Trade Rumours 2023
Grundy to Cats Grundy to Power Grundy to Swans lots of options it was always a strange decision to recruit him, and how would they go sharing ruck and playing forward. An experiment at best but if he goes, who’s the backup ruck to Max. Verrell is still developing. Needs another 12 months at least. Farris-White is still learning, too raw and skinny.

COACHES VOTES: Rd 22 2023
9 George Hewett (CARL) 7 Patrick Cripps (CARL) 7 Nicholas Newman (CARL) 3 Jack Viney (MELB) 2 Angus Brayshaw (MELB) 1 Christian Petracca (MELB) 1 Jacob Weitering (CARL) so Goody. Voss Hewett 5 4 Newman 4. 3 Viney 3. 0 Cripps 2. 5 Petracca 1 0 Brayshaw. 0. 2 Weitering. 0. 1 Goody is a %^&*+}[>€£. Favours votes to the opposition. Bizarre !! We lost by a “phantom” fingernail. My votes. Viney 5. Gus 4. Newman 3. Rivers 2 Cripps 1. Time after time, Voss and many other coaches give votes to their own players as a preference.

Umpiring discrepancies
I’m still angry. It was a goal. Marchbank didn’t even protest (unlike Silly-Silvagni I’m the 93 GF). How did the goal umpire categorically decide it was touched. Usually the call (99-1 ratio) is “it’s a goal but it may have been touched “ but MFC got the one umpire that decides he categorically thinks it’s touched. Sure it wasn’t the sole reason we lost … but it was one of the reasons we didn’t win !!!

The Run Home
Tough games now. Heard the phrase “Every game is like a final “. If we want second place, we have to win both these games. Hawks are up and about. Best the pies. Beat the dogs. Good young list coming together with some confidence. We should beat them but don’t underestimate this one. Sydney in Sydney. Round 23. Buddy’s farewell. Swans are back in form , in the mix and in top 8 now.

CASEY: Rd 21 vs Carlton VFL
I agree Redleg. So many wasted chances on the weekend from MFC and at Casey. Skills are disappointing. Forward 50 entries desperately need more work. Goalkicking needs serious improvement. Scoring is s as crucial part of the game and we are lacking right now.

CASEY: Rd 21 vs Carlton VFL
Must. I agree. JVR is too raw. We can’t expect him to carry the forward line. Schache is not the answer. Tmcd and BBB will be in retirement at season end. At least Tomlinson can mark the footy and I’d back him to kick at least at 50%.

POSTGAME: Rd 22 vs Carlton
We were missing Fritsch and Petty. Petty gone for the season. Blues had 6 of their best 18 out. And two of their best 5. Sure we were robbed in the last minute. but overall we missed chances and couldn’t get it done. We simply were not good enough. Goody should be really disappointed. I am.

My 3 word player analysis V Carlton
Agree. He and Bowey were not good. When I look at the runners from half back and run and carry , both Bowey and Salem need to do much better.

Petracca: The Dees are Ready for September
Scoring also hopefully still gets a mention. With Petty out, others will need to step up in next 6-7 weeks.
