Jordan Lewis is absolutely cooked, never pick him again
Quote of the year. Our biggest weakness is foot speed entering our D50 from a quick play. The club either has the balls now to get games into Frost and Hunt, or go down in flames in finals with Lewis and Vince plodding.

Jake Melksham - the AFL's one on one king!
Luff mentioned last week that Melksham is at about 50%; Dusty 54%; whereas comp average is 30ish for memory. Melbourne seem to go to him in a one-on-one, when he isn't even at a clear advantage; which means his 1-on-1 prowess has been long understood internally. I wanted Melksham dropped after the Richmond loss for the record.

Is Brayshaw more rounded than the Trac?
Gus is more tilted, like Rod Carter.

Ollie Wines
When I think of Trac over McCartin, that makes one forget in some ways the fact that the MFC has passed on Nic Nat, Wines and Co. Thank god the Saints listened to their dietitian over common sense. The MFC has always defaulted to the nice guy you would want your daughter to marry. I am surprised we don't have 21 young-liberals representing us. As for Martin, there is no way in the world the MFC would have retained him during his wayward years. Just my view.

Anyone for cricket?
When all is said and done, Lehmann is my bet as the mastermind. Where is he? This will not only end careers, it has the potential to end a life. A few will be in a dark place for a long long time.

Anyone for cricket?
Can't believe the test is still going. Australia has lectured the world in playing proper cricket. Remember Murali and the no-ball saga? Darrel Hair? Hair wanted to make a name for himself. Remember Stuart Broad? Just stood his ground like a lot of Aussie cricketers (bar Gilly) has in the past. David Warner and Australia have been pushing boundaries for years. There comes a time when the bully meets a bigger bully. South Africa 2018 has rattled them.. A leopard rarely changes his spots. Just feel sorry for Bancroft who has been thrown under a bus. Darren Lemon - should be his last national coaching gig this test match. In it to his eyeballs. Murali and Broad must feel 50 feet tall today. And Darrel Hair? Is he a free man or in the slammer at the moment?

Best MFC team in last 50 years
Northey Coach. How B Lovett can not start in the 18 is beyond me. How G Lovett makes the squad is beyond me.

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
I like Fan's quote, but this one also resonates with me too.

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
It took you 3 years to get over Frawley? Took most 3 minutes. Be careful using the adjective AA. It puts Rance and Frawley on an equal pedestal.

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
Adelaide were going to take what they could get. Which club was going to offer anywhere near what we did? Like going to an Auction, and bidding 200K above reserve with your first bid

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
We paid too high a price. Which Vic club was going to offer anything like the farm? Adelaide are laughing. We could have screwed them and played chicken to the end. Goodwin and Co are desperate for finals in 2017. Great, but takes from the next decade.

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
Melbourne should play hardball. Crows have treated Lever like siht. We should re-arrange contracts so we can front-end him a whopping amount that other clubs cannot match in 2018. Let him go to draft. One thing better than Lever? Lever and 10 and 27. Worth the risk in my book. That is my take. I aint KB.

Glaring weakness in defence
A year ago, who would have predicted Tom McDonald would be playing AA footy... as a forward? Probably as important to our defense as Rance for Richmond. But when a guy can just go forward and play the way he has, in a year where Hogan has stagnated, and Kent has gone backwards; we have no choice to bank on McDonald forward. Those stats don't surprise. North took a risk by playing 3 tall forwards. They don't clunk it, then defenders run it out easy. They gambled. They won. We just need to stick fat with Frost (who should keep taking them on) and Oscar. If Watts doesn't impact forward, he will be the next one thrown back IMO.

Joe Daniher
Easy solution. Give him 20 shots at goal from 35 out on a 45 degree angle. Every goal he kicks, he gets $100k per year on his contract. Don't think they will be up for 2 mill a year.

Zak Jones
Gee wiz, MFC attracting a player with speed has been the: - exception (Garlett) - not the rule - (Vince, Melksham, Lewis, Tyson....) Stretch isn't doing enough at this early stage, and Garlett doesn't line-break through a defence; but rather Garlett is great out the back. We have over-dosed on inside strength, and have an under-supply of line-breaking outside speed from D50. Jones will be considered, irrespective of family.

Nat Fyfe
Yes Caro. How dare you print the truth without the blokey SEN hyperbole MMM white male boys club carp...that is often music to the ears of the simpleton.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - CLAYTON OLIVER
He only actually realised the sacrifices over the past 12 months. Most potential draftees realise it at least 3-4 years beforehand. In 2014, Oliver was "tubby" according to a few teammates at the Bushrangers. If you consider how far he has come in a short time of "discipline over indulgence" (Lyonism), the upside you see might actually be higher.

Delistings/trades at end of the season
Brainstorming exercise..................... If Fyfe was a Victorian (and he's not), would you consider Fyfe for Hogan plus 3rd round pick this Christmas. The lure for Hogan to go home and awful supply will get to him eventually. What would WC give up for him? Gaff (23 y.o) & Shuey? Gaff, Lamb and 1st round pick next year? Hogan's price is high. If the inevitable will happen one day, might as well cash in big in the boom.

The Jack Viney Made Me Cry Thread
Many here can knit-pick at his odd mis-kick etc.. This bloke is so un-Melbourne and will have a huge say in changing our culture. He has heart and guts and gives 100% every minute. So many credits in the bank, it aint funny. Injuries aside, Brayshaw, Viney and Kent in the middle in the 2019 GF might be a pipe-dream, but they will stand up on the last day.

The Ollie Whines Lounge
The thing that hurts with Wines is that he wanted to come here. As I posted with my first post on land, basically there was a chance to build a fraternity hereโฆa brotherhood. I'd love to know the inside machinations of the decision. Neeld probably wanted to exert his power over Todd.
