  1. Ripper Rita !!!
  2. Forgive me if this point has been laboured beforehand, however I think recent events warrant it being raised again. The AFLPA and others spending time and energy bemoaning how 'unfair' this all is on the players are missing the key point - Player Welfare. The EFC injected drugs into the players and many, if not all, those players still have no idea exactly what's been administered to them. This goes way beyond football and missing a season...the recent news from France illustrates just how badly things can go wrong even in a governed regimen: French Drug Trial Is Halted After Patient Becomes Brain Dead.
  3. It's been going on for some time;
  4. But we were 'not guilty'. Albeit 'AFL not guilty".
  5. Wow, Princess Leia and Jabba the Hutt did have a lovechild after all.
  6. Very relieved that justice has been done. Could this be a watershed moment for the AFL? That they start to now address the underlying problems/issues when they become apparent, instead of focusing on the spin?
  7. To me 'joining the dots' for comfortable satisfaction looks pretty straight forward. As it's CAS deliberating I'd expect a guilty verdict to come in. However were it up to a non-independent tribunal, easily influenced by the AFL and/or politicians, then surely it would be this: https://youtu.be/qAzqSYQ9X9U
  8. Flackie was doing a great job looking after the likes of LJ and Wonna; however I'm not sure he did such a great job of selling the importance of his role to Mark Neeld; and paid the price accordingly. Whilst I agree with you that LJ is still ultimately responsible for his own actions, the withdrawal of Flackie's pastoral care certainly didn't help the situation.
  9. WJ if you're heading to Trinidad & Tobago then 'do yourself a favour' and go visit:
  10. In business we supply to the education industry (amongst others) and had a connection put me in touch with them re possible collaborations. Didn't take too much due diligence to make a 'no go' call on them. Pleased to hear that the regulators are stepping in.
  11. I'm amazed by that narrowness of that line of argument; “In some ways the ineptitude and the incompetence of Stephen Dank, Dean Robinson and others were up to at Essendon has become an alibi in the sense that it’s very difficult. It would create THE blueprint for mass-scale drug cheating going forward.
  12. Yep, that's what I'm barracking for.
  13. Dustin needs help (don't confuse that with being my sympathy). The image he chooses to project doesn't help his cause: Forrest Gump-meets-Vin Diesel-meets-Davy Crockett. Whether you think it's right or wrong, people will judge you, consciously or sub-conciously, on how you choose to present yourself. At an organisational level, it's going to be interesting to see how Richmond and the AFL choose to present themselves in light of the incident.

  17. Hit the nail on the head there Old Dee.
  18. Or is our pheasant plucked?
  19. With the added insight grunt to feed him and better targets to hit, is 2016 going to be the year that Jack's assets really start to shine through?
  20. WOW!. Super agility, clean hands, great goal sense - and he's already familiar with one of our home grounds.
  21. I think Essendon will get great value from their two first picks and they're both pretty safe selections. We've been a tad more speculative - Oliver's relatively light exposure to top level competition and Weideman's ankle issues - however if our bet comes off we've set up the forward line beautifully and have added a really explosive mid/forward. This will make us a really hard side to contain.
  22. Hmmm...just like Santa he may struggle to get to Darwin (or a town like Alice). May struggle in the interstate games in WA and QLD too. All will be OK though Dee Dee if they're night games.
