  1. Interestingly ESPN had Laurie going at pick 24 and Bowey at 36 (although had him going to Ds at that pick). Shows there are fair differences between the real AFL recruiters and the media judges. That is why i would not be surprised to see Mac slip. JT and team were right last year and Bowey slipped due to size perceptions. Maybe same will happen with Mac due to his slight frame? Just prior to the draft day (usually the day before) Callum Twomey usually gets top 10 fairly right due to his contacts loose lips.
  2. I would suggest he will stay until at least he becomes an RFA. Success and a winning culture is hard to leave.
  3. Highly rated rucks have slipped to late 1st round. Eg, Grundy and English. Quite possible Mac Andrew will slip given his projected long runway expected development timeframe. According to Champion Data those players selected early that are most likely to make it are players who can win their own ball hence playing the probabilities inside mids are more popular early. Goes to show how good Jackson must have been as a junior to be taken at 3. Will be interesting to see what happens on draft night. We may well have our sights set on a player/s other than Mac. If we miss the player/s we want its possible we may trade pick 17 back in the draft or although unlikely back into next years.
  4. At the very least Luke is a sensible pick up. Costs us nothing in the way of draft picks and we had 6 available spots. He has proven that he can win the ball as an inside player. We had a lucky run with injuries and now we have a ready made replacement should we cop a few. Sensible pick up Dees.
  5. Grundy and English slipped slipped to late teens. Maybe rucks are more in demand now than before?? Mac as a long term development prospect may well slip. I would think that JT would have options up his sleeve. I would not rule out a draft night move up a little in the order although not sure what with.
  6. Probably been posted earlier but stats for Dunstan this year: 12 Matches Played. 184CM, 85KG DISPOSALS 25.3 ABOVE AVG KICKS 14.1 ELITE HANDBALL 11.2 ABOVE AVG MARKS 4.3 ABOVE AVG TACKLES 4.9 ABOVE AVG TOTAL CLEARANCES 5.8 Elite
  7. No way we miss finals next year. Don't rule out further trades to move up on draft night. Chandler in talks with Crows?? May get a late pick or late future?
  8. If we are going to challenge again next year pressure needs to be on those making the 22 every week. Dunstan will help keep our mids on their toes as well as provide cover for injuries and form drops. Provides experience and is a good age for the list.. Who knows he may just get a chance to play finals. Good pick up.
  9. Yep, and we have Jones, Jetta and VB off the list. So adding a bit of experience of a 26 year old is a good move providing he comes with a great attitude and only a one or two year deal.
  10. Add to depth. Richardson would have inside info. Inside mid. As posters have said it would be a fluke to have minimal injury miss games next year. We rely on inside grunt to take advantage of our ruck supremacy. System based footy may see his best footy. He may well end up a premiership player. Who knows. Good move by Dees. Its not a pick and hope. We know he can play.
  11. NT News article covering Allies game. Andy gets a good wrap. His ACL during under 16's held up his development. Now he is back its been rapid. He has come under notice and invited to the combine. NT Thunder Academy stars Ronald Fejo, Andy Moniz-Wakefield, Brodie Lake star for Allies v South Australia at Adelaide Oval | NT News
  12. He might be better than what we think. Missed part of 2019 and perhaps all or most of 2020 season. Probably hoping to get him for a late pick so not playing it up. Tiger Andy Moniz-Wakefield brings edge from NRL NT’s Darwin | NT News Article headline: Nightcliff Tigers young gun Andy Moniz-Wakefield brings physicality from NRL NT’s Darwin Brothers
  13. If Melks finds a club off his own bat we will let him go. He might be able to eek out a 2 year deal. Otherwise keep him next year as depth and maybe play a few games or more depending on injury and form. Doubt he will NOT get a new contract after next year. Same for Hibbo. We will need to find money to retain our talented youngsters. That is life in footy.
  14. We Gawn and Jacko who are stars in the ruck and Daw as back up. We will likely pick up a young ruck in the draft if one is available. Clubs tend to emulate the Premiers. After seeing Gawn rip the Prelim apart and Jacko play a cracker 3rd Q (good all game) in the GF rucks will likely be picked up earlier than they usually would be.
  15. Freo and WCE would definitely be interested in English. Clubs always back there ability to improve players.
  16. Melks will not get any more time at the Dees after next year if he stays. Hibbo might struggle past another year as well. We have Fritsch coming up for contract next year as well as others then and the year after. Jacko and Oliver will soak up a bit. Jones, Jetta and VB will free up a bit of CAP this year. Melks and Hibbo will free up a bit next year. Having said that the fact we went for Cerra indicates we must have a decent buffer. We must have built up a bit of a 'stash' during the crap years. I think we will be able to keep the bulk of the team together.
  17. 6 list spots to fill. Probably save one for the mid season draft given local and Junior footy will likely resume. If Melksham wants a trade that is 7 spots. Its unlikely we will have the same run with injuries and form so we will need to retain some depth.
  18. Looking forward to watching an interview with JT on the club website. JT and his team have done a great job.
  19. Taj Woewodin is a definite pick up. Mid/defender role. A late developer which a lot of recruiters prefer.
  20. That was an unbelievable 3 goals. Watched that minute over and over and over.
  21. Our kicking for goal has been crap again - Dogs got a couple of lucky ones in comparison. Gawns shot looked a goal. We must have had a crap camera angle.
  22. Oliver. Gawn and Petracca ofter play best in 2nd half. Someone needs to put chains on Daniel.
  23. Go Dees!!! Give em Hell!!!!!!
  24. I doubt Martin will be able to keep up with big Max or be able to cope when Max goes forward. I think Max will run him around early to the point of exhaustion then go forward and Jacko into the ruck. That will force them to move English into the ruck from forward, Martin to bench with Max forward. Max would be full of confidence and height of his powers. He will cause huge headaches for the Dogs when he goes forward. Apart from his incredible marking during the last couple of months we have seen a much more agile and athletic Max around the ground. I am backing our mids to play very well. No doubt you would have watched the Mike Sheahan interview on the MFC website. Ranks our list as easily the best he has seen for the MFC. Ranks our mids as the best currently and Max as the best ruckman. We just have to produce top performance on the day. Max, Trac, Oliver and Viney seem very single minded and determined to produce whatever it takes.. Do Dees!!!!!!
