  6. I wonder if his fitness has suffered because he didn't play for a lot of last season - so he has some catching up to do to get the kms in the legs?
  7. So hard to find the right words, - so I'll simply say you are all class Daisy - so proud you've been at Melbourne and I wish you and your loved ones all the best for the future.
  8. Hopefully not a 57 year wait for the next premiership 😟
  9. Agree with the sentiment raD. There seems to be only two teams in NSW, unless they happen to play another team in the league. Then you get to see scores for four teams out of 18!
  10. Why not David Cordner?
  11. Came home towards and turned it on to see us take the lead and power on. Brilliant performance.
  12. Don't let Mach 5 read this post.🙂
  13. I certainly hope not for Riv! Will be fascinated to see what Grundy brings for us.
  14. From the highlights package above - I hope he can teach Max to kick straight 🙂
  15. LH - this is an awesome piece of work. PS: You need to adjust the premiership icons which are a bit out of whack since the delistings. Thanks TA
  16. AFL NSW took over our league this year in NW NSW - provided more professionalism during the finals and removed parochial tribunals run by the Club. In a league of 6 teams, only four are competitive and only three or four players from each team are of very good standard.
  17. The 6–6–6 rule: a rule introduced in the AFL from 2019 to reduce flooding that says that at centre bounces each team must have six players in their forward-50 arc, six players in their defensive-50 arc, and six players between the arcs. Based on this information - can someone explain to me why we couldn't use set up with 5 players on the arc and 1 in the square (i.e. Fritch OR BBB). Means we could get quick players to the square to stop quick outlet (out the back by other team) AND also creates plenty of room for a lead by the FF - and also the other 5 could be surging towards the ball location or the additional space created. This is more likely to suit our kick it in the air /bomb long approach and reverts to our style when we had two extra players off the back of the square before the intro of the rule.
  18. That was us in the early 2010's
  19. This award is meant to be for the best and fairest. It lost all credibility when DiPierdomenico won it in 1986 and so it continues this year - Cripps should have been suspended and been ineligible in my opinion. I wonder if Ah Chee thinks he is the fairest?
  20. Was disappointed with the last half. They need to get a defensive Coach - too many easy goals over the back today when Lions swarmed forward. And our forwards need to play in front. Tyla Hanks, Kate Hore and Lily Mithen were great.
  21. So will I - come all the way from Tamworth so have to have a fix of 'Demons' somehow - would have gone to the Women's game today too if the GF was played yesterday.
  22. For those who don't know re: Bassett: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nathan_Bassett As a 19-year-old and was drafted at pick 3 by Melbourne Football Club in the inaugural AFL rookie draft. Melbourne[edit] Drafted with the third selection in the first AFL Rookie Draft by Melbourne in 1997,[1] Bassett was elevated to the senior list after Round 4 in 1997 to replace Craig Turley but suffered a fractured sternum in the next Reserves game and was unable to make his AFL debut for the Demons.[2] When he made his return to the reserves he played six more games at full forward but didn't see much of the ball and wasn't suited to the role.[3] At the end of the season he was traded to Adelaide for Matthew Collins and Brent Williams. So ... we had him as a player and then he was traded back home. As he has spent so much time in Adelaide, perhaps he is happy to stay there?
  23. LJ will always be one of our premiership players and the fact that I got to see a premiership is something that I am very grateful for. I wish him all the best and hope we get a great outcome from the trade.
