  1. There's just no way they could be given draft assistance after having them removed for poor governance. I know the AFL isn't afraid to be hypocritical and just go with it, but that would just a bridge too far for too many fans of the game.
  2. I just hope they don't get Melbournised.
  3. I agree. I find it interesting that he often accused of 'playing the victim' simply because he passionately advocates for social change.
  4. Port probably say the same thing about Wines. Love Brayshaw :D
  5. If true, this disturbs me greatly. Like when I hear about the TV rating for reality shows. I just can't fathom millions of aussies watching that tripe.
  6. I recall the football public saying that our putrid results as a result of tanking were our own mistakes and we should suffer the consequences. Live by the sword, die by the sword.
  7. Ha, very good DC, very good. Also it looks like WADA are appealing the AFL's decision to clear Dank on 20 odd charges: http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/wada-appeals-stephen-dank-antidoping-tribunal-ruling-20150601-ghel3x.html
  8. There's an article in the age this morning about Watson the Elder lamenting the effect of the saga on Essendon's list management. Because list management is the most important thing here, not unknown substances administered to young men over a protracted period by their employer. But what do I know?
  9. I don't agree with you much Wrecker but this one makes sense to me. Boo the opposition footy player just like any other. I hope you're right about the majority falling the same boat, unfortunately there are a few posts in the other Goodes thread that make me doubt it.
  10. Good article here, goes to the heart of why some people don't like Goodes: http://www.dailylife.com.au/news-and-views/dl-opinion/the-real-reason-people-are-outraged-over-adam-goodes-war-dance-20150601-ghdt84.html
  11. lol, yeah, and then it completely vanished. I just don't get it. Edit: I miss Kent. He always has a real go.
  12. The most frustrating thing for me is seeing a team full of pressure and tackling and EFFORT last week, and then not seeing it this week. I just don't get how the attitude changes so quickly. It's not like we got more or less skilled all of a sudden.
  13. Here's the problem right here. We haven't 'moved on from that'. There is still significant social inequality in Australia regarding Indigenous Peoples. Of course Goodes at times wouldn't seem to like Australia. There is a lot to dislike. Disagreeing with your country's social policies and wanting equality for your people does not equate to hating your own country, nor does it make you a horrible person. I'm sure Neil Mitchell doesn't agree with everything Australia does either. Damn right Goodes is trying to change the country.... FOR THE BETTER. You can't just stagnate with the same policies over and over again. The country needs to change and improve, especially with regards to Aboriginal social equity. Demonising someone for wanting to change the country is ridiculous. Mitchell is the dangerous one here for having his head in the sand and convincing other people to do the same, not Goodes. As for the girl, I agree with Hardtack. I couldn't see she was 13 from the TV, how could Goodes see it from the ground? He called out racism when he saw it, something to be applauded. With regards to the war dance, how cares? Let the guy do a war dance if he wants if that's the way he wants to honour his heritage. It doesn't effect any one else. No one bats an eye at the Hakka (sp).
  14. No organisation could possibly be so hypocritical. Sigh, who are we kidding.
  15. Do you seriously think they didn't?
  16. That photo looks like someone took the left and right sides of Jobe Watson's face and swapped them around. I also like how Fletcher's hand and the guy two spots to the right are the same hand. It's been photoshopped to show the KIA logo and copied and pasted.
  17. Merge Carlton and Essendon into one superteam of moral corruption. The Caligulas? Give the last spot to a Tassie club.
  18. Not that we know of. *cough* Hogan *cough*
  19. Lol OD, does your entire day involving skimming the forum for a positive post and finding a way to make it a downer? I went from the 400 game thread to this one and both posts were you being all sad. Cheer up mate! Someone else is crap instead of us! Having said that I enjoy your predictable negativity. It is a bastion of certainty in these volatile times.
  20. 400 is a pretty amazing feat. I think you'd basically have to be best 22 from the age of 18 and play right through to twilight. Jones won't get there. If I had to pick from the current crop it'd be Brayshaw, but I wouldn't be putting much on it.
  21. WOW! I've never seen replays of him and I'm too young to have seen him play. That reel is ridiculous. I know the game was rougher back then but that stuff is outright wrong. He hunted players and took them out, sometimes behind play. Absolutely dirty as hell. You're right, I can't see him being allowed to play today.
  22. This post reminds me of Old Dee.
  23. Looks like it's all happening now. Mick in a meeting with bosses. Carlton staff told not to leave the building. http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/crisis-at-carlton-blues-set-to-sack-mick-malthouse-20150526-gh9qof.html
  24. This is what really gets my goat up. Their explanation is just crazy, it's so unreasonable. Everyone in the chain thought it was TB4. The tribunal even put that in their findings. How they then say "oh we can't be sure what was actually in the vials" is just silly. I take drugs from a pharmacist, but I don't know what's actually in there is what it says on the box. How could I? But I take it at the prescribed dosage and prescribed timetable, and I get the result the doctor said I would. But it might have been something else! Give me a break. Standard of proof required was set unreasonably high.
