  1. I hope not, Im making a fortune on them being the underdogs!!
  2. Oh I dont know about that, I admire a guy who can take that many drugs and win 7 Tours de France. When im on drugs I cant even find my bike!
  3. Sat in my local country pub. Because of the late start I had the TV put on in a side room. Just me. At half time 2 other people came in both Essendon. As I watched them kick early goals in the third quarter and the inevitable hype that came with it, I just sat quietly and prayed. You could sense despite the scoreboard Melbourne were still in it, however one of the Essendon supports left seemingly not really interested in the game. That left me and the other guy, I made sure there were a few tables between us. There was quite a bit of angst as Melbourne fought its way bravely back into the match. He wasnt rubbing it in too much as we watched, well, for an Essendon supporter. Not wanting to start any banter in a confined space, I mentioned that I had put some money on Melbourne to win and that if we did Id buy him a beer to which he sort of laughed and said OK. When Winderlick kicked those 2 goals in succession, he seemed quite content and was telling what a great player he had been for the club. I just smiled and agreed, wondering if he would ever play again. We both were on the edge of our seats as the game came to its conclusion and it was hard to hold back my joy as Salem put through the winner. He was actually quite gracious in defeat and so I bought him a beer. He didn't drink it with me.
  4. Just got back home. 1 thing I noticed was the speed with which Collingwoods mid got back into defense. On multiple occassions we got swamped if we even slightly hesitated. Not sure if this was posted elsewhere, but did anyone hear Vince interviewed on 774 after the game? He was asked about the non goal. He said he couldnt believe it and actually asked the umpire for clarification. He said he didnt really get any, other than the umpire just said "its JKHs kick" Vince said that led him to believe that the umpire missed the handpass. He went onto say that it would have been 4pts the difference in a period when the side was really coming, instead Collingwood got a goal up the other end.
  5. Ok, leaving country Victoria, nnnnnnow! Go you Dees.....
  6. "Cameron Pederson the most improved player in the Afl, bar none"
  7. Thats funny, I just walked past this fat lady dressed in Red and Blue and practicing some vocal exercises......
  8. The old footy songs are great, they reference a bygone era and where the history of the game is from. Many peoplle would know them all. However the newer club songs post 1990 (ok I leave the Swans one alone) ala Fremantle, Gold coast etc the songs are pretty terrible based on nothing but some marketing idiot who was employed by the club at the time to solve the issue.
  9. ....and they (tigres) are above us on the ladder........however at about 6.30ish tomorrow night.....
  10. St.Kilda copping a hidding from Port, weve so improved from round 1.
  11. Wines for Toumpas! Sorry couldnt resist.
  12. So good to hear the players talking it up like this, and interesting team rule, I like it.....Mmm Chile?
  13. ........and I hope Jack Watts pays em back for his debut game against them. Kick the last two Jack.
  14. Great tribute to Aaron Davey WJ. Cant wait to go to the G on Monday. The winter chill in the air, a packed crowd and we will be watching what the next ten years holds for us. Dees by 15.
  15. False dawn for the tigers. Another rebuild is coming for them I feel. We have had several rebuilds since 2007. We al know the pain and sorry to say Tigres but your rebuild starts in the second half of this season.
  16. I cannot believe the improvement in some individual players. All are doing breath taking things. Guys that couldnt hit the side of a barn last year are playing like men possessed. So many times when players have appeared trapped there is no panic, just calm thinking and silky moves. Its unbelievable to finally watch new recruits a la JKH and Dom Tyson hit the ground running and looking like top draft picks where as in the past these guys would be rotated through Casey week in week out waiting for any signs that their game was starting to improve. The speed of this turnaround is staggering. I really didnt expect to see this at least until the last few games of the season. My hat is off to you Paul Roos, the motivation and passion you and your team have bought back into our club.
  17. Gawn had an ordinary game and i reckon maybe the heat got to the big bloke a bit,.After a good rest , with his attitude and cult status at the G, and with a big crowd, he may just create a bit of havoc against the pies, like he did against Richmond. Im kinda liking the idea of Pederson, Gawn and Dawes up forward. .......AND ...I cannot wait for an in form Cris Dawes to go up against the Filth! There was an interesting poll on TV while we were playing a couple of weeks back, and that was...."who would you rather havein your team, Cloke or Dawes?".... an overwhelming 90% said Dawes. Most pies fans are now fuming they let him go, and if he gets a couple of early ones, look out! Not sure what to do with Grimes. Forward move maybe or even a rest with general soreness? Thats the hard one atm.
