  1. I totally agree with you. My thoughts have also been to play ANB on the wing in place of Langdon. Would have worried me last year but his form and composure seems so much more assured this year. If it works, we have another dimension to work with. If not welcome back Langdon and ANB back to the flank.
  2. Nice to see us draft a player with a nice vanilla/ meat and potatoes name for a change ?
  3. I tend to agree, BBB needs to be given some more opportunity in the second half of the season. I'm sure with an extended run of games he will build his form and fitness. I am far from thinking he is done.
  4. I saw that too. Thought to myself he must have him confused with Hunt. I don't buy into him always being drunk, but he certainly is complacent (lazy) and ignorant given his position
  5. I hope we have a great conversation about how right you are later tonight.
  6. Good, it will make ANBs job easier then.
  7. No, not really, liquorland don't carry the quality lines being raised here. I have looked.
  8. Mortlach, 14yrs. Very smooth. I will miss duty free.
  9. Couldn't boo Hannan after 2018. Amicable split, good luck to him.
  10. If he plays on Caleb Daniel tonight, which I would do, he will be close to our most important player tonight. Have a good one Nibbler!!
  11. I love a good Cognac. Currently have an excellent Hennesy XO wich is marvellous and smooth. Let's hope a celebratory snifter tonight is appropriate.
  12. Connor McKenna actually broke rules though.
  13. If that is the case What then maybe worth a look. I respect your opinion, but the due diligence would have to be pretty epic. Contrite and total change are very different. Has to be virtually no chance of regressing for me. I will also say I have no knowledge to back up my opinions except the details reported in the news.
  14. Wwsw, that is what I would do. Run ANB on Daniels. Almost perfect for the job.
  15. Because the Crows offloaded him for good reason. Wouldn't want him near our club.
  16. Nah, if it was it would be a dental disease!
  17. In the bests, is that the Filipovic we had as a ruck rookie?
  18. Agreed totally. Hand in hand with accountability needs to be respect.
  19. Umpires are already paid pretty well. A HS article from a few years ago said field ups were on a base salary of 65k with match payments on top. Said the top umpires who do the grand final were making about 150k pa. That is enough money to be held accountable, oh - and also to learn how to bounce the damn ball properly.
  20. Of course they will. Full time or not they get paid well to do what they do and should be held accountable for the money they earn. If they went full time, even more so. All I want is accountability, being dropped would also have the same effect and I don't see why that isn't done more often.
  21. I have been thinking about this for a while and I guess this is as good a place as any to put it. There has always been a lot of talk that umpires are not full time professionals, but they are still paid pretty damn well for what they do. I think it is time for them to be held accountable for their performances. I think major howlers should result in fines to the offending official - no matter when in the game the decision is made. Only way I can see to force some improvements. This is regardless of yesterday's game.
  22. Deever, you really do have to look at a map. As the crow flies it's not much different to flying to Brisbane.
  23. Three matches ago I would not have agreed with you Paulo, he was lazy and pretty close to putrid. The following game I thought he did pretty well and was unlucky to be dropped. If a competitive Melksham shows up he is an asset. Otherwise the revolving door continues for him.
  24. I actually think there is another way of looking at the issue. I think that they need to take a good look at holding the man and tackling a player before they take the ball. There is way too much hovering over ball getters and scragging them either too early or just as they touch the ball. If they clamp down on that then it would cause the tacklers to wait until the ball getter actually has proper possession and the split half a second might see cleaner disposals and speed up the game. Of course this would need to be coupled with a clamp down on dropping the ball, or half taking possession. This is where the no prior change would make sense to me as it will help with adjudication of dropping the ball.
  25. Should always support the player going for the ball. Good tackles should be rewarded but not sniping as soon as a player picks up the ball.
