NON-MFC: Rd 15 2023
I'm fully of the view the the player going for, getting and playing the ball should be protected. A bit sick of the snipers waiting off for a ball player to win the ball only to pile on and often the guy trying to make the play gets penalised. I love good tackling but primacy should always go with the ball player.

NON-MFC: Rd 15 2023
I normally don't like to comment on umpires in our games, no matter how bad I feel it was, as I realise I'm coming from a biased point of view. But when I see the inconsistencies in games I have no investment in it says to me the issue is real. It is not umpires making mistakes, that can happen. It's when the inconsistency starts at crucial times in a game affecting momentum or stopping a run on etc that I get really annoyed and frustrated. There should never be a pile on to individual umpires but unless there are complaints about the collective nothing will change. There should be scrutiny on umpires as they are well paid, not full time, but we'll paid. That the AFL doesn't allow it is a huge part of the problem. Openess and scrutiny will improve the overall quality of umpiring and stop the AFLs collusion, real or perceived, of umpires to control outcomes of games. I'm of the view that they are instructed to keep results close or from blowing out where possible. I don't care if a free kick count is one sided, so long as the decisions are applied consistently.

PREGAME: Rd 09 vs Hawthorn
With the Rooey verdict, I can see an AFL backlash against us and expect a horrid run from the umpires this week as reprisal. If it was anyone but Hawthorn (or WCE) this week, I would be backing against us. Also expect some piddling negative stories in the media coming up. Yes, I don't trust the AFL HQ. "Viva la Roo!!"

CASEY: Rd 07 vs Gold Coast Suns
Dazzle, I can't comment on Woey. Think there is lots to work with in Adams. Others said Howes played well, but to me I'm worried about his defensive work. I wonder if there is a better position for him than half back.

Lots to work with. Look forward to watching him develop.

Interesting, I thought he looked pretty weak today. Maybe a bit of a lack of power due to his back, but I wasn't overly impressed.

PREGAME: Rd 08 vs Gold Coast
That's all the info I can find. Luckily I'm staying around the corner. Given entry is on an AFL ticket I would assume that you won't have to leave, and the other gates besides #3 will open at 230pm. Doesn't make sense to even have the staff to clear the ground only to be let back in on the same ticket. Usually good Kebabs at the ground too.

Cameron Bruce surely gets a gig. No love for Scully? Secial mention to Stevie Armstrong and his premiership medal as well. Addit: Bishop should get a look in too.
