Petty reminded me of Jack Watts selection Clearly not ready for the game and easily pushed aside The kid has real promise but needs more time in the gym and body positioning omcd also looked lost again and is slipping backwards quickly after showing positive signs

2018 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch

Luke Valente was BOG v Allies. The kid is seriously good. I thought MFC could steal him around the 30 pick but I think he will go top 15-20 now. -
Welcome to Demonland Toby Bedford

It’s a Yes from me. The kid has pace and raw ability. Competitive streak. Fills a small forward role only. He is small and skinny. About 66 kegs and would be behind Spargo in the benchpress. But as a NGA allocation, he is worth a pick 50/60 opportunity. -
Is Jeffy Garlett just trade bait now?
spirit of norm smith replied to YesitwasaWin4theAges's topic in Melbourne Demons
Jeffy could be given a game to share his ability to fit the new defensive/ offensive requirements. He is too good to be at VFL level. -
100% get Gaff. Victorian boy. Barracked for the Dees. Offer a big 5 year deal around $600k a year. Gaff is exactly the connect player we need. Does it both when the Eagles are flying but lifts when others struggle.

Agree. How much do we “value” the finals

Is Jeffy Garlett just trade bait now?

Garlett and Frost seem to be this years “out of favour players”. Both in my best 22 at the start of 2018 although not sure things. Jeffy is IMO still very valuable and just needs a run. Players like Jeffy often are ambivalent at VFL level but step up in the AFL arena. -
Is Jeffy Garlett just trade bait now?

Yes probably gets delisted now. Really unfortunate he won the game v Lions when 20 others went to sleep played 2 down games then dropped seems to be on the outer as is Sam Frost -

Toby Bedford keeps impressing as our Next Gen Academy pick. Many clubs this year have father-son, Academy and NGA rights on players, many of which fall in the top 10-30. Mitchell Riordan hurt his hamstring last week and will miss the rest of the championships. Not such a bad thing. He will be a star. All the attributes. Think how Sloane and Parker were end of 2nd round bargains. Riordan is this years bargain as he is likely to slide to 30-35 range. -
It’s been 3 days since this post has refreshed. Keeping the momentum!!

Will just play a role. Steady half back. Lacks pace but heart and soul are strong. Hope he one day comes back to MFC in a coaching or managerial role. A great young bloke

Marc Murphy. Yes. A two year deal on $250,000 base Low cost. High risk. High reward.

Why??!

we NEED to win a few upset games in the last 5-6. At 8-3, our season was setup for 15/7. That’s 4th/5th. Now with last 2 losses, 13/9 is the most realistic view which is a 7-9th position finish is the balanced view. Probably have to win v Giants in round 23

The big ticks 1- Oliver is a star. Brayshaw is a star. Viney is a star. 2- Hogan could be a star 3- Melksham has stepped up 4- big Maxy is the best ruckman in the league 5- attacking footy is on the menu Wish list 1- a second big defender Petty or Frost 2- Gartlett needed and hopefully we get 100% effort 3- smart footy. Not just aimless bombs or kick to the pockets. Petraccas IQ to lift 4- Pace and pace. We need more to break up defensive structures 5- a healthy run ahead ... Lever was a big loss
-
Dogs were robbed. Unfortunately as we needed ROOS to lose
-
Hunt update ... I like him in the team to provide real run and pressure. Definitely hope he’s back in a few weeks
