What is there to be seen in Bennell?
Pipefitter replied to Dees 4 President's topic in Melbourne Demons
Constantly being the sub has ruined him. I see him as a real barometer. When he's breaking the lines we do well. West coast were hanging to draft him, and I reckon they know a thing or two about finding good players. Worth persisting. -
As woeful as port have been this year they will beat us over there. I've seen nothing to suggest Melbourne will break that hoodoo this year.
-
1 wish. I want to be surprised. So far this year we have won the games we all thought we would and lost the ones we thought we would. Show us some sort of youthful energy and take a scalp. Give us supporters some hope that we aren't going to be ordinary forever.
-
I want to see Bennell play a full game. He's really getting screwed around with this sub role. On the outside he seems like having the potential to be a good impact sub, but to me he is a bit of a slow burner and works his way into the game. OUT: Strauss, Maric IN: Bartram, Evans

I hear scwhab said the dees could match the giants offer. Did anyone catch that today? I certainly wouldn't want us to match that.

I think we can all be a bit naive about the game plan. We do employ a press but we don't do it well...yet. Dean once said and I agree the press is about everything single person doing their job in defending space, but when we aren't all doing it, we fall down. Hence our inconsistency. West coast have apparently been working on their press for a few seasons and it's now just coming together because their senior players are all back playing good footy and they are getting enough games into the youngsters to the point they can carry that consistency of effort week after week. Dean sounds like a broken record saying it's all about getting games into the kids, but he's right. I understand everyones pain and impatience because I'm sick of following a rubbish footy team, but until scully, trengove, watts, grimes etc get up to the 100 game mark we aren't gonna be much chop.

This is why we are we are. We consider players like sylvia as stars when they wouldn't even Rank in the top 50 players in the league.
-
I hate hawthorn. Bring on 2012.
-
Ugh. After all this scully talk in the herald sun, as rule of thumb i don't believe anything in the herald sun anymore. New weekly has more credibility.

We will beat Hawthorn on Sunday

I wish. I dread these hawthorn games. -
Jack grimes losing a year of development.

At year's end we need change/s in football department

I love the NO GAMEPLAN stuff. Do people actually believe that an afl level coach has no GAMEPLAN? "ok boys, get out there, run after the ball for 30 mins and I'll see you at quarter time. -
It's def a concern. Thought all these blow outs were past us. In the last year or 2, we lost a bit, but I always walked away knowing they had a crack till the very last second. This year we have definitely given up on a number of occasions.

He is just so soft. I cringe watching his half assed contested situations. Harden up or get out.

Scullys latest interview on SEN after the game really shoots most my confidence about him staying. A lot of people have seen simlaritys between Ablett scenario last year but I havent until then. Scully has gone from saying "I want to be a 1 club player", to "I will make a decision at the end of the year", which means instead of giving the supporters the impression we are just nutting out the contract he is now admitted he's weighing up both offers. Gone.
-
Yes but although they have a lot of money to spend, its not endless. Getting Pendlebury brings the the next rung of players on significantly less money.
-
The question is who does GWS want as their marquee player? To think they would pay scully an ablett wage is a bit far fetched. Im sure they are after him no doubt, but their 2 million dollar man is Scott Pendlebury who only signed a 1 year extension. This would leave players like Scully, Palmer, Walker etc in the 600k-950k bracket. Scully WILL be in this bracket at Melbourne. Why would he leave?
-
According to dean, he was praying with the dalai lama and the dalai told him scully would stay. The debate is over!
-
Demitrious comments are so invalid. Yes other top draftees have left early but as far as the stats go they were heavily compensated which we wont be.
-
They're almost superhuman. Their fitness is just off the charts. In the last quarter they were moving around like the game had just started.
-
I think his manager was actually commentating, Marty Pask. Why Petterd is not in the seniors is beyond me. Is so far above this level its not funny. Seems to get dropped immediately after a quiet game. Mind you those games where when we got belted and he was playing predominantly as a forward. We will see Cook sooner rather than later.
-
I'd say if hes available he will play. Already missing bartram to play on someone like Dick who may come in, or Davis who may go forward.
-
I get more worried without them there as they will try to lift to replace them. Nonetheless it is a great oppurtunity if we bring our "A" game. With Watson and Hocking missing last week i thought our midfield would run too deep and would trouble them and turned out true. Another game under Scully and Trengoves belt is surely going to help. Step up Dees!

Very impressed with His agility last night. Turned a few small bomber players inside out last night.

I need to declare I'm in love with 2 people...Trengove and Watts

Def a Bartel clone.
