The 2019 Draft and Trade Targets Thread
I would pick Anderson first. Big upside and his style and run makes him the AFL prototype But Rowell is ready to go in the midfield from round 1 2020. Suns may go for Rowell as a young leader. Great player. Selwood mould.

10 things to see v Kangas
Wake up Goodwin Kangas destroying Power How??? Ben Brown is no rocket scientist but his halftime convo with Richo gave us the 3 answers 1- Goldy is winning the ball out of the middle 2- we are linking up runners with 2 or 3 runners and then a kick THOROUGH THE CORRIDOR (hello simpletons) 3- forwards have space AS THE BALL IS COMING IN QUICK (Power also kicking to Tarrant and Thompson - see point 8 of what not to do) Goodwin. Listen now.

WELCOME TO DEMONLAND - ED LANGDON
Get Langdon. But donโt let the coaches talk to him. They will kill his run.

2019 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
Both Anderson and Rowell. We need a Anderson or Ash type of skilled mid to run and deliver. Anderson is like Dayne Beams/Mitch Duncan type as he can accumulate in the midfield and also score goals. Rowell is the Joel Selwood type which is great but probably not critical for us. Ash is your fast effective wing or ruck rover. He could be exactly what we need and ready to go. Have to hope Goodwin doesnโt restrain his burst of pace and go negative. Think of a younger bigger Kade Simpson who likes to run

10 things to see v Kangas
Watching the cats. They play my 10 point plan. Quick ball movement. Holding guys like Andrews, Adams, Hodge accountable in the back half

What has happened to Salem?
Salem had a good first 1/2 of 2019 BUT now either turnovers the footy or does a 15 metre chip wide or to no one should be hitting targets with 40 metre clearances poor 2nd half and has been either injured or lost all chance confidence
-
Our smalls are lightweights
Spargo plays like a grade 6 - 12 year old- type. Kicks go about 20 metres often resulting in turnovers. Give me an indigenous small forward x-factor type. Not a turnover tiny ineffective type.

Who will be our caretaker coach mid next year if Goodwin is sacked ?
Voss!!

Latest joke of a team
Whatโs worse in life Receiving a parking ticket OR been given a Dees membership? Itโs a poll ... with Dees membership winning 90% of the vote Shows how quickly we have become the joke of the AFL. Coach and players are insulated from the crap we have to put up with in the general public.

Demonland Player of the Year - Round 22
But I guess 6- Melksham for at least scoring 5- Lewis. He delivered the ball without clangers 4- Lever. He spoiled punched tackles and defended as get as humanly possible 3- Frost. See Lever comments 2- Petracca. Because he tried 1- Gawn. Because he gave his all AGAIN. big man. Big heart

Key question facing Melbourne in the off season.
Good article. We have been yelling all year to this. It takes Twomey to give a brief. Ffs.

10 things to see v Kangas
1- some passion and heart for the contest. Last night was an embarrassing return to no respect. Swans rubbed our noses in the dirt and they are rebuilding. 2- Preuss in. Spargo out. Team selections due to no form and no structure have been very puzzling. Preuss needs to be given more time. 3- run and run and kick long. Yes sometimes there is no forwards but we go so slow, the opposition simply flood back and strangle us. Keep two forwards inside 50. At least one capable off marking the footy. Simple stuff. 4- Kick the goal. Our goal accuracy is horrible. Simple shots missed from 20-30 metres in front. Plus โ kick the goalโ. We overhandballing inside the 50. Itโs like no one wants to kick the goal. They are scared to kick it. We try to run by handball to the 10 metre square. Ridiculous strategy!! 5- lazy footy. Chip kicks 15 metres sideways. Safe and lazy. Salem. Hibberd. Viney play it safe and actually slow down movement 6- Centre square clearances. For a dominant ruckman in Gawn, we LOSE most centre square clearances! Oliver Viney Brayshaw Petracca are all good in the inside 7- forward strategy. Why do our forwards always lead to the pockets. Itโs totally stupid. If you mark it or crumb it, itโs a 10% chance of accuracy. And itโs so easily spiked/punched out of bounds. 8- stop leaving the opposition with a loose defender. Rance/Grimes, Hurn/McGovern, Rampe/Lloyd, Stewart/Henry. This week itโs likely to be THOMPSON AND Macmillan just sitting back and picking off our sloppy forward 50 entries with no opponent. So many teams rebound out of our defence too easily. They back themselves to win the footy and destroy us with counter attack skill week after week. Our loose defender has no effect. Man up all over. 9- 2nd effort running. Too many players handball and kick and stop. Maybe itโs the turnovers that have led to no confidence in our forward movement. Good teams , like us in 2018, run in waves and give options. Itโs like having extra players. Maybe itโs a lack of fitness. Try this at least for the last game. Just try attacking. No matter what the score, our goal should be 15 goals. 10- play the full quarter and the full ground. Our players switch off too easily. They work for 90% and switch off. Itโs costly. Itโs the poor handball or poor kick that ruins the run. Itโs laziness. The ball is nearly over so we stop. Push hard for 100%. Itโs all a laugh and giggle sometimes. We are not ready in the first 2-3 minutes or the 25 minute onwards. We concede so many goals at the start and end of the quarter. Goody should be screaming โswitch onโ about 100 times a game. Give us something this week. Our year has been embarrassing. Really destroying our faithful and loyal members and supporters.
