The Kalani White Thread
Didn’t expect him to … think he’ll go in the 50s as a pick to be matched by MFC
-
Judd McVee contract
Pick “24” would likely blow out to pick 35 or 36 on draft night.

Trade Targets
We need to nail 1 or 2 players in a trade/FA period, then 2 more in the draft and add White and Sinnema. Surely we are taking to the Hawks about Henry Hustwaite. Young mid who is squeezed out of their midfield even before Day comes back. Offer him a sweet 3 year deal and could be a good chance.

2025 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
@Whispering_Jack @dazzledavey36 thanks. I think the talent pool is “less, lower” and also highlighted by the many many academy, NGA or father son picks. Up to 10 first rounders could be already pre-nominated so the “first round” could stretch to pick 28 or 29 this year. I have a few smokies that could be good value for the Dees in the 2nd or 3rd round. It’s these picks that also can prove a recruiters value. I thought Sinnema looked okay and I think we will nominate and add him, maybe as a late pick or as a cat B rookie. He has class with the footy in hand. He’s not an instant walk up and will need time. But a skill ball user is something we need to add.

Welcome to Demonland: Luker Kentfield
Three things we like about Kentfield He marks the ball with sure hands and at its high point He kicks with balance and simple straight forward style He has footy aggression with the ability to take a contested mark or crash a pack. Since the backline folly has ended, his return to the key forward position has been impressive. He can keep developing at Casey over the next 5 weeks but yet still might get a debut before year end … with no pressure.

Trade Targets
@JTR or Collingwood … who brought in smart trade , DFA and FA recruiting …Hill,Houston, Lipinski, Schultz, Perryman, Mcstay, and role players in Long, Markov, Frampton, Membrey, and still added Allan and West.

Trade Targets
Missed the point. It was to bring in experienced players who add to your best 22. We lost players year on year and never replaced them. We have taken a strategy to not consolidate as a top team but gamble with the chance to get youth in. “All the top selections are ok” (?) I’d argue that … yes to JVR, Windsor, Lindsay and Langford. Kolt and Jeffo are highly doubtful. The main point was that we added players that were barely VFL players at other clubs and didn’t strengthen our best 22. We have got weaker year on year since 2021. We were a potential destination club for players to come to for a shot at a premiership. Not any more !!!

Trade Targets
Harley Reid] and his family have made it clear they do not want to go to a struggling club." ❌ St Kilda ❌ Melbourne ❌ Essendon ❌ North Melbourne We are now a “STRUGGLING” Club with sub par training facilities. Attract Reid? Attract Butters? That’s far from possible. Pre 2021 Hibberd, Lever, May, Melksham, Langdon, Tomlinson, Brown all improved our list Since 2021 premiership We’ve lost Jackson, Brayshaw 💔, Hibbo, ANB, Jordan, Harmes, Bedford , Hunt Added … nil. donuts. no one !! We have added no one. I’ve heard the Salary Cap used as an excuse. It’s an excuse for lazy trading. Grundy was a punt that didn’t pay off and was a long shot at best. Schache, Billings, McAdam. Fullerton. Lazy trading. Free agents brought in …

Joe Daniher - worth a knock on his door?
Joe Daniher. Seriously. Who was drunk and thought this was the best idea?? He left the Bummers and moved to Brisbane because he didn't want to be in the fishbowl of the Melbourne frenzy on footy !! Loves the relaxed Byron Bay life.

Joe Daniher - worth a knock on his door?
Is it APRIL 1ST … ? Surely a joke!!!

Time to start a rebuild?
Dees would not survive like a West Coast bottoming out. The Eagles have the $$$$s to survive. Their home crowds are still passable. If the Dees sink to 17th/18th in a year or two, it’s a disaster for a club in so many ways… especially given that the Dees were spruiked by some as ready for a dynasty !! 💔

May to Tribunal
Surely the May incident was a split second collision where both players are going to win the ball. The ball doesn’t run, it’s pops up and May arrives 0.00008 second late. His shoulder hits Evans high. Accidental. His eyes are always on the footy. MRO Christian takes any opportunity to crucify Dees. If he gets suspended, will we fight it? Surely we must. Dees must stand up.

