begins-behind-closed-doors-look-in-the-mirror-?videoId=662998&modal=true&type=video&publishFrom=1628661600001 This is my point of view on this issue. This is beautifully put, except for thinking racism only occurs against minorities. That's obviously incorrect. Otherwise, top notch.
  17. An individual? You mean a Republican President of the United States? You people are insane.
  18. The first thing he ranted about was Trump. Open both of your eyes.
  19. What an absolute load of trash. Leftists ALWAYS smear the leading conservative with cries of "racist" the moment they assume leadership of their party. It's their "operatus modus" (sic) Cant you lefties leave your politics out of just one thread for goodness sake?
  20. Then imagine Burgess said nothing of the sort. Haven't seen a moment of the game, but 4 points in Perf is epic and the only thing that mattered. Rest up and make amends for our shocking loss to the Crows last time.
  21. Nope. Unless it helps us make top 2, then yes.
  22. The slighted man comforting the guilty party. What a man. Now THAT'S a real leader....
  23. Respectfully disagree. He reminds me of a young key we drafted many years back who had a chest like a trampoline. Only lasted a couple of seasons. His name will come to me.... I think it was Aaron Rodgers?
