I think we beat both teams based on tonight's form.

Gee, Grey is a class player. Knows the importance of a crucial goal.
-
Why on earth is Hannan rucking when they have English and Young?
-
Bont has completely gone missing. Hasn't touched the ball this quarter.
-
Daniel's kicking is a treat to watch.

Bont tearing this game to shreds early on

Fast start Doggies!

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - KYSAIAH KROPINYERI PICKETT

This was always one of my favourite sub-plots to the larger story that was Melbourne vs Adelaide. It would always be a fascinating duel. I think their first clash together back in 2014 was Neville's break out game. -
Think GWS had about 8 nominations in their first season. If I can recall, we also had 4 nominations in 2016 being Oliver, Petracca, Harmes and OMac.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - JAKE BOWEY

18 years old yet has the maturity and composure of a 200 gamer. I already feel at ease whenever I see him with ball in hand. Safe to say that with 4 Rising Star nominations this season (including the likely winner), the future is in good hands! -
Luke ‘dogga’ Jackson rising star favourite
Demon Jack replied to Dave1711's topic in Melbourne Demons
I think he's a real barometer in this side which is staggering for a second year ruckman. For instance, during our dip in form between round 15 and 19 which included 2 wins (one of which being a rather lukewarm 11 point win against the Bombers), 2 losses and a draw, Jackson only averaged 9 disposals and kicked just the 2 goals. Over the last three weeks/wins, he's averaged 18 disposals and kicked 6 goals. His development has been astounding this year. -
Bont had 31 touches in the loss against the Hawks. Can't say he had his usual influence but he might squeeze out a vote or two simply because he's 'The Bont'. Howe was a clear BOG standout from that match.

Jesse kicked 7 against the Saints back in 2016. But gee, aside from that, you'd have to potentially go back to Robbo against the Pies on QB in 2007.

6. Fritsch 5. Langdon 4. Gawn 3. Lever 2. Jackson 1. Petracca

Bayley Fritsch, take a bow! Take his final three goals out of the equation and I think he still had a career best day. Was chasing and tackling all afternoon.

Fast start at the Gabba with 3 goals within 2 minutes of game time.

96 point loss for Marc Murphy in his final game. Poor guy. He's been a warrior for the Blues in the same way Jones has been for us.
-
Brad Hill Yikes...

Wow, genuinely missed that Port are currently on 60 points. Seemed like they were in all sorts when we beat them some weeks ago. In that case go Blues as well as St Kilda!
-
Correct me if I'm wrong, but if the Saints keep this up and run over Geelong and we beat the Crows tomorrow, we lock away top of the ladder, yes?
-
Jeez, the Dogs look bloody ordinary today. The Hawks in their 'Clarko's Farewell Tour' are in a good spot to claim another victim

My love for this man knows no bounds.

Bump! Take a bow ANB! Was a big factor in our win tonight!
-
Congratulations to ANB who will run out for game number 100 on Monday night! A good story of perseverance after two years rotating between the senior team and the VFL and nearly being traded at the end of last season. He's come back with a great attitude and is quite possibly the personification of the 'selfless' approach embraced by the side this season. He doesn't always accumulate big numbers from a stats perspective, but he's playing a key pressure role in our forward half alongside Pickett and Spargo. Seems to have really developed some good leadership qualities over the last couple of years as well. I still have flashbacks of when he burst onto the scene in his second or third game and snagged a few to help seal our famous win against Geelong back in 2015. What a day that was!