Time to start a rebuild?
Rebuild? Dees cannot afford to bottom out. Tassie still likely to come in and will take premier draft picks across two drafts at least Our revenue is still low with 2025 membership figures estimated at 56000 in 2025 (down from 65000 on 2024) (down from 70000 in 2023) … I think we are now below Dogs and Saints ( only ahead of Kangas for Vic clubs) Relevance? We are already quiet on the AFL agenda except for negative noise around culture and players leaving The FIXture. We would be given dead end time slots, even worse than 2025. Our last rebuild saw us miss finals for 12 years. We need to bounce back NOW and not be satisfied that we were 2021 🏆premiers. Why are we so comfortable with one flag , played in WA , that we all move on in silence

Judd McVee contract
Eagles forums showing McVee as an addition for 2026. Dees should give him 3 year deal and shutdown this gettable [censored]. We cannot afford to lose young talent. Mcvee is more of a half back with his skill able to get us movement through the corridor or into forward 50. AMW will assume small defender role in 2026.

PODCAST: Rd 19 vs Carlton
Lots to talk about. Lots to play for. ❤️💙Clarry. 200 games. 👏👏he showed energy and desire. He gave it 100%. Umps didn’t reward him and penalized him for smallest of indiscretions 💙❤️Kozzzzy. Magic. We love him. He was exciting and 5 goals again surely locks him in for All Australian selection. He’s the future for us. 👍🏻Fritsch. Again showed better intent and has class to create and finish. Still need more energy but he’s important for us 👍🏻Harvey Langford. Another very good game from Harvs and he’s definitely in Rising Star conversation. Though the media is pushing up Dan Curtin and Murphy Reid 👍🏻Riv was good. He still has run and gun and we need him given some more CBA opportunities 👍🏻 Max battled against two big rucks and was one of our best The rest were average. Some were poor!! Kolt definitely needs a block at Casey Questions. Can we withstand a rebuild? We were in the wilderness for 12+ years after the 2006 season and our prior “rebuild”. Our finances and membership and relevance would be severely dented by another poor season next year. Umpiring standard was shocking. The non free to Clarry who catches the Blues player clearly holding the ball and no free!! 40 metrs out from our goal. A possible chance to hit the lead. Then a soft free to Curnow for barely a hold and he kicks it to ice the game. When will we stand up and call up the poor umpiring to the AFL? or do we just lie down and accept it as a soft club Buckley was commenting on the game and called out …”Dees lack of movement ahead of the footy … Apart from Kozzy, Dees have few threatening forward options … Dees mids are not goal kickers any more “ Overall he was constructive, so any thoughts on Buckley as a future coach (from 2027 most likely?)
-
Umpiring standard
Wish we had a CEO with a voice And Brad Green is a nice guy but the media eats him alive as a “temporary” president
-
Umpiring standard
@Demonland Surely the Dees have to ask for a please explain from the AFL. We are struggling for any relevance in the AFL now and it hurts that we are a club that just rolls on and accepts this appalling umpire standard. If this happened to other club, they question it and the media gets it in the spotlight. Do something Demons. !!!

NON-MFC: Round 19
@Demonland Three things Pies filth claim the umps killed them and that “the ump decides a MASSIVELY important game by paying a dubious free kick to Bolton”. FFS Where’s the media comments on Darcy Moore knees into Treacy. That’s rough conduct. That’s a fine or a one week suspension Where’s the media comments about Maynard pushing Reid into the bench after crossing the boundary line
-
NON-MFC: Round 19
@Demonland @binman @picket fence 3/4 time. Free kicks Pies 19 Freo 14 Magpies supporters going crazy. Booing the umps. Wankers wankers call out from the Pies cheer squad. Unbelievable!! They want everything!! They are the extra player trying to influence the umps Imagine the media circus if they got the Dees stitch up by the umps …Oliver non free kick for holding the ball and then the Curnow free kick-goal situation !!

Media Madness
Carlton coach Michael Voss was of a similar opinion regarding the hit. "Clearly it's going to get looked at. Both players were in line with the ball, seem to be attacking it to be fair, if I'm being brutally honest, and both sort of making a play at the ball," Voss said. "Maybe one person was one step late, which obviously then the incident happens. But, for 'Frankie' to be able to hold his line with a pretty strong man coming the other way was, again, it was a pretty important moment in the game… I don't tent to read too much into it at this point of time, let the Tribunal take care of it, really.
