  1. Preuss is clearly capable at the top level. We are likely waiting to see what GWS get on some of their deals. We have been accumulating draft picks so we may offer Pruess and a later pick for a pick in the early 20's if one is available. We have no option but to trade TMc for whatever we can get. Nightmare scenario we recruit Brown and he cannot recapture his form and plays Casey with TMc. We would be the laughing stock. So we cannot have both on the list. Its different if one of them was in ok top level form. We are accumulating picks likely to see what players are available on last trading day? Maybe even to trade up on draft night due to all the Academy selections. In any case we would have a strategy up our sleeve. We still have next years 1st rounder.
  2. The supply of players on the market is more than most years so what you get is likely smaller unless talking a real gun. Will be hard to find a home for TMc. Maybe with Brown taking the best backman he will be better on the 2nd or 3rd tall. Maybe have to give him a try down back again and move May up the ground for a trial. He is strong and quick and you can play through him. Have to try something.
  3. Yep, evidently we will rely on further development of our existing quicker speedy outside players which is good. Throw down the gauntlet and see who picks it up. Probably not a bad idea to get an elcheapo tall Forward/ruck on a 1 year deal as emergency cover. eg, Mc Kernan
  4. I forgot we have Petty, Jackson and maybe Brown to cover for the loss of Pruess, and the Macs
  5. Throw the kitchen sink at Phillips and Brown. 2nd round kitchen sinks - no more. We desperately need some more outside skill.
  6. If we are going to trade out Pruess and the 2 Macs we will need to bring in a tall. Brown may as well be it. He is good on the lead Our forward line is like a dogs breakfast no one except the opposition backs seem to know where ours mids are going to kick it.
  7. Preuss may go but who fills in if Gawn has an injury. We really need to develop Jackson primarily as a forward. Problem is we may get a can't refuse offer, which we take and worry about the rest later.
  8. Weed took 5 year to get consistency in his game. Hunty may well be the same. Maybe the penny has finally dropped. Next year may be his year.
  9. Come on Joeboy, Kosi was very good.
  10. Definite nomination. Rivers, Kosi and Jackson are going to be exceptional for the club.
  11. Any one know what is up with Bennell.? Likely just resting him to get him right for next season. Not on injury list. Last time he played he looked very tired.
  12. COVID crazy. Difficult times always bring the nutters out. They are popping up everywhere in the community at the moment. We have had so much education and media over many, many years now that its only complete nutters who would make offensive racial comments. No doubt the club is assisting Kozzy in every way they can.
  13. I though Weed was ok given delivery issues. May good. Lever ok. Our mids were down compared to the past few weeks. I thought Pruess was ok. It was our mids that let him down.
  14. If Max is 100% fit he comes in no question otherwise Pruess stays. Cant play both ATM. Having said that i thought Pruess competed very well against Maggs. No doubt there will be queries from other clubs at seasons end. Otherwise no changes.
  15. Weed was good again. Makes a big difference to our forward structure when he is going well. Good on ya Weed
  16. TMc may fire up without pressure. One of our talls will get their 3rd tall defensive option, likely more of a medium/tall. Fortunately Jackson and T Mc are fairly mobile and good runners.
  17. Bennell looked tired in the last half especially last week. No zip. So a rest looks appropriate. Swallow deserves a go. TmC will stretch their backs. He and Jackson are mobile and can run all day. Looks like Port are backing their mids to flogg ours like the Lions mids did.
  18. Reading between the lines of Goodies presser The Weid and Jacko will be in. Discussing whether 3 talls can be played. Asked whether T Mc can play wing he said it will be discussed. So maybe not wing.
  19. Given that we have had very few 40 plus point wins of late why would we change the team. Save rotations for the short turnarounds.
  20. Geez, it would be hard and outright idiocy to make personnel changes after a big win like that. I would say no change on the basis that big wins like that have been rare for us of late plus fitting 9 rounds into 6 weeks or so plus our catch up Dons game will require rotation resting in any case.
  21. Smells like 2018 except our guns are more mature and better. Just a sniff though at this stage but promising. Jackson looks like he will be a player. The Weid looks like he has reclaimed his late 2018 confidence - except he has matured since then - GREAT sign for things to come. Add a fit May, Bennell, Langdon plus our recruits. Who does T Mc come in for?????/
  22. I agree with those who suggest Jackson will take a bit of the ruck load from Gawny. We are heading towards that period where we have plenty of games in a short period plus the Dons catch up game. Managing Gawn would be a big factor with the advantage of getting games under Jackson's belt.
  23. After years of education and constant media reminders of the need to behave in a social and a whole of community minded manner those that still engage in this sort of behavior are obviously not quite right - for various reasons i will not go into. Its a reminder that there is still a way to go and those breaking the law should be punished.
  24. I just watched the after match interview with Weid. Geez, he was pumped by the win, getting back in after 12 months and making a decent contribution. Watching you could see how much it all meant to him. Hopefully he will build on that and be a regular in the 22. Well done Weid.
  25. Good win in the end. Bennell has smarts and Pickett will be good. O Mc takes the pressure off Lever and May. We need more composure with the ball. VB goes at the ball really hard. Some very silly kicks and handballs at times. Maybe some confidence from the win will allow them to be more relaxed on disposal?
